Alex Imports

Went there for a private transfer. I was the first one there, when the owner shows up, he takes the guy that got there after I did first and told me it would take and hour and half to take care of him. The only other thing he told us was to go somewhere else. Basically he gave us a wave off and giant up yours. Even the guy I was doing the transfer was in disbelief of the service. He wont ever be going back either.

Found Alex and Christian when I was searching for a old school solution to a new age problem. Took my 1911 in which is my preferred carry weapon, She had problems but with a old school way you just do not see anymore Alex showed me my mistake in a hot minute. Then in a race to beat the clock so I could qualify with my 1911 made her way better.
The ability of these guys is lost in this world. Not only did they cover a manufacturer problem they were supportive in getting me documents to pursue some kind of pay back. Yes the shop is small but knowledge and experience is NOT!!!
Having 16 plus years in Military Service the only place my weapons will be going to see the DR. is Alex.
Since the hurried repairs on my 1911 I currently have a round count of not less than 850. My 1911 will be going back for other services as recommended by Alex.
Christian is helpful and fast at finding solutions and the continued communication is awesome CUSTOMER SERVICE in 2014,2015 you don’t find that just anywhere.

Went there for a couple transfers. Christian did a great job. Explained things thoroughly. Definitely learned a few things. Prices were lower than most. Looked like they did in house gunsmithing which is rare these days. Sounded like they knew what they were doing. Alex is a very interesting character.

We visit Alex Imports almost weekly. Very friendly staff and you can never ask a «stupid» question.
Very very good customer service, we always get a courtesy notification when the caliber of ammo we purchase is in stock.
They can order some items for you if they don’t have it in stock and as long as it’s compliant in California… lol
When you first walk in it’s not an attractive set up for a store but hey, you’re not shopping for Prada right?

I discovered this place just driving by. I went inside and started talking to the two guys (Neither one the owner).I was interested in a Ar 15 wich I understand are very hard to get and are usually 3moths+ backordered. But the worker (not the manager or owner) started telling me that the boss was back at a gun show and was bringing back 4 lowers. I basicly said, «Wow! Can I get one?» He said yes and the manager wrote me up. It was $ 450 for a lower reciever wich is expensive, But I figured it was worth while sense they could get it when no one else can. So 5 days later I call and the manager says with no apoligies,“I NEVER told it would be here in a few days. It takes 2 weeks For shipping!” This made me angry that I was mis led, But also because of his lack of care to Figure out what the misunderstanding was. He just stated it like Im an Idiot or a liar.
I bit my tounge and waited 2 weeks then called back. He then says, No, its not here, It will be 2 more weeks for shipping because its comeing «Ground». A couple days later I came in and got my money back. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because he did not hassle me when getting my money back. It seemed he could not care less that I was getting my money back and the buisness was looseing profit. I wonder if the owner knows this.
I was a first time customer and Im not hard to please. I just want people to stand by what they say, Dont over promise and under deliver, Be professional.
I have sense found a better gun shop and purchaced 3 new rifles.

The shop may be a bit small in square footage but it is the quality and personnel that make a good shop, right? Alex himself is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and will help guide a decision for those that need a bit of first-​hand feedback all without the ‘used-​car salesman’ routine. My friend and I went to every single gun shop in town (over about a month) and I can say with bulletproof confidence that Alex runs the best of the bunch by a .50 cal long shot.

Alex has been in business for decades and has consistently provided sage advice, quality workmanship, at reasonable prices. I endorse Alex Imports and his products and services.

knowledgeable staff, very much so. can be a bit intimidating to beginners, but only on appearances. I think they are relocating to a new venue. nice selection, ranging from old to new. lots of ‘specialty items’

I want to highly recommend Alex to anyone who is thinking of buying a new gun/​rifle or to anyone interested in gun safety and instructions. Honestly, Alex is the best guy to know when it comes to guns. He can teach anyone from the basics to the advance moves, and has the knowledge and experience to make it professional and interesting (he’s got the best stories from protecting gov officials to espionage to foreign military training).
Call ahead and make an appointment and you will NOT be disappointed. He’ll be the man to scour the earth for your antique weapon, or he can restore the one you already have, and show you anything else that might be of interest.
