This liquor store is in a close proximity where I live. I am not a regular shopper here, but sometimes I stop to buy some lottery tickets. Lately they have a new male staff member who is very rude and unfriendly at least to me. Maybe I guess one of the reasons is that I do not drink and most of the time I buy there lottery tickets only. On my last visit when I presented my two winning tickets to him he asked me how much I won so I showed him my first ticket and asked for a free play. He gave me the new ticket and then I showed him my second one and then he quickly said that he do not have any money left and I need to be back in one hour and he is too busy to help me more. When he spoke to me his face was tense and he was visibly looking angry. I have had feelings that any second he will jump over the counter and will hit me in the face. I said to him«easy man» and he have begun to wave his hands at the same time waking away from me no more talking. He did not give me any chances to say that I do not want any money because I just wanted to buy some more tickets for a different game. So I left the store. I understand that you might not like what you do or have a bad day, but it was not first time I felt unwelcome in that place. I do not think I will be back there any time soon if ever. Most local liquor stores here in La Mirada I know have friendly and smiling staff who cares about its customers and business and it is pleasure to be with them. Perhaps customers who buys only lottery tickets are not important for some of the Cata Liquor store workers or its owner, but it might be that the other reasons plays some role as well. I will not speculate further. I feel only sorry for the other person who is working there, because she was serving me well in the professional manner.

Dude! I’m an LK: A Liquor Store Kid! I can appreciate a business that carries absolutely nothing of any nutritional value! Here the 5 food groups are chips, candy, soda, alcohol, and tobacco. My condo is right smack-dab next to this liquor store. Seriously, almost 5 times a week I stop by here to get a 99c something:(1) a Pepsi Max,(2) an Arizona, or(3) a Ruby Red Squirt! Workers are nice! Super convenient! The only way I’d give any convenience store 5 stars is if it was like a 7 – 11 in Japan. Onigiri, Udon, Teriyaki Bowls, Crazy Drinks & Candies, and all for pretty cheap!
