Insanely rude, I live right across the street from this place and called them to make a to go order. Was on the phone for about a minute trying to decide what I wanted and the guy on the phone told me to hurry up… never once has anyone from a restaurant ever told me that, especially in such a rude tone. I made a mistake on my order and tried to tell them to take something off and they straight up told me they would not serve me… insane. I have no clue how these people manage to stay in business with that attitude against their customers. Do not come to this pizza restaurant or order from them, lets put them out of business so we could get a real pizza restaurant here with some real service, instead of this pathetic joke of a pizza restaurant… turning down customers for absolutely nonsense

We are staying in La Jolla on vacation. We ordered pizza for delivery. The first time we ordered pizza and delivery was great and the guy was nice. However, did not have change when we paid cash. Kids loved the cheese pizza and the lemon pepper pizza was good. So we decided to order pizza again another night. Called up and tried to order the cheese pizza pan style but they were not doing pan style at all nor were they offering sourdough style either which are both on their menu. When I need to take a minute to figure out what additional to order to make the minimum for delivery. I was looking at the menu, the gentlemen sighed on the phone and made sounds of frustration for me taking so long. It had only been a minute or two. I then said to the person if you are frustrated with having to wait a minute for me to pick something else out then we will not place an order. He said okay, fine. He didn’t care. I told him we will take our business elsewhere. While the pizza we tried the first night was good. I will never order from this place again nor will I recommend it to anyone. I will also tell the place we are staying at to not recommend it to anyone as well. Very rude and unfriendly people that work there.

I love this place. Every summer when I’m dragging the kiddos to La Jolla Shores, we always walk here for lunch. Some of my favorite pizza in SD. Yes, the owner is a bit rough around the edges, but it just adds to the charm for me. Don’t be obnoxious with your order and he’s perfectly friendly.

Came here after work prior to walking to the shore to watch the sunset. Upon reading all the reviews I’m a bit baffled. Maybe I picked a good day to go. But the guy who was there was nice and helpful. He even recommended us a smaller size and said that the medium was good for two. We ordered Thai chicken pizza. Waited about 15 minutes which is fair. Pizza was thin crust. The flavor was actually on point. Something different, but really tasty. Definitely will be back and hope to get the same service.

Sorry if this post is too *cheesy* but bald homie who works here is an absolute douche. Apparently he missed class the day he opened a store. The cheese pizza I got was fine enough, but the rude dickish behavior left a bad taste in my mouth(that wasn’t cheese). NEVER going here again okkrrrrr

I grew up a mile from this shop and so have been eating here for as long as I can remember. The pizza is really good, but it’s a hole in the wall eatery run by one person. If you want an immaculately clean seating area and Super Happy customer service, get your pizza from Piatti’s down the street(and be prepared to wait twice as long and pay three times as much. If you have a reservation. Otherwise, go home). This is great food for a great price. If you’re not rude to the owner/chef/cashier, he will be perfectly amiable.

The pizza here makes sweet love to my mouth. I don’t know why everybody is so upset about the service, the guy who owns it has always been friendly and prompt with his service, not to mention he’s a wizard when it comes to crafting pizza. I come here weekly and it’s my favorite place in La Jolla by far. Please eat here and tip him like a thousand dollars because it’s so damn good and I don’t have the money to do it myself. You can eat at the cute tables out front or and take it back to your house for Netflix and chill. Either way, your sweetheart is going to love you for it because the pizza is so good.

Best pizza in La Jolla. Lemon Pepper Chicken is my favorite. Service is not friendly but the food is a great deal :)

Good for the price, but nothing to Unilocal about. The pizza lacked really any Italian flavor. They did have a good assortment of canned drinks and the food came out quickly.

My favorite pizza in san diego. Its thin crust, completely home made from scratch. The Unilocal reviews have failed… let me put it this way — if you enjoy pizza hut or dominos, then you will probably hate this place

We walked up here Sunday from the beach pretty hungry from swimming. The young guys working were not friendly, but it was very hot in the tiny kitchen. Our pizza was not bad. My son liked it. The crust was thin and tasted exactly like a saltine cracker. It’s the best food in the area, but that’s not saying much because the other places are terrible.

Either this place is totally underrated, or I had the rare good experience here. We came starving and ordered two small pizzas, one sausage and mushroom and one pepperoni. The wait for the food was around 15 – 20 minutes, which was not unreasonable for something made-to-order. The pizzas came out to us piping hot, and we devoured them. They didn’t skimp on the toppings, and I really liked the crust, which was thin and crunchy but not bland. If I were in the area, I would totally come back here again.

If I could put zero stars I would !!! Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service, very unfriendly employees and pizza was burnt and taste wasn’t the greatest, and last but not least we waiting 45 minutes for just a small(10 inch) cheese pizza. I don’t recommend this place at all !

If I could give lower I would. From reading the reviews I God forbid pray they are better when it’s a slow day. I ordered a SMALL pizza. No one I front of me and it was over a 40 min wait. I asked inside(nicely) when my pizza would be ready(because they told me it would take 25 mins). They all yelled at me to wait. Then checked my name told me ten minutes. Then I asked if they brought it out or did I wait by the door. The man looked at me and said no one customer at a time!!! And then asked the guy behind me a question and ignored me… I have never in my life had a worst experience in my life. And I try to be understanding because I work in the food industry. Not to mention the pizza was burnt and ehhh… Not to mention the group who showed up as I went into to ask about my order were upset because they ordered three pizzas over 2 hours ago and have been waiting here for over 20 mins.

Ambience: N/A: it’s walk-up. Proximity to beach and houses/condos close by: most excellent. Drinks: N/A, take it home and mix your own. Service: Good for what it is. I’m not taking the owners out for beers, but he made a good pizza and was nice enough Food: Again, for what it is, quite good. For 15 bucks, it fed four of us and was pretty good. It’s not foo foo(no shortage of those in La Jolla if that’s what you want), just a decent pie. Overall: as someone else said, give the guy a break. Sure, he could be friendlier, but it’s 9 on a Tuesday and he’s been there all day(and probably most days), so kudos to him for living the dream. Also, if you’re friendly to him, he’ll be friendly to you.

Everyone bashes on this place… Best pizza I’ve had. It’s one owner running a small business. Give the guy some slack… I live locally and he is truly a nice guy. And his pizza is great. These reviews come from summer tourists who expect hand made pizza to magically be made by one person in 20 minutes. Just not going to happen. Don’t bash a nice guy’s business for doing all he can to support his family.

Was looking for a quick lunch while spending s day at the beach and ordered a large pepperoni pizza from this place. It was actually really good and fed a family of 4 for under $ 20. I would defiantly come back again.

The owner/operator acts as if he’d like to be anywhere in the world besides making you a pizza. But whatever, I don’t get take out pizza for the service. However, I will say that this is the single worst pizzas I’ve ever had. We were on vacation staying at the hotel right there and thought it’d be a nice, quick choice. As evidence at how bad it was — both my 6 and 8 year old boys could not finish their first piece. And they eat anything. This guy is getting by simply on unsuspecting tourists that don’t read reviews first. Lesson learned.

There was a small wait but that’s normal to make a fresh pizza. Pepperoni and lemon chicken pizza were both pretty good. Nice small whole in the wall pizza place!

Pizza was good and all the reviews about the owner are true. You just have to laugh and go with it. I was nervous to ask for an update on my pizza. Kind of reminds me of soup nazi from Seinfeld.
