We planned on visiting Haleakala the morning after our arrival on Maui and, rather than check in by the beach and then turn around and do the two hour ride up the mountain, we decided to stay up in the mountain on our first night. Hence, Puluke Farm Studio. The room was big and airy with a great balcony and view. What I really loved were all the personal touches: fresh orange juice in the refrigerator, fresh croissants and a danish from the local bakery and coffee. Despite its country charm, it had city amenities like satellite TV and Wi-fi. The only warning is that the studio did have a damp feel to it, but that was to be expected since we were in the cooler rainier portion of the island. Not only was the location ideal for our hike into the crater, it was a really enchanting place to begin our Maui visit.
