I really love this place, they do good quality sandwiches and salads. Also the smoothies are delicious.

I’ve had it with this place. Unfortunately, it’s the closest eating establishment to my company, but their lack of service is just horrendous! They may have remodeled and renamed to Café Pascale, but can’t seem to get a simple pick up order right. 3 times I have ordered the gyros plate for pick up as I cannot be out of the office that long so my goal is to always time it when I can just go in, pay and get my food. Here’s the results of the 3 times I have attempted this(over a period of a 1.5 mos): Attempt #1: Called the order in and they said it would be ready in 10 – 15 minutes. I waited 15 minutes before going over there. When I arrived, my food was not ready and I had to wait another 10 minutes which irritated me. The wait time for food here is awful if you order in person hence why I called in a pickup. Disgruntled as I was, I did wait for the food. Attempt #2: Called in the order and waited longer than 15 minutes to go pick up. I get there, pay for my food and hooray!!! it’s ready and waiting for me. Again, I ordered a gyros plate because that is really only 1 of 2 things I like there — particularly the salad included. Come back to the office all excited for the salad, open the container and all I see is the meat and rice — no salad. Totally BUMMED and angry that I went back. Attempt #3: I thought ‘what the heck,’ I will give them one last chance as I did want a gyros plate and figured I had learned from the prior 2 experiences to make this pick up go smoothly and get exactly what I want — even though I was forewarned by a coworker. I go to pay and ask where my order is. The guy says ‘I put the order back there…’ but nothing was ready. I said ‘if it’s not ready then just forget it, I don’t have time to wait.’ They ended up giving me a gyros wrap and fries which they didn’t charge me for and that’s great. I got a couple of ‘sorry’s’, but I told them this was the last straw and I wouldn’t be back. If you can drive a bit further, go to Burnham’s cafeteria instead. The prices are more reasonable and the service is fast and friendly. Café Pascale aka Science Park Café is inefficient and slow, and they don’t really understand the importance of customer service in the food industry, plus they really do have high prices. You can remodel the place all you want, but if you can’t deliver a simply meal correctly, then it’s not worth my time or money.

It is convenient because I work nearby, but the food is kinda pricey.

Went back today. I asked if I could have a sample of the soup; the woman looked at me and said, «do you think it tastes different every day?». While I’ve been a few times, I have not had the soup and as far as I know, those sample cups are there for a reason. VERY poor customer service.

Science Park is very convenient if you work in the science-tech campuses near Torrey Pines Golf course. The menu is fairly extensive, composed of typical deli fare(sandwiches, salads, pastas, daily specials). The quality is moderate in terms of taste. They do serve generous lunch portions for the price. They have coffee and pastries in the a.m. hours for those on the way to work. The dining area is quite large and often not full as many customers order take out.

Just stopped by here after a long hike at Torrey Pines State Park. It’s in the Science Park across from the golf course. The dining area is spacious. The menu offered a nice selection and was reasonably priced. I was expecting to pay upwards of $ 8, since it was in such a nice area, but was pleasantly surprised that for just under $ 8 I got a good sandwich and also picked up a slice of Pumpkin Bread(chock full of walnuts — mmm!). I ordered the cheese and avocado sandwich, and was not disappointed. It included sprouts and thick slices of cucumber, among other traditional fixings, and layers different kinds of cheese, with just the right amount of meat, in between fair-sized slices of wheat bread. The service was very friendly too. I hope I remember this the next time I’m in the area and hungry. I’d like to try their other menu items.
