This place was absolutely delicious! Me and a friend came in at 5 on a Tuesday and were not sure if it was open it was still early though so we weren’t too worried when no one else was here yet. We ordered the Lamb Tikka Marsala, Coconut chicken curry, both medium spicy, and garlic naan. The nann was so crispy and delicious I kept dipping it in the curry and Marsala. The chicken and lamb were both cooked perfectly and I don’t usually like lamb because it’s too dry but this was so juicy like it had been marinated for a hundred years. I couldn’t put down my fork. When the dishes came out I thought that the sizes were not going to be enough food but to my surprise, me and my man friend were unable to finish any of it and are stoked for left overs tonight!

If I were rating them simply on the quality of their breads and specialty beverages, this would be a five star review. You will not find better breads anywhere. There are some creative lemonades that are wonderful as well. As for their food, nothing wrong with it. Nothing terribly memorable there. Order a lot of naan and you won’t care.

I am a lover of Indian food through and through. I stumbled onto this restaurant for their lunch buffet one Saturday afternoon with high hopes. The staff was very kind, the atmosphere was decent and I liked the small grocer hiding in the corner; although tiny it had fun products that are sometimes hard to find. But the food let me down. I was excited to see the many options from Chana Masala to Butter Chicken to Saag Paneer. Overall it’s really a nice selection, but the quality was poor. The curry was very runny and tasted like I was eating spiced infused water with clumps of chicken. I tried a handful of their curries and none of them were worth seconds. I was disappointed I couldn’t finish a plate and paid nine dollars for watery curry. To me the best items served was the naan and basmati rice, but any basic Indian restaurant should have those down regardless. Overall, a disappointing experience.

Food was pretty good; it’s our second time here. Not bad but not the bees knees. We were close and wanted Indian. Prices are decent. I had the lamb vindaloo which had very little lamb and lots of potatoes. My daughter enjoyed her coconut curry lamb. Hubby and son liked their rice dishes with prawn, lamb… We get naan at every Indian place we go to and the garlic naam is awesome. Tasted the rice pudding which was only okay bit suprisingly, the rose-coconut ice cream was really good. A bit chunky but with all the goodness in it, I can’t imagine it being any othwr way. Altogether, a decent place to eat Indian IF you’re in the area.

Reached this place just couple of minutes before closing but the owner were kind enough to accommodate me and my order. Food was delicious that I ordered.

My first visit here, on a Saturday evening. The good: really yummy food! Mango lassi and saag paneer(they called it something else but«saag» is what I know it as; spinach paneer) was soooo good. Waitstaff was friendly and prompt. The meh: it was kindof expensive, but I’m a little new to the area, so it might be reasonable… The huh?: it was totally empty, which surprised me. I was the only patron the whole time I was there. But they have a lounge; maybe there were people in there. The conclusion: I am looking forward to coming back, and would recommend it to friends.

Worst Indian food I ever had. We had ordered take out once and the butter chicken was amazing. Lunch buffet was disgusting, the chicken was mostly fat and grizzles. The«curry» looked tasted like broth. All the sauces were too thin and tasteless not to mention greasy. It pained me to pay since all I ate was bread. The lady serving us was rude and appeared annoyed when we asked to see a menu. Do not waste your money.

This is definitely not Curry Corner but I wanted to give them a fair try once more. The chai is not sweetened here but there’s plenty of sugar at your table. The restaurant is always clean and hardly ever has more than 2 tables occupied. I had the mildly spiced lentil and bean dal, my husband had the chicken masala. The dal was so mildly spiced I couldn’t make out they were spiced at all. My husband said he wished his masala was a bit creamier. The nan however, would make me come back for it alone. The veggie pakora is well spiced and perfectly cooked. This is another food I’d come back for. The ladies bathroom, although clean, smells like sewer. I don’t remember this being the case a few years back but it definitely is now. They have groceries now too. So if you are hunting for that one ingredient you can’t find at your favorite store, you might find it here.

I love this place. I’m so confused by all of the negative reviews on here. I come pretty regularly for take-out. It’s true the karaōke can be loud next door and that there are rarely more than three tables of patrons. But, whatever. I go to restaurants to eat good food, and that has been my experience at Passage to India. Also, the service *is* really good; the employees are so sweet. Out of the dozen or so dishes I’ve tried, I’ve only had one that wasn’t especially exciting, and even that one wasn’t bad.(the Navrattan Korma is my favorite). Also, in regards to portions, I always get three meals out of one dish. At most restaurants I only get two meals per dish. So, I disagree with the claims about the portions being small. I definitely recommend Passage to India. I’ve taken company there and they are always equally impressed(and confused by the negative reviews). It’s a great, and apparently underrated, place.

I hadn’t eaten here in a few years because I hadn’t had good experiences the last few times I went, but my daughter and I were running errands nearby and the buffet sounded simple and quick. Unfortunately we were disappointed. I tried 6 different dishes and not one of them was very good. Not very flavorful and all the ingredients seemed cheap. For example the butter chicken seemed to be tomato soup with cream and some spices. Nothing I tasted had much complexity, which is what I Love most about Indian food. The only thing I can say was really good was the garlic nan. Go to Curry Corner if you want really good Indian food.

In truth, I was a bit concerned when I came here for dinner and didn’t see a single person in here for a good few minutes. But after ordering some curry and getting our drinks, I couldn’t be happier that we dined here. This is definitely a hidden gem in the area and gets a perfect score for me based off the excellent garlic naan and chicken tikka masala. The fact that it’s got a store and lounge inside just adds extra charm to it.

I cannot speak to the food because it was after 9:30 and their bar didn’t serve food. I went for a friends birthday party and was excited for some karaōke. In the past we have always had a good time. However, the host Becky seems to be a girl with a toy she likes to turn up loud. It wasn’t about singing and fun. It was so loud. The expressions on peoples faces, people plugging their ears, and even Scott the bartender asked her to it down. She refused. We will never come here again!

The taste of the food was mostly good but the portions were Soooo meager especially at the price that they charge. You will leave hungrier then when you came. Again the taste wasn’t so bad. Also the bathrooms smelled horrid.

Best Indian food in Thurston County. While I’m usually disappointed with Indian that isn’t homemade(or from an Edison, NJ restaurant), this place is passable. Recommend mutter paneer, aloo ghobi, and vegetable pakoras. [Stay away from the buffet, however. Bland, watered down, and stale. And the ambiance leaves something to be desired. Indeed, best bet: take-away.]

We had a gift certificate on a mobile restaurant app that brought us in. When we got there, there was only one other couple in the place at 6:30 on a Friday night. That should have been a clue… We ordered Vegetable Korma, Tandoori Chicken and Karahi Gosht. The food was OK. The vegetable Korma was edible, the Karahi gosht was pretty flavorful– for chicken breast(not Lamb!!)… The kids liked the tandoori chicken, even though it was slathered in Chili garlic sauce from the asian market and cooked to a bone dry crisp on the bottom. The service was lack-luster, the only music was the shitty jukebox blaring from the bar which made it a little awkward. The womens restroom smelled awful. I’m not sure what’s going on there. I hope the kitchen is cleaner or I may have another review to write about the food poisoning. When I told the server that we had the gift certificate on the app and showed it to her, she said we would have to have a printed version(I’ve never encountered this before using this app) and that we could bring it in next time we came. If you read this review, it’s pretty clear that I already did not plan on coming again. Ever. I asked to speak to the manager and she said the owner was not available and I could not use my $ 25 gift certificate if it wasn’t printed, so I took my children to Office Depot to print it out. Then, they still tried to charge us extra, even after they had the printed version of the certificate. I can not believe how rude they were about this and if the over priced, so-so food didn’t keep me from returning, the awful attitude of the woman we dealt with sure will. I definitely DONOT recommend!

If you like Indian food I believe you will find yourself satisfied — but if you are looking for a friendly neighborhood watering hole — their lounge is your place! Great bar staff — friendly faces and excellent customers! They offer Karaōke every Friday and Saturday night from 9 pm to close — Happy Hour from 3pm — 7pm — daily drink specials, pool table, TV’s and a great place to hold any event because they cater to your needs and requests unlike any other bar in town! Check them out!

Pros: Great service, generosity, and an excellent little«sweets and spices» shop. Great Garlic Naan, and the buffet came with extra naan served at my table. Cons: I was chagrined to find ranch dressing where I’d hoped Raita would be. I found the curries were rather bland, but then again I was raised on the traditional stuff, and you have to keep in mind that a lot of the buffet dishes are watered down for Western palates. Dinner looks more promising as you can likely order things with a little more heat.

Passage to India has some really good food that blows the place in downtown Olympia out of the water. The prices are a little high, but that’s expected with Indian food. Every time I’ve gone there, the wait staff has been kinda unfriendly but nothing that would prevent me from going back. If you like this place, I would strongly suggest checking out Curry Corner in lacey. You can get twice as much food for 80% of the price and about ten minutes of driving.
