Very good service, the food is pretty amazing. The wait are not crazy during weekends. The place is nicely organized. 9⁄10 would go back more often. Although sometime, when the baked sushi roll comes out, they might forget to warn you that the pan is very hot. So be careful if you order a baked roll. Other than that, a great place for a night out.

It’s been a few years since we visited Midori, and decided we would give them another try. It was lunch time and the restaurant was at least half full, so our expectations were raised at this sight… after all, a very busy and full restaurant must be superb. After taking our order, the very polite lady brought us two bowls of miso soup, which was a nice gesture. We ordered the teriyaki chicken and tempura bento and the spicy tuna bowl. We did not have to wait very long before our order arrived. It is at this time that our expectations were dashed. The spicy tuna bowl was sadly disappointing. The taste was fine, but it was almost pureed tuna in a very thin layer over ¾ of the bowl of rice with a bit of cabbage in between, and poorly peeled avocado slices, please look at my pics for a better feel. Again, it did not taste bad and was fresh, but it appeared to be poorly plated at the very least, and meager on the fish. The bento was another story. First the food was sparsely presented in the box… as if there wasn’t enough food to put on it… a bit sad looking… see pics for yourself. The chicken was bland and not very tasty, it tasted boiled rather than grilled as it is the case with most teriyaki dishes we’ve had. The tempura coating was too thick and dough-y, not light and flaky. Finally the California rolls were poorly made as they fell apart immediately upon picking a roll up with chopsticks, and the flavor was meh. In fact, it seems that they forgot to make the proper sushi rice, as it tasted like plain old rice with zero seasoning. We will definitely not come back to Midori, after a sadly disappointing experience. In the same shopping center, Tokyo Town Sushi prepares far superior Japanese cuisine for about the same price, and it has become one of our top choices in La Mirada. The Midori folks are super nice, but the food quality is just not there… it appears to lack passion based on how it was prepared; almost like dining at a mall eatery… too bad; we had high hopes.

I’ve been going here for years and have tried a variety of items… from udon, to tempura, to veggie rolls, to baked salmon rolls… everything is great. The people who work here are always kind to me. One of my favorite local sushi spots.

Mango avocado salad was really good. The salad dressing compliment the whole salad lettuce flavor. I’m still thinking about the salad 3 days later. Btw, the mango was sweet too. I’m very surprised that i found a gem in the 4 pages of menu. I’m coming back real soon.

Really fishy tasting, but I think that means it’s authentic. Not very crowded. I had egg rolls and fried rice while my friend was satisfied with her bento box. Especially for a Biola student, it is very conveniently located(:

HORRIBLE. Cheap. Fishy. NOT fresh tasting. Tasteless. Sweet people but the food… Two thumbs down. What a waste of money

Service was good, 10 minutes before close they were still welcoming in customers. But the food was mediocre at best. The egg rolls tasted weird, two bites and I was totally turned off. Everything else was just ok, we didn’t finish anything we ordered. Two stars for good service.

For those who have not been here before, it is not a sushi restaurant. If you want sushi go to Tokyo Town or Joe’s in Whittier, but this place has a wide range of Japanese food and is better for people who want to try a variety of foods. The sushi is okay, but you can get a better value other places. That being said, their service was great and they keep the dining area very clean. However, they did not have AC so it was pretty hot today. I would definitely go back, as it is pretty affordable and has good food.

This is a really nice place to visit and have some lunch. The service is very good and friendly. The price is right they don’t over charge. I will definitely be back here soon when I’m in the neighborhood.

We love this place! The food is excellent and the service is always friendly. My kids really like their beef teriyaki bowls, they are reasonably priced considering how much food you get. The sushi is always fresh and better than other places I’ve been to. My husband and I sometimes customize the rolls on the menu by adding extra sushi on top and surprisingly they never give us attitude but are super accomodating and polite. Overall, very good and consistent.

Typical Korean owned Japanese restaurant. Sushi was small and quality was weak. Teriyaki sauce and the chicken wasn’t very good. Service sucked too.

This is my first and always favorite sushi place. I’ll try other sushi places, but this one is always my favorite. One of those ‘hometown favorite’ kinda favorites. One true favorite. Forever favorite. Why? The complimentary miso soup is always the best. I favor it mostly because they don’t put onions in it, and for some reason the miso here is just the right flavor, with just enough wakame and tofu in it. Just right. A lot of places give you miso depending on what you order, but here? Before you even order anything, the waitress will bring you a hot bowl of miso. Everything else on the menu is pretty standard. I like the bento meal deals, I like the sushi rolls, I like the udon, and the appetizers are also great. They don’t try anything extraordinary with their menu, it’s all straightforward, which means they get to focus a lot more quality in their food rather than the frills. Little shop, not a good place to bring a big party bigger than six. Great lunch spot.

LOVE this place, I visit whenever I’m in town! The owners are super friendly, and the food is great. Highly recommend the Seattle roll and crunch roll. It can sometimes take a while to get the food, but it’s always worth it :) My biggest fear is that they’ll go out of business and I’d have to find a new fave sushi place

I ordered the chicken and beef bowl — the portion was huuuuge. The chicken was large, tender chunks — not like the overcooked chicken I get from most Japanese restaurants. It was also very flavorful. I was really surprised how delicious everything was. Unfortunately I was too full to try their new dessert — banana tempura. I must come back when I’m hungrier.
