We are glad we found Laconia Village Bakery to make our wedding cake. They make wedding cakes at a good price. Much less than going to a «Wedding Cake Specialist.» They were able to make us a 3 tier cake that looked like a birch tree, with pumpkin and chocolate cake and cream cheese frosting. The cake was delicious and decorated beautifully! We want to go back to Laconia Village Bakery whenever we are in the lakes region again! Zac & Amanda Harwood 10.3.15

I had soup and a sandwich here about a week ago, was very good! I also used to stop here frequently in the summer during the weekly thursday farmers market in downtown. Very good every time I have been here and everything tastes very fresh.

I can’t believe I missed this site. I love the Bakery. I have NEVER had anything bad there. Great food, good sized portions, super staff — half the times I don’t have to actually order — they know what I will choose from the selection of daily specials when I walk in the door. I won’t focus on any one menu item as, seriously, it is all good, but I do love the trio salads in the summer. Daily soups, 3 – 4; daily quiche; many different specials — and all good! Getting hungry just typing this.

After living here for 20 years, and never going inside this little bakery, I’ve now been in about 5 times in two weeks. What took me so long?! Their baked goods, which change somewhat daily, are head and shoulders above the local markets(Hannaford, Shaws, etc.), especially the oversized Russian Tea Cakes, the Cookies(shortbread, oatmeal, choc chip, the usual suspects; all are great), the Strudel(would have been happy with just the Raspberry, but it also had almond paste in the bottom: 5 out of 5 stars!) and various Bars(e.g., Chocolate Cheesecake). This morning I got a large Cheese Danish, and would have been happy with just the pastry part of it, it was that good. The first time I went in they had some great looking 7″ Banana Crème pies for $ 5; which I passed on and have not seen since, but have not stopped thinking about. So, basically, I’m addicted. They’re also apparently known for their lunch options(see other review), but I haven’t yet ventured beyond the pastries. Come to think of it, I’d better do so soon, as I don’t want to be writing another review after many more years that starts like this one did!

WOW! Why am I the first to review this place? It’s been around for a while. I started grabbing lunch here a few months ago and have gone back several times. They have a salad that I cannot recall the name of. It is basically a salad with curried rice, beets, and hummus. Really tasty. I think the hummus is a little too garlic-y for my taste but I end up eating all of it every time. The people I work with know when I’ve had that for lunch. I have also had their chicken salad and several of their soups. Everything is excellent. The only gripe I have is that they only take cash. I’d probably come back more often if they took a card because I rarely carry cash around. The bread is made fresh on premise and honestly everything here is excellent. Friendly counter help.
