I visited the Dairy Queen in Kyle, Texas around 9:30pm on Friday night(5÷27÷16). Unfortunately it was the absolute worst experience at a Dairy Queen I’ve been a part of. I entered the drive thru and the order taking process was fine. It was when I proceeded to pull up to the window where things went downhill. I pulled up to see a group of about 3 or 4 employees crowded together in the drive thru area right in front of the window laughing and the young lady that was in charge of the window had her back to us at the window totally unaware of us as guests/customers at her window. About 25 – 30 seconds go by and she is finally ready to greet us, but we received something less of a warm greeting. She flings her hand halfway out the window and mildly blurts out my total without confirming my order. I wanted to add some cheese to my burger at the window and when I asked the young lady if I could do that, and told her that I don’t mind paying extra to the new corrected total or waiting a little longer to get that added, she didn’t do a very good job of showing her disgust and distain for my request. After seeing her reception to my request, I felt discouraged and quickly retracted and said its ok, not to worry about it, for fear of inconveniencing her and the rest of the drive thru team as well. When I received my order, before I left the drive thru window, I tried a fry that came along with my combo, and I couldn’t finish it, I had to dispose of it in a napkin. Although I felt bad for«bothering» the young lady already, there was no way I could leave the drive thru with those fries. I explain the situation to her and she doesn’t say anything but takes my fries back from me, and another young man gives me another small bag with supposedly a «new fresh» batch of hot fries. I felt obligated to pull of out of the window for fear of more attitude from the drive thru team so I left without trying said new fries. As I’m leaving I begin to try a new fry and nope, still the same batch of soggy, lukewarm fries. At this point I was already so mentally worn out and discouraged from this ordeal that I didn’t want to go back inside to maybe get this problem corrected again. I’ve been going to dairy queens across several states for the last 20 years and I have never had a experience like this one at this location. Sadly this isn’t the first time I’ve had problems with this location before, I was giving it a second chance in terms of redemption from the last time I visited a few weeks prior and nothing much has changed. I won’t be going back to this location ever again and will sadly strongly consider going other places before I try another Dairy Queen again for awhile which is saddening to me because I am a huge fan of the Dairy Queen products.

Very slow service. Just wanted a cone I was in line for 25 minutes. Lots of traffic in the area-more expensive than normal for a cone-$ 2.48 for a regular medium cone.

NOSTARSONLYNEGATIVE0’s…This place should be called DRAMAQUEEN. My family and I experienced the worst customer service ever! Looks like rude little kids running the place and letting their friends hang out. 1st saw employee get so angry about tipping an ice cream over that she literally threw against the floor in front of the customers that order it. 2nd customer asked one of the employees which cone was which so she tells them, I don’t know ask her(the kid at the registered).? 3rd the girls restroom had used feminine products on the floor. Which we asked the employee to please clean up. 4th –the same employee that threw the ice cream decided she was going to have a fit in the restroom and ok for her boyfriend to follow her in. I needed to use the restroom and told this boy he had to get out and the employee says to me i didn’t think it mattered and i said, yes it does it’s a woman restroom. As they both walk out the restroom the female employee says«OHFUCKENWELL».I reported her to the manager as well. Never going back! So unprofessional! Not the same DQ it use to be back in the day.

This is the SLOWEST drive through in the state of Texas. The food is fine,(except the chicken strips, don’t get those– yuck!) but don’t try to give them a «complicated» order, because it will take them 30 minutes to figure it out/make it. Also, every time I’ve been, the staff at the window are always acting like a bunch of 5 year olds. 99% of the time I just go for a blizzard now because it’s hard to mess that up, and(in theory at least) they don’t take that long to make. As a matter of fact, I’m watching a lady yell at the girl at the window because she basically threw her food at her, after the lady in the window told her the order was wrong. The lady was rude too just now, but for this location, I kind of don’t blame her.

The kids that work there are very snotty and they obviously don’t believe the customer is right. I had one teenager actually argue with me in the lobby for close to ten minutes about how she was right with how she made my order. I finally had to just walk out. Even if she had been right it was just rude of her to argue with me like that. Management should never allow that kind of treatment of a customer…

Just left Dairy Queen and I’m so sick of them continuously getting my order wrong. Yes, granted they give me a complimentary order, but I don’t want to have to call every single time I go through the drive thru. I feel like I need to check everything from now on before I leave the window. I would rather not hold up the already long line and add to the already long wait by taste checking each drink, making sure each one has no ice and checking every burger. I love Dairy Queen and the fact that they are willing to replace my order every single time, but for once I’d like to come home and everyone I order for be happy. Instead of someone not drinking their drink because it has ice or because it’s the wrong drink or someone not being able to eat their burger because they’re allergic to an ingredient. Just once Dairy Queen, that’s all I ask! Okay, My rant is done and I’m go to make the infamous phone call. –_–

Today’s DQ experience has done it for me. Saw the«Shift Leader» go from working on the cash register to immediately handling food, no hand washing or gloves. She was clearly overwhelmed with the sudden«rush» in customers because she took her frustration out on the kids that worked there. On top of that the waffle cone I ordered with my blizzard tasted old and disgusting. Definitely won’t be back to this DQ but if all the DQ’s have the same nasty food handling practices, I’ll never go back.

The drive thru was backed up so we decided to head inside to use the restrooms and get some dessert. Wish we would have just stayed in the drive thru so we didn’t have to go inside and see how filthy the place really was. It didn’t look like any employee was making any attempt to clean anything up, they just kept walking right past it. Also, I overheard a customer ask why there was hardly any chocolate on her sundae and the employee started saying something like the chocolate is so hot when it comes out of the machine that it takes forever to make, whatever that means. Anyways the blizzards were good just not the cleanliness of the place.

Ice cold burger. Cheese was hard and a dark color like it had sat out all night. French fries were mush. Never again.

Love this DQ! Always get my order right! Taco special is enough for 2 of us… but I do NOT share my sundae.

It is probably the best fast food restaurant while on a road trip. My wife loves the blizzards, and I enjoy the cheese burgers with a dripped chocolate cone.

I’ve eaten here a half dozen times. The food is great but I really just hate the way they designed the drive through. It can handle about 4 cars before it starts backing up onto the I-35 access road. Talk about frustrating. Also the blizzards lately are served too warm. They melt faster than I can eat them. The folks here don’t do the trademark serve-it-upside-down because the ice cream is so warm I’m guessing it will fall out.

They must hire only drop outs. We only ordered blizzards and they lost our order. Then when I asked for them and showed my receipt they asked if I wanted them now or wait for later? Are you serious?

We typically just get dessert here. We have lived in Kyle for almost 4 years now but have only order food three times. We are a fan of their Blizzards. There is something about their soft serve. Sometimes I just get a cup of soft serve. Join their Blizzard fan club online, and you will get BOGO coupons.

They finally renovated the place so the facility is much nicer, but… Half the folks serving you are fantastic, the other half… ummmmm… The burgers are usually dry and almost tasteless. Tacos are a good choice here. The ice cream is good, but the portion sizes are frequently smaller than just about any DQ anywhere else. If you go at lunch or dinner, be prepared to wait. Their fountain drinks are good.

dairy queen my favorite place to buy ice cream . this one is clean friendly and the staff really know how to make a banana split. a little hard to get into from the east as the new extension of RT150 and the service rd now only going one way has restricted access somewhat.

Dairy Queen spent lots of dollars to advertise a $ 5.00 meal deal — hamburger, fries, coke and blizzard. My hubby is disabled and spends lots of time watching TV. He finally talked me into stopped by the DQ in Kyle(exit 213 off I 35) so he could have a DQ «treat». I went in and asked about the special. You would have thought that I was trying to rob them or something. The guy taking the orders was beyond RUDE, then some gal come over and read me the riot act – saying that they never ran specials and that they did not have anything like that. I was just trying to order a hamburger — Needless to say, I left and we went to Burger King and had a pretty good lunch. I sent a note to DQ headquarters and some guy from the Kyle DQ called. He said the promotion ended in December(I was there on Nov 29). When I questioned him, he said it ended at Thanksgiving. So, if it ended, his staff just needed to say that. No wonder his staff is so awful — the manager sets the tone for the entire restaurant. And the tone of this place is way«off key»!!!

I have to update my review because I’ve eaten at two more Dairy Queens since I visited the Kyle location. Almost all Dairy Queens in small towns in Texas are disgusting. In terms of cleanliness, food preparation, the actual food… I grew up eating at a Dairy Queen in a small town in Washington. It used to be good! Great! Awesome! I really think it has a lot to do with hiring teenagers — their apathy can be smelled from a mile away. And it’s evident in the food they serve. Driving through Kenedy I looked at the sign the local Dairy Queen had outside. It read: «BUYYOUMOTHERSDACAKE!» I just can’t.

If you are looking to get in and out for dinner, don’t stop. This place takes atleast 15 minutes to complete an order even if it is just a blizzard. I’m sure it’s being run by high school students, but eh. Foods the same here as anywhere, just slower.
