My girlfriend and I frequent piggys and we love it. The prime rib is to die for. Only once have we ever not been really happy with the food. Service is always great and food is great at supper and the lunch buffet is excellent as well.

The food is ok at best. Perhaps I’ve been to many great BBQ restaurants. This one was average at best. The ribs were good, not great. The appetizers were ok as well. I was expecting more flavor with more bbq sauce. That’s ok. I’ll be back to try some of their other items.

I think this place gets overlooked. The food is actually quite good and definitely competes with the Waterfront. Great kids menu, not too quiet for our loud kids and we’ve never been disappointed when eating here. Just wish they had some sort of outdoor dining in the summer.

Whether you’re in the restaurant or the lounge, the menu, service, quality, presentation, and atmosphere all compliment each other making this one of our favorite destinations for special occasions and going out just because we feel like it.

I had the smoked combo which consisted of ribs, pulled pork, and a pork chop. It was all very sub par. It was supposed to be smoked but it all tasted like it was made in the oven not a smoker. The BBQ sauce was overly sweet like the cheap grocery store sauces. For BBQ Famous Dave’s is far better for a third of the price. This is was one of the worst meals I can remember having. I hear its a staple in La Crosse which explains why they feel comfortable serving overpriced with no pride whatsoever. And on top of it, the service was awful!

very nice selection on the lunch-time salad bar. Have expanded the seafood offerings and they are delicious. Am not a fan of smoked meat but they’re steaks are quite good. servers we’ve had are friendly and helpful, willing to make any variations too. Respectable wine list. Have been there numerous times and will be back.

Beautiful old building in downtown Lacrosse! Had an above average barbecue burger with spiral fries and house«fry sauce». Great Americana! My wife had a pulled pork sandwich and enjoyed every minute of it! If you want an above average dinner for an average price($ 10-$ 15 per plate) then this is for you!

Not our favorite restaurant in lacrosse. Food only okay, everything tastes smoked. I hear they are pretty tough on their employees and have large turner. Beautiful building.

Visited this place when I was staying across the street for a night. The service was very slow and I had to ask around to find out if I can just walk in and sit anywhere I wanted. Once things started rolling, I was able to eat a decent meal. The potato cheddar soup is recommended. The pike rib sandwich was acceptable, but forgettable. Ended up enjoying the meal but unless I live in La Crosse I probably will not visit again.

A date night at this restaurant ended in culinary disappointment. The lunch has always been great so we assumed dinner would be equally so. We had a calamari appetizer and I ordered the seafood sampler. I’ve had better seafood at Red Lobster(not a huge fan of theirs either.) Calamari, shrimp, and scallops were so rubbery I didn’t finish any of these portions — a personal first. The swordfish and salmon were very dry. My boyfriend ordered steak and that, at least, was better than par. I felt our meals were not worth the expense and would advise avoiding all seafood dishes.

As a vegetarian, the menu did not offer too many options.(Actually, there was only one entrée I could eat.) The reason I gave them 5 stars is because the one thing I could(and did) order was the most amazing thing I have ever had the pleasure of eating at any restaurant in La Crosse, hands down. Another reason I give them 5 stars is because I emailed the chef on the Piggy’s Facebook page before going, and he said that he would be more than happy to create something special if I called ahead. While I did not choose to do so, I was pleased that he was so accomodating. The Vegetarian Creation, which is what I ordered, was a masterpiece, and the polenta croutons were a revelation. Another great thing? I was told by the server that the potato soup, which came with the meal, was not made with chicken stock. Outstanding, and worth every penny.

Steak sandwich, chicken cordon bleu, ribeye, mixed seafood grill, Cobb salad, prime rib French dip… nothing missed. I’m new to town and eating out a lot, I keep coming back. I sit in the bar, so can’t speak about the restaurant. Excellent and friendly staff, generous portions, warm and casually elegant environment. Excellent all around.

So, I have been to piggys many times. For lunch, dinner, upstairs and down. The lunch buffet is quite nice. Great selection of salads and a tasty soup or two. The breadsticks are great. I recommend the herb vinaigrette for dressing. It’s tangy and herby and tastes homemade. Their sandwiches are decent but nothing to write home about. My issue mainly is with their fine dining. I have never had a good meal eating their upstairs food. Sometimes served cold, sometimes seeming not fresh, the vegetables clearly out of a frozen food bag(seriously if I’m paying 30 $ a plate I should not see baby carrots). Waitstaff is sometimes surly and generally the service is unpredictable. If you want fine dining in LAX, go to the Mint or Waterfront. Not Piggys.

Was here for a birthday dinner last weekend. We had a reservation so we didn’t have to wait at all.(yay!). The wait staff was very knowledgeable of the menu and very attentive to our table without being obtrusive. The restaurant had good ambiance, slightly dark. I got the steak combo which consisted of three grilled shrimps, bacon wrapped steak and grilled chicken with cheddar mash potatoes and a small side of broccoli. The medium steak was exactly how I liked and the shrimps were a nice addition. The only downfall was the food was on the salty side. That plate was $ 24 which I thought was really decent for the amount of food you get at a fancier restaurant. I saw fried calamari on the menu as well so that will be something I’d like to try next time.
