Tom’s Jr Restaurant

Come here on a regular basis and normally the service is okay. For some unknown reason, tonight nobody was at the front. After almost FIVE minutes, an order lady come up and ask if I was ready to order. Sarcastically, I sad I have been ready for five minutes. No sorry for the wait or even an attempt at some bullsh*t reason. Good thing there Re other places around here to eat. Just about 2 or 3 miles is Mike’s. Same type of food with similar prices. There at least, they have people at the front counter taking orders.

Tom’s is hit and miss, but a few of their items I enjoy a lot. Especially that marinaded spicy pastrami sandwich of theirs. Fried chicken is seasoned and tasty, but why they serve it on top of wilted veggies, a greasy roll and two soggy onion rings, I have no idea. Fries are not fresh and pretty boring here.
Staff is friendly, but they cook a lot fresh so wait times can take a while.
This has become my take-​out place close to work.

Sorry, I think that they’re being under rated. These guys are good. Good service, good prices, an abundance of food means a good value. It’s clean inside and the food comes out fast. I wish more fast food places were this good.

I usually frequent the drive thru and spend about 20 bucks each time for my family of 5. Portions are large and we end up sharing most of the time. They have great homemade style salsa, like the kind I grew up with, actually my whole family loves the salsa, but that’s where I have a complaint. The girls that work the drive up window act very irritated when I say «can i have a few extra salsas?». I usually get an «excuse me?», or «there’s already one in there», but one tiny cup isn’t enough for those large portions. Once I asked for 3 salsas and the girl huffed away and came back with just 1. What’s up with that? Every time I pull away from the window I tell myself «that’s the last time I come here», but it’s the closest spot to home. Tom’s please show you appreciate your drive thru customers by retraining the the young ladies and emphasize that «a little courtesy goes along way».

My go to place for burgers. Anytime I’m back home I get one. It’s just so good and tons of fries. And I’m not talking like my favorite burger joint but like if I want a toms burger because I do crave them, I get it.

Their burgers are delicious. However, I ordered the carne asada fries and was very disappointed. The asada was chewy and burnt. They cost $ 8 and you get cheese, burnt asada, sour cream and a little guac. Also, my wife got the taquitos plate and asked to substitute the rice with some fries. The answer was immediately «no». It’s too bad because the rice and beans were very mediocre. If want Mexican, save your money and go to Taco Bell. Way better. Unless you want a burger, go somewhere else.

I usually get the breakfast meals to go. Eggs over easy cooked nicely. Steak isnt bad, flavorful and not dried. I do wish their pancakes was just a tad more buttery… But I am biased towards Dennys version of pancakes. The ladies at the counter have been pleasant each and everytime Ive been there… (Roughly once a week for a year now).
Place is clean inside and I dont mind eating there… Just most of the time I would take out.
Would have been perfect 5 star if breakfast was served all day, and if they had more options.

The breakfast burrito was awesome in the morning they have great workers i will recomend to anyone around the city la mirada next time i will try the grilled chicken sandwich for lunch for sure.

Worst customer service experience I’ve had. I don’t care how good food might be at a joint, if the lady who is serving the food at the front counter is going to be completely rude and condescending for no reason then I’m out. Never coming back here.

Today I went to Tom’s rest. with a big group of 15.
We were eating and all of sudden there was a rat running around the rest.
So unhealthy environment to eat.
Plus the staff didn’t bother to apologize at all.
They woudnt let customers in and they lock the doors.
As we were eating they said that after 10 min. they have to close it .
I would not go here anymore.

We have driven past this restaurant numerous times but never stopped here for some reason. Tom’s popped up on Unilocal when I was searching for restaurants in the neighborhood. So, I decided to check it out.
I ordered the following:
Their world famous Asada fries, easy on cheese.
Hot dog.
Total came to $ 12.30.
Pros:
Very fast drive through. It did not take more than a few minutes for the whole process. There were 2 cars ahead of us waiting for their food while I was ordering. (+1)
Good sized portion of Asada fries, and the hot dog for the price. (+1)
Employee who took our order was very personable.
Cons:
Fries were taken out of a bag, and put into the oil. That was a bummer. I thought everything was fresh and not frozen at this joint. I guess I was mistaken. (–1)
Mrs. was not impressed with employees preparing food without gloves on. (–1)
I will certainly check out their other menu offerings at a later time.

$ 10 dollars for a rib eye sandwich combo and the lettuce is thicker than the rib eye? What the heck?! Burgers are decent but the place is a little over priced. It’s OK I guess.

Only reason this place is getting 1 star is because of the lady at the register. We come for dinner here maybe twice a month and we always get great customer service not today there was a diff lady at the register I’m guessing she’s new since she had to ask the cook what came in the burgers. Lady was arguing with me and my husband about the kids chicken nugget price but she kept arguing. She’s super rude when she would come bring our food to our table literally drop it off of the corner of the table and walk away she didn’t ask if we needed anything. I’m not sure if we will be back to this place!!!

Drive thru is the worst! You get pancakes without butter or the fried mushrooms with no ranch. How difficult is it to check the order before you pass it off to the consumer?!
Went back again and guess what no ranch after I asked her if there was ranch for the mushrooms. Never going back again!

This little corner restaurant, BIG PLATES, AWESOME FOOD, it is one of Bob’s and myself favorite local place to grab a salad huge, fair prices great service, We have been eating here for awhile, You must try them, Patty Melts, awesome too.

There’s a lot of items I want to try here.
California burrito was pretty good and I enjoyed it.
Decent price and ways parking also.
Nite to self, breakfast ends at 1pm.

Clean and well kept dining area which is always a plus ! Their Pastrami is outstanding, as well as their burgers, and Carne asada tacos
Their french fries are excellent, and not at all greasy or full of salt. Same goes for their fried zucchini, which is awesome. The only thing that my family and I tried which we didn’t really care for, and won’t order again, were their fried mushrooms. They were way over cooked, to the point of almost burnt, and no flavor to them. However everything else there so far we liked and will continue to go back there. Good food !

The first line is the most important in a review so I have to say that although lately they been disappointing me on the lack of adequate seasoning salt, Tom’s Jr. makes some of the best fries I’ve had the fortune to devour in gluttonous handfuls. I can’t even wait the whole 7 minutes to drive back home before half the order is gone. It’s like they’re whispering my name and I cannot resist the call for action. It is that scrumptious… when they season it right.
Burgers
The other food is pretty damn wonderful. All the burgers are cooked perfectly and with the combination of the house sauce and ingredients between each golden bun it’s like magic in your mouth. You could add chili, cheese, or even pastrami and they all hit the spot like, «AAAAHHHHH YYYYEEEAAAAHHHHH!»
Food
And that’s just the burgers. If you have a hankering for some delicious dinner options without breaking the double digit mark, you can never go wrong with their dinner plates. The fried chicken dinner is my favorite. You get a salad, combo of onion rings and fries, dinner roll grilled nicely, and 4 golden fried chicken pieces. You already know about the fries. The onion rings are great too with some barbeque sauce. The salad is… a salad, but the crispy texture of the grilled dinner roll makes for some nice eating. Finally, that fried chicken is something else. The batter they use isn’t too heavy so it doesn’t create a thick coating. Instead, it nicely lines the skin and makes it crisp without flaky. Also the batter they use is so delightful with a sweetness to it. Combine that with great frying technique and you get a moist chicken every bite of the way. One of the best fried chicken dinner plates I’ve had at a dine out restaurant.
Price
Like I mentioned, the pricing here is so accommodating. Nothing is over the $ 10 mark and even the combos will keep you under. You will feel like you practically stole a second meal with the portions you get and the price you’re paying.
Conclusion
There are plenty of burger joints that you can cruise into and get a decent meal. There are however the few that really stay imprinted in your mind. With large portions, great quality, and low price, Tom’s Jr. is one of those places where it’ll become a local favorite for you for years to come.

The people that work here are RUDE. I’ve been coming here a lot lately and I always figured the lady just had chronic b! xch face, but then I realized she has a nasty attitude too. This pretty much applies to everyone that works here.
The fries are really good though.

Pretty decent joint for a hardy meal. I’ve tried few stuff on their menu and all of them have been pretty good. I’ve tried their tuna melt, chicken club sandwich, chili
Cheese fries, curly fries, fried zucchini, and breakfast burrito… All are really good and you can’t go wrong. My favorite however is their carne asada fries without sour cream and with extra cheese… Yummmm!!! I love that the meat tastes fresher than other similar establishments.
In general their portions are huge and so I usually share with others or have a ton of leftover.
I’ve only been thru the drive thru and the service has always been great. They get you your food pretty fast and they always make sure to give you extra utensils and napkins and condiments. Yay! :)
