Arreola Landscape and Pool Design

Malrie and Carlos recently completed a landscape update on my outdoor space. They have a great design sense that fit well with our Eichler house. We are now set with drought resistent, low maintenance plants trees and bushes. They are very professional in that we thoroughly talked through plans, and they handled challenges well. As we added scope they were fair and integrated it into the schedule. They have a fantastic team that do quality work. There were no shortcuts, and we worked through the details until we were all happy. They are the type to enjoy a good finished product as much as the client. It has been 6 weeks since completion, all the hard scape work looks and functions beatifully and all the plantings are already filling in.
I highly recommend Arreola. We are going to enjoy our outdoor space for years thanks to them.

Malrie and Carlos are superb landscape and pool designers. Last summer we purchased a lovely 30-​year old home with a pool that needed not only repairs (to the pool deck and the pool itself), but also updating to a more modern aesthetic. After years of just basic gardening service, the back yard also needed attention in terms of landscaping and drainage. Malrie and Carlos made great recommendations on how to renovate the pool and pool deck to make both more functional and beautiful. They also provided fantastic advice on how to create a focal point in the back yard by planting some hardy but beautiful, drought-​resistant plants and shaping trees and shrubs (and removing some dead shrubs and trees). Everything is low-​maintenance in terms of water requirements – thanks not only to the choice of plants, but also the watering system they installed. Oh, and did I mention that all the water flowed out of the property perfectly during the worst of El Nino thanks to the French drains they installed? Malrie and Carlos communicated very clearly what everything would cost and, although we got so excited about the work-​in-​process that we expanded the project, there were no surprises on the final bill. Malrie, Carlos and their team are also delightful people to work with – very dependable, cheerful and respectful of the fact that people are living in a home while the work is being done. They really want their clients to be happy with their work. I would recommend Malrie and Carlos without reservation to anyone who wants to turn their outdoor space into an area that is beautiful and functional.

Malrie and Carlos do everything well. We wanted to convert our small backyard into a place fun for teenagers to hang out, and our ideas became reality painlessly with the help of Carlos and Malrie. Installed a pool, hot tub, waterfall into the pool, outdoor kitchen, firepit, arbor and lots of landscaping (both front and backyards). The end results are nothing short of amazing, leaving us feeling like we have another room to our house that happens to be outdoors! Carlos led the workmanship, and his crew got everything done right. And the team was very gracious during the 3-​month project. And Malrie has a fantastic eye for design, helping us visualize what we wanted, then giving sound advice on how to bring it to life. She has strong and creative opinions, but she also never wavers from the understanding that it’s the client’s project. Her personal commitment was so strong that we could feel she wanted to stay in the finished backyard and hang out — she loves it that much. If you consider this group to do your work, know that the quality will be there and the partnership will be positive. With any projects there can be bumps in the road, and every time Carlos and Malrie did the right thing. We love what we have, but an unrelated contractor happened to see the finished project and said the following after seeing the work…‘you have the best house in the neighborhood after this.’ Thank you, Carlos and Malrie!

We couldn’t be more pleased with the work Malrie and Carlos did for us!!! We have a completely new front yard. The design is beautiful– a dry creek that looks real with
drought-​tolerant plantings surrounding it. The driveway and walks transformed the look of
our home. Work was done on time, on budget, and with the nicest crew you could hope
to have work on your home. We have no hesitation to recommend them, and hope that they
will be able to transform our back yard in the spring.

I can’t rave about Malrie and Carlos enough! After 4 years of our backyard being overrun by our dogs, we decided to do a remodel to get ready for Summer. We wanted to change our horrid lawn to beautiful stamped/​stained concrete, create a dog run, plant some trees along our fence, add some outdoor lighting, rebuild our patio cover, and install an outdoor electrical outlet. Their pricing was actually on the lower end of the bids we received, but the quality of their work was as if we paid the big bucks! They responded quickly to all of my questions and clearly communicated the process with me. I’ve never done a remodel project with a contractor before, and feared that I would be taken advantage of (which nearly happened with the contractor that contacted me before Malrie and Carlos), but Malrie explained the contract to me clearly and even taught me things to equip me in dealing with contractors for future projects. I truly appreciated this. I worried that they wouldn’t be able to start the project until we were well into Summer, but they figured out a way to schedule us in between two other major projects and got everything done faster than we expected! Carlos managed the entire project onsite and his team was made up of the nicest guys! As the project went along, there were things that I decided to add, and they were awesome at accommodating those additions. Also, with all design choices, Malrie and Carlos were great at suggesting cost-​effective options. They definitely went the extra mile for us, and we highly recommend them!

Very talented landscape designer! Malrie came up with some beautiful designs and great money saving suggestions for our home in Harbor Bay in Alameda. She transformed what was an ugly patio space to a beautiful Tranquil haven! I couldn’t believe how quickly they got the job done. The guys who implemented the design were fast, efficient and did an amazing job!

I hired Arreola to do some work around the yard. I saw that they did some great work around the neighborhood and so, I decided to hire them. They were very responsive and kept me in the loop at all steps. Bid, pricing and contracting was very smooth. I did call their references and all gave glowing reviews. I visited some of their projects in other cities and those looked great. We had some ideas and they were able to create a design that worked for us. I liked that design was all inhouse and did not cost any extra. Crew was attentive and responsive and tried to take care of existing landscape. Price was a bit on the higher side, but their attention to customer service was top notch, so it made it worth while. I would use them again for future projects.

When my husband and I decided to re-​landscape our front yard, we didn’t really know where to begin. We knew we wanted to tear out the lawn, and make the shift to a yard requiring less water, in addition to adding some hardscape and lighting. Malrie did a fabulous job of designing a beautiful yard with features we wanted, as well as some we hadn’t even considered. They did my backyard and I love everything they did! On time an On budget. They brought my vision to life. If ever I had a question someone can be reached with a prompt reply. LOVE LOVE them! If I had to do it all again there isn’t anyone else I would call!
