I came in looking to buy hair coloring products, but was clueless of what to buy. Missy went out of her way to walk me through each step of the hair dying process and helped me find the right products. I left feeling confident with my products and the new knowledge I got from her. She really showed great customer service and genuine care for her customer. Thanks Missy!

This location is one of the most knowledgeable planet beauty locations i have been to!!! My hair turned extremely dry and brittle after bleaching it. The sales associate, Anissa, has nursed my hair back to health!!! She recommended amazing products from shampoos to leave in conditioners and even the proper hot tools to use. I have received numerous comments on how healthy my hair looks now. I trust her reconditions on everything now! My make is flawless now too thanks to her! If you need beauty help trust Anissa! This location is my go to.

It seems to be a general employment qualification to be rude and cold. The shopping center is generally bustling, warm and inviting, as is much of Ladera Ranch businesses. I’ve frequented the surrounding businesses such as the PO box a few doors down (some of the nicest people, I swear!) The Thai restaurant across the street (always a lighthearted environment where the waiters joke with you and make you feel welcome), and Selmas across the way (consistently great service across the board.) But the Planet Beauty is a black sheep in this shopping center.
I suppose I’ve been spoiled by generally kind faces and warm welcomes, but this must be one of the first times I’ve stepped into a store without even a nod in my direction. Typically I would get a smile from some employees or business owners at other establishments, but I was surprised!
I didn’t even come in to browse, I came in looking for products! I wondered if it was the way I dressed, or the fact that I didn’t do my hair this morning. But besides the fact, I was so surprised I paced back and forth in the haircare aisle looking for product, without a single «Hi, how are you doing?» «Do you need help?» Not even a glance in my direction!
Of course I purchased a product, but I was bluntly reminded to never come back! The service was atrocious! I am not typically one who requires excellent customer service, but I wanted to at least be acknowledged!
Besides, the selection is poor, and the products were dusty. I asked if they offered a certain product and was rudely reminded that what they have is out on the shelves (despite the boxes of product I saw on their cart).
Never ever come back! Angel’s down the street can take care of you.

I come here every now and then, and always leave happy. The girls here are so knowledgable, they always give me great recommendations for products. They also have a great candle selection, voluspa is my favorite!

Planet beauty in Ladera Ranch is one of my favorite go to places when it comes to hair products they have a very large variety of shampoos, conditioners, lotions, hair dyes, candles, hair straighteners, face products,.etc.
I mainly go to this hot spot for my hair products I rarely come here to buy makeup I’m very specific to the makeup brands I use, however allot of the makeup they have here is good quality and always fun!
The costumer service at this planet beauty location is amazing! The girls that work here are so helpful and nice from the minute you walk in to the minute you walk out! They know what they are selling and they know the products very well. Every time in have gone to this planet beauty I have been helped and treated great!
I love coming here because they always have the little extras I need for when I dye (DIY) my own hair or highlight it, such as clips to keep hair in tact, gloves to not get dye one fingers all sizes, grain bases bleach (it’s great so you don’t ruin your hair vs. Traditional hair bleach), they have an amazing variety of wonderful smelling lotions and candles my favorites! I’m a candle person and I come here from time to time to randomly get a nice beautiful scented candle or two;), the matrix shampoos are on one of my too favorites and they just have the best scented stuff for your hair!
For when it’s Christmas time they have a beautiful collection of items that are great gift givers or maybe just even for yourself to have with good deals as well! I come here to get some oft girlfriends and sisters/​mom some birthday gifts and they always love them! If your looking for a way to save some money you should sign up to planet beauty to revive coupons for some money off your next purchase or item. I use my coupons when I remember I have them, one of the great things about the coupons they send out is that they come by email so it’s easy to just pull out your cell phone device and use your coupon for your discount.
I’m giving this planet beauty 5 stars because I just love the atmosphere and the lady’s who work here and products are awesome!

For the most part, I like this store. It has most of the hair products I need. Prices are a little high but coupons & groupons make the cost easier to swallow. Customer service is decent but not great. Gigi, the manager is the gem in this joint. She is helpful and knowledgable. I shop here from time to time because it is close and convenient.

Gimmick return policies and salespeople with BAD attitudes… Very poor people skills
Inconsistent discount pricing. I get the whole vendor discount denial but I was told it depends on what day of the week it is whether or not you are eligible to receive the promotional spend certain amount and get 25.00 off. The salesperson was very condescending and dismissive in her attitude with a very poor outcome for me the customer. Have been a great customer for a long time but unfortunately they have lost me as a customer. I am also in the customer service industry but at the executive level and would never let customer dissatisfaction get to this level. Tried to reach the corporate office (during regular business hours) but after they give you the prompt
It disconnects and I was not able to either leave a voicemail either automated or otherwise. I guess Planet Beauty has so much $$$ they don’t really care about customer service and or satisfaction ! Oh I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

It is not too often that I give one star reviews, but I was very disappointed with this location of Planet Beauty. This is one of their smaller locations and the service I received here was rude and arrogant. I have frequented the location in the Irvine Spectrum with never this same type of service. I stopped in the store because I was at the nearby Albertson’s. I went in and asked if they carried Zoya nail polish. The first salesperson who I talked to said no without even looking around and proceeded to give me a very condescending look. I was a bit flabbergasted and should have walked out but I said ok and proceeded to go look at their other nail polishes. I heard the other salesgirl say something to the other girl and then come up to me and say, we do have one set of Zoya polishes and proceeded to show the set to me. Even though she was trying to be nice, I was so disgusted at that point, I said thank you, looked at the set and walked out.
Since there are a multitude of Sephora and Ulta stores around and since the Irvine Spectrum Planet Beauty store is a bigger location and has helpful staff, I really don’t think I will be setting foot in this store again.

I have to say that they have the greatest staff at this location. I know the store can be a little pricey and I don’t like how the coupons can’t be used for bare minerals, but everytime I need help finding something or need an opinion there is someone there to help. I was clueless about finding hair color and the girl came over and asked me questions and even matched my hair to the samples in the book. She did a great job and I really appreciate that she took the time to explain it to me and make sure I had all of the supplies I need. Everyone always seems excited about the products. I will be back because of the great customer service.

Cool place, the girls are always nice, the product is good and it’s in a good location. The pricing is good too, you can find stuff for a good price and I don’t feel ripped off like I did at Palace Beauty in Irvine.

I love coming in here just to snoop, I usually walk out with a great new find. The staff is amazingly helpful, the first time I went in they helped me find the perfect hair mask, and I went back in 2 weeks later and the girl who helped me remembered me and asked how it worked, and pointed me to a shampoo that worked well with it, and it did! They are helpful and informed. They also don’t mind screaming kids (the love keeping my toddler distracted). They also have a great section of candles/​aromatherapy, great for gifts! The selection of makeup, haircare, etc is out of this world, I love it!
