I love this place. I work next door and just thinking about their Mexican Food makes my mouth water. Supreme Quesadilla, Carne Asada Fries or Wet Chicken Burrito are my favorites. Quick, best salsa bar in town, friendly and fresh. I’ll come back again and again.

Been eating here for quite some time. Employees are incredibly rude. They give you attitude for asking for more hot sauce in the drive through and the cook glares at you. He seems to forget the customers are why he is even existent in the first place. Lady charged me extra for sour cream which is ok, attitude in her voice when I told her that I had asked for it was not. On top of it she tried to keep my change instead of giving it back. It’s only cents but it’s the principle of the matter. Not cool guys, get your customer service together.

This place is just really not great at all lol. My boyfriend and I stopped by this place cause it was walking distance from where we were and were craving some burritos. Pretty large menu selection but prices were kind of expensive to me. It costed us roughly $ 15 for 2 burritos. All the places we’ve been too, it has costed us $ 10 the MOST for 2 burritos. Anyways, I opted for a breakfast burrito, the bacon, egg, & cheese one and asked if I could substitute the bacon with ham and the cashier responded back to me with a snotty attitude saying«Uhhhh yeah? Why not» …I was just asking a simple question. GOD. The ham to egg/cheese ratio was the worst. My burrito was 95% ham chunks, barely any cheese(they used cheddar cheese btw, tasted like nacho cheese.), and they probably used the most of 1 egg. I wish I was exaggerating. It was decent but I got sick of the ham so I threw away half of it. 2 stars given for my decent tasting mostly ham burrito and my boyfriend’s burrito that he inhaled in 2 seconds.

Don’t know why, but this place isn’t a fraction as good as the Rigoberto’s down the street. The service isn’t anything to write home about either.

ONLY because I live so close is why I come to this restaurant. I will not order anything with meat because its not good. Anytime I ordered anything with Carne I chewed a hard piece that would make me gag but you cannot go wrong with the rolled tacos. I think the service has always been good. I actually like the employees again the only reason why I find myself going back is because it is convenient and the only thing that is open in la jolla after 10. Come on La Jolla STEPITUP!

I live down the street so I decided to try. Unilocal has mixed reviews but I urge you to try this place. The menu is really big which is why I suspect that there are some«misses» here and there. None the less, when you leave, you will be well fed. I ordered a combo of a shredded beef taco and burrito with beans and rice. I couldn’t finish this over lunch so I brought it home with me. The taco was crispy and packed with fresh ingredients. The burrito was massive and had about a #lb of meat in it. Watch the dude roll the tortillas on the grill, they are no Sh! t the size of a med pizza. I get it, its a hole in wall. Yes you could drive 15 min to a better place somewhere… screw it, drive an hour and go to mexico if you want real mexican… but do not pass this place up if you are in the neighborhood, you will not be disappointed.

This is 2 star review due to the service(see below), but the burrito was a solid 3 stars. Rigoberto’s sign alleges that they open at 7AM. I arrived at 7 to find the place empty and locked. I decided to sit and wait at one of the outdoor tables since I had nothing better to do anyway. So, I sat there and just watched traffic and people walk by. At 7:10, 3 employees arrived. They walked past me, said nothing, and unlocked the door. They then clicked the«Open» sign on and began to prepare for the day. At this point, I decided to come inside. They still said nothing. After about 5 minutes of me playing with my phone, one of them finally asked what I would like to order. I ordered the sausage breakfast burrito and decided to add potatoes. So, the burrito had sausage, cheese, eggs, and potatoes. Very basic, but HUGE. This was a great value for less than $ 6. Would easily be a filling breakfast for 2 adults, unless they are lumberjacks or something. There is lots of cheese, and you can taste each ingredient in most bites. The sausage had a bit of caramelization from the flat top, which gave it some crispy edges. I liked this. I wished they cooked the potatoes longer to get the same effect. They add no pico or salsas to the burrito. I tried the green salsa, which was just okay, I’ve certainly had better. I know I’ll return to Rigoberto’s, it’s very close to where we are staying and it seems to have a large menu. I just hope that the service will be a little better next time I eat here so I can do an update.

Staff is really nice!!! Awesome little local La Jolla taco shop :) I got the taco meal. 2 tacos with rice and beans. Mike got the shredded chicken burrito supreme(rice guac sour cream. etc) The fish tacos are battered with tarter sauce. If I knew they were battered I would have gotten shrimp! Still pretty flavorful but it put hot sauce on it so it tasted great :) Very authentic. Pretty good tacos
