I had high expectations, but was ultimately disappointed. We have had an occasional cocktail and appetizer in the bar and also at their previous location, which have always been enjoyable. However, last night was our first experience having dinner in the dining room. To start, both owners tried to convince us to eat in the bar, which surprised me since I had asked the hostess for a table in the dining room. Second, the owners tried to talk us out of a bottle of wine that we were ordering and, in fact, we actually liked very much once we were served it. Finally, I ordered the chicken linguine and the pasta was served lukewarm and the chicken was room temperature. Although it took a few minutes to find the waitress, it was returned and replaced. On the plus side, my wife ordered the fettuccine Alfredo, which was respectable, and our friend ordered grilled salmon with a pomegranate sauce that was above par. There is a very good wine selection(it is a wine bar after all) and the ambiance is very nice. This is a place that shows well and the bar is a safe go-to, so it’s a good place to take guests from out of town for cocktails, a nice glass of wine, and bar food. If i could, i would give the bar a 3.5 and the dining room a 2.0.

Very overpriced for the quality. The fish and scallops were very fishy with remedially cooked sides. Bad appetizers. Sluggish service but mainly food was pitiful. dint waste your money here.

So much potential wasted. Again, another restaurant with an opportunity to be ahead of the pack with a unique concept and great location, but afraid to take the risk. Same freaking menu as everyone else with just a unique item here and there. I am so tired of every restaurant in the desert having the same items on their menu as everyone else. Meatball sliders, pork tacos, bbq pork pulled sandwich… all the same boring food as the rest. Pork tacos were good especially the green salsa and their homemade guacamole. Humus is store bought, so stay away. Charcuterie platter needs some work. $ 18 for 6 pcs of cured meat and a boat load of different cheeses and breads. The charcuterie platter was good, but not great. Definitely not worth the $ 18. Meatball slider okay. Cocktails and wine were the best deal for happy hour just because ofb th e higher quality offering. If the owners would let the chef be creative, and let him or her create some unique items to go with their outstanding wine selection, they would have an absolute hit on their hands. Unfortunately, they seem to be afraid to take the leap of faith making them just ho hum. Service was outstanding.

A gorgeous, gorgeous place. We sat in the courtyard and I could not stop gazing around. It is off the beaten path so we just happened to notice it while going by. The lunch menu is simple but filled with delicious options. They also offer a full service bar, minus blended, frozen drinks. The owner and I had a good laugh about his lack of blenders. Since I was on a lunch break, I did not have a drink from the bar. However, I did have an Arnold Palmer and it was delicious. I got the tomato basil Flatbread pizza and was more than pleased. It was filling but light enough to not leave me feeling overly full and sleepy. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will be back again to try the dinner menu.

In town for a couple days and we were looking for a nice warm bowl of soup and a nice, relaxing, casual setting. Well, we got a couple of them. We looked over the menu and saw there were soups of the day. The soup was Tomato Basil and NE Clam Chowder. We went in, the bar was open and it was nice, relaxing but casual — not so much. We totally felt out of place, the crowd was not our style. The service matched our impression. We received our soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Remember we were looking for something warm. The chowder was hot and the tomato basil was cold. The middle of the soup was cold. We returned it only to receive it back luke warm.(If a customer returns it because of cold the returned bowl should be hot.) The overall experience was so-so. If we were to return to LaQuinta we would not return to the The Wine Bar Bistro.

I’m not your typical wine bar type of guy but this isn’t your typical wine bar. The place is set up more like a restaurant with bar /lounge. Big plus for me since I’m really not into wine and there is a full bar and a dinner menu. The dinner menu is limited but I can tell you what we did tried was very good. I had the wedge salad and a meaty pizza. It was very good. Another person in the group ordered the short ribs, let me tell you this stuff was off the hook good. We all tried a piece and we all wish we would have ordered it. Sine I’m not a wine guy I had a couple Grey Goose dirty martinis. They were good enough and having options other than wine and beer was nice. The service was great but I wasn’t feeling the live music.

Great spot in Old Town La Quinta. Staff is super knowledgeable about the wines, and the owners hand select all offerings! Food is delish, and service is always with a smile.

Food and music were par. We had a really hard time with the service. I told the waitress that this was our first time here and still no love… throughout the evening. We will go back to give the place a second chance of what seems to be my wife’s and my kinda place… TBD.

This is a very cool place that all the smart locals like to hang out. They do have an excellent selection of wines by the glass and there sandwiches are great choice if you want to eat light but not to light. They just recently moved to what I think is a better location. So after work grab a seat and enjoy the wine.

We were excited to see a new face at the former Desert Sage. Great location and many choices of dining experience. The bar, a casual dining area and a more formal dining area. Service was friendly, and responsive. Wine list impressive. Food and presentation were excellent! Not a large menu, but good selection. Highly recommend it!

This place is awful, thinking we were coming at 5pm for happy hour like they say. We ended up drinking 2 glasses of wine each between the three of us and our bill was a ridiculous amount. When we asked about it the waitress told us that they do not offer happy hour on wine! Really a wine bar doesn’t offer happy hour on wine? We were not told at all that the only thing not on happy hour is wine! The owner came down and talked to us and was a complete jerk, instead of trying to listen to the customer he argued and got angry. Do not come here it is not worth your time or money!!!

I went to the new venue and it is a very different experience than The Wine Bar was. Although it is very nicely done and appreciate the bigger menu and cocktails, I do I miss the patio and the windows. The blonde bartender really could use a lesson or two in customer service. I would have had a much different and better experience if she would treat the customers as if she actually enjoys her job and people. Congratulations to the owners!

This restaurant has only been open for 3 weeks in this location. It is the old Desert Sage. Great locarion! The bar area was packed with a very lively and friendly crowd. The current menu has mostly small plates with a few dinner entrees. I had the white fish. Simple preparation but delicious. Others in the party elected to do small plates… Grilled scallops, crab cake slaw, wedge salad, fries. The wine list is excellent and there is a wine tasting option, too. We are looking forward to coming back soon. Service was excellent. Wish you could make reservations on Open Table. This will be crowded in Season.

We went last night and had the salmon and the new York steak. Excellent! Nice size portions cooked perfectly. Great wine selection(of course). Very attentive staff and the owners are always there with a smile to greet you. Highly recommend trying this place.
