Whataburger

I don’t know what it is about this particular location, but we always get stale or cold fries or drinks that have no syrup, multiple times including today we order 3 meals don’t get fries for any of them, and when we returned to get the fries even those were stale and cold!.. Terrible service here needs new Managment Forsure!

Slow, slow, slow! Waited in the drive-​thru for 10 minutes for one chicken biscuit! Not really «fast food!»

My S.O. was very nice to go grab me a salad, from the drive thru, after we had separate events we attended, in which she ate without me.
I advised that she may want to call in the order, to expedite the process, and avoid waiting in line.
She ordered me one of my faves, a Grilled Chicken, Cranberry & Apple Salad, and my go to dressing, the Honey Pepper Vinaigrette.
She returned home shortly later, and I was done with my shower, and starving.
I opened the bag, and noticed the dressing was wrong. It was just Herb Vinaigrette. Grrrr, okay, not what I ordered, but I can manage.
I commence to cutting up the chicken, and notice that there are no apple slices on the salad.
Okay, at this point, I’m done. Based on previous issues, and the quality control I mentioned in my previous review, I throw everything back in the bag, and proceeded up there.
I entered the store, and stated what was incorrect with the order, and advised I needed a refund. The manager apologized, and refunded the purchase price. He also offered to make me a new salad, free of charge. I said nope, thank you, and walked out.
I then drove to Chick-​fil-​A, and purchased my meal from them, in a drive thru line, 7 cars deep, with professionalism, courtesy, and a Veteran’s discount, all within about 4 minutes. I got home, and my order was correct!
As stated before, I am a Whataburger fan, but this place!!! OMG!!! :-/

Was always my favorite since around 1968, but lately I’ve been getting real tired of the prices, and orders of fries that get cold so fast (skinny little pre-​mades like everyone else’s) and are mostly little pieces, the dregs of the fry basket. I’m going back to the best — home-​cooked.

The positives are the service and the fries. As for the burger, I had just viewed a commercial for the Monterey Melt, and remembered that the chain recently had just won the Fast Company Best Chain burger in the country. That is quite an accomplishment when you think about it, given the competition.
I’ll never pay attention to that survey again! This $ 5.40+ burger was a disgusting gooey mess, with cheap american cheese ruining any chance of tasting something flavorful, if there was anything flavorful. The only worse burger I tried was a Wendy’s pretzel burger a few years ago, and that will forever be my last visit there too. Far better off going to Five Guys with their greasy fries down the street, or finding an In-​N-​Out or PTerrys somewhere. Honestly, I don’t understand why people eat at these low grade fast food joints, except to find a cheap meal. But for spending over $ 5 on a burger, one might imagine something resembling a premium offering could be had for that price point.
With that said, if you actually enjoy this type of fare, you probably won’t find anything wrong with this place. Maybe I just picked the wrong burger to try.

As far as fast food eateries go this rates high for cleanliness food hot and as ordered .
it was early evening and only a few peeps in the place with my order was a coffee no sugar or cream available my only complaint one would think as there was only a few customers in the store and staff were **hanging around * that somebody would have refiled the tray with sugar so customers did not have to ask
oh well it is a fast food establishment so its what you would expect.
its open 24 hours which is a plus better than the average

Before I moved to TX, I always heard about «Whataburger». They weren’t around where I grew up, so within a week of moving here, we had to see what all the fuss was about, and why some of the people I have worked with in TX for the past 7 years (we were located in another state), kept calling it «the best burger you will ever eat.»
Maybe it’s a «you had to have grown up on them» thing, and please put away your guns… but I wasn’t that impressed. First of all, I am not a fan of mustard on a burger. Mustard goes on a hotdog or brat… not a burger. It’s a decent burger and certainly better than McD’s, but I’d have to say I like the Jumbo Jack or Whopper better on the rare occasions I get a fast-​food burger (again, please don’t shoot).
Service at the drive-​thru was very friendly, and quite patient with us. Since we’d never been there before, it took us a while to look over the options. Apologies to the car behind us; we tried to order as quickly as we could.
Would I eat there again? Maybe. It wasn’t horrible, but wasn’t «the best ever.» Those I make at home with my own secret recipe :-) Just ask my hubby.

Seems to be the place after any sporting even here in Kyle. Always packed. In the mornings old timers sit around and talk politics and woman, kind of funny. It is like any other of the same.

It took more than five minutes for our order to arrive at 11pm at this location but we didn’t complain once. Why? Because the service wasnt slow they were cooking our burgers! When we got them they arrive as we ordered them, hot and our fries werent cold. What more could you ask for from a low grade fast food, burger joint?
Dont get me wrong Whataburger is no Five Guys or Twisted Root (for those of you down from Dallas), but why anyone would ever go to McDonald’s or Burger King rather than here makes me wonder. When comparing the two Whataburger is much better but this is only fast food we are talking about. Nothing more and if its late and most places are closed at 11pm you’re pallet would appreciate a trip to Whataburger than the others. If other places were open we wouldn’t be here.
Meanwhile this location is clean, well managed and comes with a friendly staff, all items that arent common in the fast food world.

The manager of this place seriously needs to step it up on service! Sat in the drive thru for 45 minutes just to pull up to pay and wait for food!!! Not cool!!! This is supposed to be fast food with convenience!

Outstanding food and service! Double meat what a burger Jr w bacon and jalapeños mmmmm root beer ah yes! Never leaving Texas because I have a deep commitment with WHATABURGER! 2 get fries or onion rings that is the?

Just had the worst customer service ever from this place from «Mandy.» I’m sorry if you don’t like your job but be happy you have one! There was no reason for her attitude. The place was empty and we didn’t ask for anything out of the ordinary although she did huff at my son for asking for ketchup instead of mustard. Seriously??? We didn’t understand the hype about this place before but we’re really turned off now! Back to In N Out we go! If I could put zero stars I would!

I don’t really understand what the obsession with this place is.
The only thing I can get into is their breakfast sandwiches.

Updated to 4 stars as the service times here have improved. Good burgers joint, way better than McD or Burger King, Sonic, ect.

Always great service & hot food fast!

This Nana and Papa had our precious 4 year old granddaughter staying with us. She asked for pancakes for dinner… not breakfast, so like most grandparents we aimed to please. McDonalds doesn’t serve pancakes in the evening, so we tried Whataburger. We were greeted at the door by the manager and we asked him if they served pancakes at this hour. He said not until 11 pm. Seeing our disappointment and informing him of our granddaughter’s request, he told us to come on in and they would specially make pancakes for her. Do you know any other fast food places that would do this? All of the staff were very friendly and the place was clean. My favorite quick burger to buy is the Whataburger Jr. Most smaller burgers have nothing but ketchup and pickles, but not Whataburgers. It tastes just like the bigger burger but less calories.

For fast food style burgers, I place my trust in Dan’s, Short Stop, and of course Whataburger.
I find that a really great way to break the ice with strangers is to ask everyone to do Whataburger guy impressions. It’s pretty hilarious. Sadly, I recently found out that Whataburger didn’t renew that guy’s contract. What?! He was a Southwestern staple (in my heart)… :(
Anyways, this is my burger/​chicken joint in Kyle. Every burger, aside from the Chop House, from Whataburger is ace! So greasy and fulfilling… I just think the Chop House is kind of gross. That’s just my opinion though. Get chicken stuff from here too. It’s so flavorful and blindingly white.
The line moves slow because they make your burger when you order it. That’s the reason for all the available customizations… and wouldn’t you prefer that over something that’s been sitting out for more than 30 minutes?
The graveyard shift employees are also super friendly. THEY RECOGNISE ME NOW! Not sure if good thing or bad thing…

Thin over cooked meat patties just don’t get it these days. Too many other good burger places to go. They had 6 to 8 people who were mad and waiting forever for their food. The people here are not smart enough to make a burger. I will never go back.
Try Mighty Fine or Fives Brothers instead.

what can you say about Whataburger? It’s comfort food to me. Nothing else tastes like a Whataburger !
Besides the bacon cheeseburger, I would say the chicken biscuit is my next favorite.
and the cherry pie and the lemon pie.
I wish they were a little faster at this particular location, but you can’t blame them too much as we don’t have a lot of options in Kyle. There is a Jack N Box across the street where there is never a line … that should tell you something about Jack N Box !

I was coming home from the festivities in Downtown Austin last night (Texas Shamrockfest) and hadn’t had a chance to eat dinner yet. Let me tell you… an option in Kyle where I can get a bacon cheeseburger at 1:30am is a fantastic thing.
It’s a standard Whataburger… nothing too fancy. but if you’re in the mood for a Whataburger, onion rings, or shake… it’s a nice thing to have.
