Yummy sandwiches, friendly staff but really slow — the one guy was busy chatting with customers as he was making sandwiches and it didn’t seem he could really do both at the same time — less talk, more work. I felt sorry for the 6 people in line behind us.

Great customer service. Very clean and well stocked. All of the ingredients were fresh. Potato salad and macaroni salad available as sides. I really liked the various sandwich size options as well.

What a sad commentary for a business that has been part of our community for a number of years. I enjoy sub sandwiches. Over the years I had made a point to eat Port of Subs. On an occasion I would go to Subway. It Was alternative, however, it was not Port of Sub. Today, that changed. I went to the shop at Palm Desert, to see it was closed. I went to La Quinta and ordered a sandwich. Take out to my home and found it to be well below expectations. Drove 4 miles back and discussed with the individual about the freshness of the bread. He had no clue when bread was baked. What was amazing is that I asked to get the number of the manager, he informed me he was the manager, but had no idea when the bread was prepared. Subway is a contender and Jersey Mike’s is a great sandwich(why I did not go there, I don’t know). If Jimmy John’s comes to town, Port of Subs may be history. Too bad. Owner(s) better review the quality. I understand the concept of providing a quality product, I’m a businessman myself in the community. I doubt if I will come back to P is S.

Great customer service! Very friendly and the place is good in size and very clean! The food on the other hand lacked flavor since they don’t have a wide options of flavored for their breads. I wasn’t given an option of toasting the bread so I’m not sure if they do that as well.

This is the worst Port of Subs I have ever been to. On my first visit, the service was terrible and two employees chatted while my husband and I waited to start our order. We gave it another chance a few weeks later and had an even worse experience. The employees slopped all the ingredients on the sub… way too much of everything. Like another reviewer mentioned, the cashier sold me a fountain drink knowing that there was no ice. When we told him the ice was out, he replied, «I know.» Disgusted the service at this location!

Ordered two turkey subs and a drink. After paying, I had to remind the cashier to give me a cup for the drink. Upon heading for the drinks machine, I found that there was no ice. Went over and asked the guy if he had more ice, whereupon he came around, stared at the machine and said«Oh, yeah, we’re out.» I asked if he could get more ice, or if the machine would make more, and he replied that no, he did not have more ice and there was nothing he could do. I asked him what I was supposed to do with the cup he had sold me, and he helpfully replied that I could get a drink without ice. When I told him I did not want a drink without ice and asked for a refund, he told me he didn’t know how to give a refund. So, to recap: I was sold a cold drink by a person who knew they were out of ice. When asked, he acted surprised, suggested I drink a cup of tepid soda, and then informed me he couldn’t give me a refund. I will never come back here again, and neither should you. The sandwiches, as a post-script were mediocre.

This place SUCKS! Go elsewhere. I’ve been here four times now. 1st twice with my wife and then a couple times with a friend. EVERYTIME the customer service is «extremely terrible». BADBAD. They’ve been different employees 3 of 4 times and they all have the worst attitude of any establishment I’ve ever been to, and they move at a snails pace when there’s a line of people waiting for 15 – 20 minutes. They couldn’t care any less and it shows. I WILLNEVEREVERCOMEBACKTOTHISPLACEAGAIN. NEVER!

The sandwiches aren’t all that bad. I prefer them over subway’s sandwiches. My son likes to get double meat on the BLT and it’s a freaking monster of a sandwich. You get your money’s worth on that one. What I am not a fan of is the gal that works there on the day shift. She acts like she could care less that you are there, like you are a burden and looked at me like I was speaking another language when I told her what I wanted and then point to the sign on the post next to me. It was almost like she didn’t know they sold it. If you go at night it’s better service but I have noticed that they close early when they are slow which is a big pain in the butt. So overall, I guess roll the dice and see how your experience is.

This place was not worth it. The tomatoes were rotting in front of me and the avocado was subpar. It is way overpriced and you are much better off going to subway or togos for a fast food sandwich. Consider yourself warned

I’m a big fan of Port of Subs, but this location should be avoided. They intentionally keep the lighted open sign off so customers don’t come in. My friend and I were the only two people they made my sub, rung me up, and then started my friends food. He asked for BBQ Pork and the guy just started cutting salami and ham without saying anything, he then asked the other employee if they were out and she said yeah.(I’ve never been here when BBQ Pork was in stock). I asked for honey mustard and the guy didn’t know which bottle was which. Nor did he know which one was the BBQ sauce. Some of the worst customer service experienced and I do not advise anyone to waste their money here. There’s another Port of Subs down the road in Palm Desert. If you want to be treated like you’re a burden because you’re making them work, well you’ve found the right place!

we went to lunch there about a week ago for the first time. I had the turkey with provolone cheese and OMG it was soo darn good. it was the perfect size for me since i dont eat much. i thought it had enough meat and veggies. i added some chips and a drink for a total of $ 7 bucks. i was impressed. way better than subway subs. The girls were ok… they could be more friendly, but my sub was delicious! the soda i chose was watered down but i chose something else it was fine, no biggie. i will go there again for sure.

I have been to this place several times and the service just keeps getting worse. I ordered a sandwhich today around the lunch hour. There were 3 people incompetent people working at this place. The lettuce was low and the tomatoes were out. Instead of sending someone to the back to get more they said they were out. The lady tried to put as minimal amount of lettuce as possible to be able to serve the 4 customers that were present at the time of the order. I have had previous encounters where the people do not know what they are doing. One other incident, is someone didn’t know how to use the register with a card and took forever to get one customer checked out.

This place is horrible!!! I was in for lunch today and the service sucked! There were three girls working and even with the three of them they still couldn’t get anything right. They were out of pretty much everything and were too lazy to replenish anything. I’m pretty sure after this experience at this location today I will NEVER return! The owner might want to take a look at who he has employed there and fast!

Love this place! I go here all the time. My only complaint is the water tastes terrible. One of the best sandwiches I’ve had in the desert.

So my aunt and mother recommended this place to me so I decided to give it a try. For years now I’ve been on a search for the next best sándwich or burger. I usually compare to the best Ive has then the best locally. This place falla way short of both. The reason I gave 3 stars was because of customer service and the Bread. The Bread I give four stars. Falls short of a local deli whomakes their ownbread butis still pretty good. I got a few smal lsandwiches to try things out. Thr hot pastrami, cold ham, and egg and ham. They sliced the cheese and ham infront of me. Cheese was delicious. You could tell the ham was the cheapest one they could buy, but with the Bread and cheese it was a 3 stars sandwich. Guey microwaved the pastrami and and egg whic I expected. When I got the pastrami home it was so greesy and chewy I almost didnt eat it. The eggs were slighty better, but I didnt finish it. , Overall I place this place above subway, below quiznos and togos in that order. The price is about the same as quiznos, so its safe to say I will not be going back.

Port of Subs is so much better then Subway. I really recommend the smoked ham and cheese. I used to eat this all the time in Vegas and it’s where it’s at. If you have a Port Of Subs anywhere near you def give it a shot! I like mustard and I like mayo but there’s also just something special about«the mix»…

Maybe it was awful because it was 2pm and the lunch crowd was gone? The bread was a tasteless sourdough. Watching them cut a ham«roll» didn’t make it more appetizing and all the other stuff was cut from«end» pieces. At almost twice the price of Subway… hardly worth it. I eat for flavor and convenience not gimmicks.

I’ve been here once and thought they have a good concept. I have noticed that there are a couple of different chains that do the«cut the meat» when you order the sandwich. I like that! Big block of pastrami comes out, insert in slicer and away you go. It beats the hell out of Subway– where they pull their meat out of metal bins or from plastic wrap. Where the hell did that meat come from– one of those chicken egg farms. Not Port of Subs– no sir, cut it up right in front of my face. Good stuff. In addition, you can get smoothies for the kids on the cheap. And the workers were quite nice and helpful.

Kicked Subway’s ass. That’s for sure. Also, after a long hard day at Coachella, followed by a long hard day of lounging at the pool, a sandwich shop was the most creative we could get before starting the trek back to LA. I like that they shave the meat right there when they make your sub. That’s a nice touch. They do the same with the cheese, too. The turkey/ham on white is really good. Of course I got all the fixings. They load you up on avocado too. There’s no skimpiness here. All in all, a great stop in and get out of there sandwich shop. I’m going to try to find one here in LA. I’m afraid Subway will always seem disappointing after this.
