They are okay, and nothing more than okay. They are not consistent. Some days I love my noodles and some days they are super bland and soggy. Their curries are not the best either, but definitely edible. Their stir fry’s tend to be dry as well, so I would avoid them.

Had some time to spare so thought we would have dinner. Went to Unilocal to see what people in the area thought was a good eat. This place rated high and I enjoyed what others said about the people and food. Thought we would try it and really enjoyed the place. It’s in a strip mall without the strip mall feel. Definitely will come back. Good date night place!

Best Tom Kar soup and Pad Thai in La Mesa! I’ve dined in and gotten takeout on several occasions and have not been dissatisfied once! The staff are always friendly and the restaurant is elegant. Great date night spot!

Went to lunch with my son… Started with a hot pot of Tom Yum soup. Great choice. We had the Pad Thai and the Spicy Noodles(Pad Kee Mao). They were awesome. We will be back.

We did not dine in however I’m amazed at the presentation for our to-go order. My husband called in and we all went to fetch it. It’s located next to Haggens. I’ve been past here so many times and finally had a minute to try their food tonight. They told my husband that we will be regulars soon and after tasting the food I’m totally convinced we will! The food was delicious! The fresh springs rolls with shrimp came with their homemade peanut sauce and sweet chili sauce. Next up, was their pineapple fried rice that usually comes in a half of a pineapple but it’s hard to pack as a to-go item so they give you more and add steamed veggies around it. There were small strips of chicken not on the tender side but still tasty. We also ordered the chicken pad Thai and it was beautifully presented with shreds of carrots and bean sprouts. We asked for zero spice level since our 1 year old son was eating with us… his first Thai experience and he loved it! My husband ordered a Thai iced tea to go(the orange drink) and it tasted splendid. We saw others leaving with to go orders and doggy bags. It was definitely a high quantity and quality of Thai food. So excited it’s nearby and yes… we are totally hooked now!

I’ve eaten here about 5 times, and overall have had a good/great experience. The food is fresh, hot and tasty — but I must say I ordered some for delivery, and it exceeded my expectations. Food was piping hot, it was delivered in about 20 mins and it was packed properly. I always get the Panang curry, but I ventured out of my comfort zone and tried the mixed grill. Wow, lots of food — enough for my wife and I. Highly recommend.

Love this place. Great lunch specials. Try the Pad See ew with chicken. Careful though if you are not into spicy foods. I have to get the spice at a 2 otherwise it is just to hot.

Pretty good Thai food for RSD. I usually get the spicy noodle chicken dish. The skewers are good as well. Their cucumber and peanut sauce is really tasty too. Definitely underrated, give it a try…

Used to eat here, the food is good. However, now the place smells like sewer. Raw sewer. Walked in with my family from out of town and was disappointed to have to backpedal on my glowing review leading us there. My wife remarked that she had noticed the smell a little before on her way to the bathroom but didn’t think much of it. So no, thank you. There’s plenty of Thai places to not have to sit and smell pipe-rot. Disgusting. Bye Felicia.

Little overpriced and sweet and sour chicken bland. Overall, okay if you’re hungry and craving Thai food in the area.

We eat here all the time and will continue. Affordable. Very friendly staff. Once in a while the yellow curry will be different than it was a week prior so it’s not 100% consistent but it’s great overall. All the other dishes we have ordered have been great. Drunken noodles. Pad Thai. Salads. They care about their customers.

My wife and I have been coming here for about 1 year now and I’m not sure why it took so long to write a review. The staff is very friendly and it’s clean inside. The food is great. I am a big yellow curry fan and order yellow curry at every Thai place I visit. The yellow curry is excellent. The fresh rolls are great as well. My wife gets the spicy basil with tofu. We are usually there every Thursday for the lunch special but I believe the lunch specials are Monday-Friday. They just started to deliver now! I was amazed to find this out. You just need to be within a 2 – 3 mile radius. It’s very rare to find a Thai place that delivers. Definitely give this place a try! :)

Very cute restaurant and fairly attentive staff. The chicken satay appetizer was the best I’ve had. Their food preparation is different than thai flavors I’m used to. I ordered the eggplant with chicken, but it came with mostly bell peppers and onions, some chicken, and even less eggplant. The other dishes were very similar in that sense. The flavors are slightly over-salted, but not the usual thai eggplant flavor. 4 stars for attentive staff/cute restaurant/only thai place in Rancho SD… but the food is 3 stars. Needs more of the protein(I.e chicken)

Food was good. I had the phra ram delight. The peanut sauce kind of took over the flavor of everything so if you like peanut sauce that would be a good dish for you. The firecracker shrimp was amazing and we also ordered chicken satay for an appetizer. The ambience was very quiet with therapeutic music, Not cool if you wanna talk using normal voices. If you like your food spicy then order the powder chili and sprinkle it on everything it makes everything taste better

For those of you who enjoy good Thai food this place is NOT for you. The food is bland and tasteless. I ordered the spicey noodles at a # 5 level and they were not even a little bit hot I had to ask for red pepper to be brought to the table. The service is quite lacking as well. The staff is pretty much oblivious to the customers. Don’t waste your time or your money.

Really delicious Thai food! Another Rancho San Diego discovery! I’ve always said that this area is growing, very up & coming. Tucked away in the corner next to the Vons in the center off of Avocado, Phra Ram 9 provides an upscale dining experience in the East County. Initial walk in — it’s dark, low lighting, providing romantic vibes. We checked out the menu outside, pricing is $$($ 10+) It’s not really family style, but we ate it that way. Portions are huge enough to do so and share. Sharing the options allowed us to try multiple dishes. Calamari — flat filet pieces with tempura battered veggies(squash and broccoli) the sauce that came with it was superb. Steak — It came with 2 large enough pieces, cut up. It also came with fresh veggies(broccoli, carrots, squash) and a bed of rice. It also came with a sauce, not hugely excited about, but kind of necessary. I steak was cooked well, but i believe the rib eye is what caused it to be chewy. Pad See Ew – YUM… it had broccoli in it… can we ever have too much broccoli… yes. haha. But this kind was my favorite because it was soaked in the sauce that pad see ew is dressed with. Enjoyed my dinner very much! They have an extensive wine menu, fabulous service, and feels very traditional. All in East County!

This place was clean and the the device was fast and friendly. The décor was nice and the food was pretty good. It wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but I would visit again if I were in the area

I have not been back to Phra Ram for some time, so I figured it was a good time for and update. This time around I ordered the Yellow Curry with chicken served with Jasmine rice at a mild level number 3, and when they said yellow, they meant yellow.( I cost $ 9.99. Now the flavor of the yellow curry was spot on. The serving however was a little on the small side, but what was in it, was great. The chicken was tender, and the potatoes soft enough that they soaked up the curry.( ) The curry served over the rice, was just that much better. The viscosity of the curry was good, not to thick nor watery. Jasmine rice was very good and came steaming hot and loose, the way I like it.( ) The girls who work here are always very sweet and generous, so of course, service was great. On this visit, I accomplished picking up a heavy slippery potato with chop sticks!( )
