Not a great choice for a late night meal. We arrived 30 minutes for a quick bite… Greeted immediately but we were rushed to order. We all continued to feel rushed through out the meal. Food and service are both medicore. The mango served on sushi rolls was still hard. Over all not worth. Better off waiting until another Sushi joint is open.

This is my favorite place for sushi! The lobster rolls are the bomb, the teriyaki dinner choices are a must, and the atmosphere its great for a large family with children. If you have to gone to this place, you must try.

Yesterday was my first time eating at Sam’s sushi. I didn’t know what to eat but my server, I believe her name was anis or anissa was very helpful and helped me pick the baked lobster roll. I enjoyed the roll very much and will be back soon.

Worst service ever! We were completely ignored! I was very disappointed because my family has been dinning there for years, this has never happened before. I believe they need a knew hostess that can over see if the table she seated has even been helped. Also I don’t understand why the owner doesn’t have more waiters. We waited and waited and then noticed people that were seated after us were being helped. We just got up and left.

The sushi is good and not too pricey, they have a ton of specialty rolls that are definitely interesting, but I stick to my good old fashioned salmon skin hand roll. No complaints about the food, but the staff could be a little more efficient and friendlier. They also have awesome lunch specials which is definitely a plus!

Favorite sushi place in the valley. Plenty of non sushi options. Staff is very attentive. Big restaurant with plenty of space. Sushi bar area next to the cooks is entertaining and great for eating alone.

Sam’s has consistently been fabulous with their menu. You need to get here early evening or your stuck waiting for a table. The young girls who are hostess’ and servers try to be good at what they do. But a bit more interest in customers and friendliness will go a long way. Especially with us older folks. Ok, now to the food. Bön and I like always, sat at the bar. I love to see the chefs work their magic. I ordered the Dragon Roll and Urchin nigri. Oh yea. The magical explosion of sea urchin when you put it in your mouth is… vondavah. The Dragon Roll is made with eel. So you know that was delish. Dip it in some soy sauce with wasabi, ooo la la. And help it down with some warm sake. Bön had some tempura, chicken, Cali roll plate. Pretty good as well. It was all so good. Place wasn’t crowded at all. Granted, I was here at 5. Early is good. You avoid the dinner crowd. Sam’s has that nice, relaxed atmosphere that will make it all that much better.

They have always had horrible service but my mom likes their food so I would just suck it up but today was the last straw SAM the owner himself brought us our food and my niece asked if he could cook her beef teriyaki well done and I wish I was joking when saying this but it really happened. His response was that he cannot cook her meat well done because they are too busy to cook it again and she did not have a choice. So I said to him«you are telling me that you will not cook her meat well done because you are too busy?» He said yes. We walked out paid for nothing and he gave us a scuff but him as a business owner especially of a restaurant people will always have different preferences and he needs to be able to meet them. Never again will I step in any restaurant he owns. I wish I can give zero stars!

Oh man, the smell in this place literally almost made me vomit. I had to turn around and leave. The person I was with wanted to use the bathroom before we left and I waited outside because it was so bad.

Stopped here for lunch and we were famished. Sushi was good but it seemed like the rolls all tasted the same. I have edited my review based on the fact that I decided to give them 4 stars. Three stars for the food and the extra star for the great customer service… The servers were very nice and always smiling.

Best sushi I’ve had in a long time. Fresh tasting. Especially loved the baked salmon rolls, the green zone sea weed salad over spicy tuna. Definitely going back.

Sushi was awesome. I love all their unique rolls, especially the Mango Roll. Loved the ambience of the restaurant. The service was also great! My friend and I went on a busy Saturday night and nonetheless, we were served right away and our waiter never failed to come by to ask if we needed anything. Definitely a place I will be returning to for my sushi cravings :)

Amazing food! I was very impressed with the food and the service. Came here for lunch on Saturday and the food was delicious! Very good. It was quite crowded but the service was constant. Our waitress kept checking up on us so I was in and out very quickly. I would recommend the Mango Roll, Rainbow Roll, and the Red Hot roll. These three rolls were very fresh and so savory. Next time I’ll be back for dinner so I can try more food. The dinner special looked pretty good!

After reading the reviews I would have expected much more from Sam’s Sushi. Unfortunately it was a fail. The roll and cut of the sushi itself was amateurish. It totally fell apart when I tried to pick it up. The sashimi was so think and cut so badly it was inedible. It wasn’t fresh either. It was just all around poor quality. The service, on the other hand, was fine. I don’t remember seeing our waitress at the end but there were other severs that got us our check and finished the process. Luckily there are many other sushi restaurants in town.

I really enjoyed the food here. I had a lunch box and really enjoyed the salmon teriyaki, spicy tuna roll, and salad. I also had the Temaki spicy tuna roll because I was still hungry. That was great as well! What I really like is the portion size. They gave large portions of fish, and that was super cool. To spend only $ 17.77 on what I ate is really a great deal! And the server was attentive and nice. Really impressed overall! I also came in early, FYI. So, it wasn’t busy at all. I don’t know how it is when there’s a crowd.

Sensational It really is as good as it gets! I have been coming to Sam’s Sushi since it opened and it is by far my favorite sushi restaurant in the world. Trust me, I have had my fair share of sushi in both Southern and Northern California, East Coast, and Europe… La Quinta is where its at. My parents and I are the most loyal customers and are very proud of the heights this restaurant has reached. Their prestigious customer service, food quality, and overall experience is one I would never trade. My favorite roll is the Sunshine roll(pictured below) and is beyond exquisite. When I go with my entire family, we tend to order the family boat which is one of the many things that makes Sam’s Sushi so special. Their location at The River is also wonderful but I prefer their first location in La Quinta. I will continue to be the most loyal customer to Sam’s and I wish them the best in the sushi industry here in the Coachella Valley!

I came here for lunch with my sister. We ordered the Dragon roll with unagi, and the mango roll. Food was promptly brought to us. We waited about 5 minutes which is really good for lunch time. Food was great, Unagi was the best… The only drawback with to the plates are chipped and old. I think that they should be replaced… Overall I would come here again.

The sushi at this location is good. I like the décor at the Rancho Mirage location better. Their spicy tuna is really good — love getting the spicy tuna hand-roll with extra of the veggies they put inside. The cucumber is so delicious — a variety of fish inside wrapped around a cucumber! They put masago on top with maybe ponzu? But it’s absolutely delicious. The mango roll — extra mango & jalapeño Cucumber roll Spicy tuna roll Dune Palms roll — topped with deep fried onions Shrimp Tempura Roll Spider Roll those rolls are my personal favorite Their ramen & sukiyaki is pretty good too!
