I called Dave a few months ago to help reconstruct and secure the brackets in my closet. it was for two bedrooms. In the beginning he called me back promptly and made an appointment to come see the job. He gave me an estimate of 125.00 for all three closets. he also told me he would come back the following week. However, that turned into several weeks which left me with my clothes hanging on an additional rack in the middle of my master bedroom. Finally when I did get a hold of him after numerous attempts where he did not even text me back, we made a date. When e came he rushed in and told me he had very limited time to do this job, that he was squeezing me into another bigger construction job. I thanked him and told him I really appreciated it. He completed the brackets in my master closet satisfactorily, however, then announced abruptly that he had no time to complete the job in the other closet. I paid him what we agreed upon 125.00 which I believed was for the entire job. When I contacted him to follow up when as to when he could finish the job he didn’t return my calls nor my text messages. When I finally reached him he was the vet with one of his dogs. I can understand that things in life come up. But a few days after he sent a text that he cant come back at all! He was too busy! I’m sorry but I found this very unprofessional! I am now left hanging with a much smaller job that was never completed that I will now have to pay someone else to finish! I previously lived in Los Angeles where I did a major renovation on my 1920’s Spanish home. I never experienced such unprofessional behavior before. I designed the plans and while I worked with a general contractor I also did a lot of the sub contracting myself. And subsequent to that I have had many smaller jobs done for me. Professionalism is a standard of work. Every one gets busy however, attitude and followup are important on every job no matter how small. I found Dave Rubarth very unprofessional. I’m sorry to say even though the work he did for me was adequate.
