Fuck this place, full of pretentious pricks. We walked up and stood at the bar to be ignored. There were reserved tables that had a 45 minute past due reservation that we were told we could not take. I would not waste my time or effort for these assholes

Beautiful views are what to be expected here, but yes they were amazing. The Rooftop lounge was the perfect place to escape the after Valentines Day Traffic. Nice open space to enjoy a drink and some good appetizers. Service was ok but they could definitely step it up a bit for what you’re paying here but hey we are deep in the OC. The drinks looked pretty good but we stuck with wine, plenty of wine, which of course made is order some food which was pretty good. The coconut shrimp was pretty tasty and the salmon was really really good and full of flavor. Definitely my favorite. For dessert we opted for the berry cheesecake and what can I say it was really good. The server offered us a blanket when it got a bit chilly but I politely said no as being a bit on the OCD side I wondered how often they get washed. So yeah no thanks. Enjoyed the food and drinks, the service was ok, but the views more than made up for it. Really enjoyed my time here and when we left traffic was much better.

Nice place to get drinks and enjoy the beach on a nice weather day. Sunset is beautiful here! It may be hard to get a table because the place is always packed. Try to call them, they may take reservation.

The bartender(believe his name was Pete, at least that’s what was on my receipt but I could be wrong) was awesome. The drinks were very good *Sangria is my personal fave* However the seating situation is freaking ridiculous. We stood up the whole time facing the street(no oceanview for us) and getting a seat is almost near impossible. It sucks for those who are sitting down because their every move is being watched by those waiting for a table. It sucks for all involved. We didn’t get to try the food because… well… we had no where to sit or even put a plate. I appreciate the bartender taking care of us the way he did though.

I’m surprised at such low reviews, this place is really nice! Even though it took a couple of min to find a table(there was a lot of people), the food was great, and the waitress had no problem bringing another drink after I told her the drink wasn’t strong enough and let’s not forget the view! I loved this place!

The view of the beach here is amazing but the drinks and food are unnecessarily pricey and the idea of having to hunger games your way into grabbing a table is kind of stressful. My friends and I decided to check out this place and ordered fruit mojitos and some chips and salsa(cheapest on the menu). The fruit mojitos did not meet our expectations on being fruit-flavored. My berry mojito tasted like a regular mint mojito and so did my friends’ mango mojitos. Yes there were chunks of fruit in the drinks but the flavor did not come through. The chips and salsa were pretty tasty but it’s hard to go wrong with that. The view was beautiful and it was great to be able to come to a rooftop lounge and enjoy amazing weather on a day like Christmas Eve but I probably will not come back.

They stop serving lunch at 2:30, we got here at 2:35 and we got rushed into choosing because it was last call. I asked if there was a different menu and got a sassy, «No we don’t.» Why is water $ 2 for one bottle… I’m pretty sure water is supposed to be free… there was no option given for tap or anything. The waitress wasn’t friendly and wasn’t attentive at all. Also, my food was not good. There was bacon with my meal and it was COLD.

Christina was the worst server we have ever had in our life. She was incredibly sarcastic and rude to my wife, myself, and the tables around us, and after 4 years of loving K’ya and the rooftop lounge, after today’s experience we will never be coming back.

Had lunch today. It was beautiful day and ocean view from the rooftop! I had Salmon salad. My boyfriend had green salad with grill chicken and his mom had Cesar salad with grill chicken. We like our food! Friendly staff and service. I definitely will go back again!

Been going here for years! I was less crowded and less know at one point. The internet and oc reality shows are really taking over the local spots. Still, its one of my favorite spots around town. Pros: –one of the best views –AMAZING mojitos, and strong –Best sunset spot –best happy hour, ½ off apps and drinks Cons: –Pricey food for what you get(unless its happy hour) –Impossible to get a table with out a reservation, unless you start drink at like 2pm or a tuesday in december Biggest con: –they charge you for water, people consuming alcohol in the summer should be able to have water!!!(the main reason this is not 5 stars)

I heard this place has nice views of Laguna beach especially during sunset! We came here around 430p to catch the sunset but it was cloudy and raining(whomp whomp)! Anyway we came for drinks pre-dinner for a friend’s birthday and had called for to reserve a table a few days in advance. Whoever we spoke with on the phone said they don’t take reservations. Of course when we arrived, there were 3 tables that had«reserved» signs! Wth!?? I don’t appreciate the dishonesty! I guess you don’t need that much business… Drinks: pretty darn strong! Pace yourself! View: I can see why everyone loves the rooftop view up there! It is quite romantic! Parking: it wasn’t too hard to find a parking space on the street on an early Saturday evening. Overall: I’m a little bitter about the reservation situation but beside that, it’s a nice date spot.

I have my reasons for really not wanting to go to this place but that’s a different story. After reading the reviews I can name a few more. Thanks Unilocalers. Anyway, my wife and I live two blocks away. It’s New Years day and we want to get a drink where there’s a fantastic view. Rooftop Lounge it is. Being New Years day we thought, packed! So I call to check and Bar tender says not busy, no one here. Cool, let’s go. Five mins later were standing on the Rooftop Lounge. TF packed. Asshole, I would’ve just stayed home if you’d told me the truth. Plus, who wants to hang out with a bunch of wanna be kooks anyway. Eat down stairs, its what holds that place together. Two stars only just because it’s Laguna.

The VIEWS are beautiful, the food was okay, but the service was just awful! throughout our meal the wait staff made so many blunders we lost count of all the wrong doings a few of the blunders: my friend had to be brought 3 wine glasses because the first 2 had black specs in it, they brought us dirty plates, there was a hair in my friend’s food, they brought us the wrong dish, they said they would turn on the heat lamp and had to be reminded 10 minutes later, we had to ask for utensils after our food already began arriving, and we still had to give a great tip because it was included for our party of 7 seating is first come first serve unless you put a $ 150 deposit down to reserve a table(those tables give the best views of the ocean) —cheese plate: this was yummy with the cheeses, nuts, and jam —tartine: not a bad eggs benedict! i liked the crab & asparagus, although it was pretty standard in taste —strawberry mojito: refreshing! didn’t taste the alcohol but could feel the heat after i finished they offer blankets if it gets chilly on the rooftop NOTE: located on the rooftop of La Casa del Camino hotel

I absolutely love this place. The view is amazing. I came here on a Sunday morning for brunch(reminder come early as it is first come first serve seating) I specifically come here for their Bloody Marys… they’re delicious!

I’ve only been here a few times for happy hour, so I’ve never had a real lunch or dinner meal here. But for happy hour, the prices for mojitos and beers are great! The food menu is a bit limited, but the bacon-wrapped dates, ahi, and ceviche appetizers are good. Everything else is ok. Not your full meal selections, just appetizers; however, the portions are generous. The mojitos are really delicious here! So refreshing, just one is never enough. They’re also known for their sangrias… This place is always packed, so finding a seat is hard. It’s first come first serve basis. I was lucky once to get a balcony view seating and once, seating at the bar which was fun. The bartender was great! Fun to chat with and entertaining to watch. Service, overall, is hit or miss here. I’ve had a really uncaring and almost rude waitress before. She seems too busy for good customer service. However, I’ve actually had a very sweet and nice waitress before too. View is absolutely beautiful!!! Technically, I’d only rate this place 3, but because of the gorgeous view, it definitely deserves a 4. Beachfront view of Laguna Beach. Can’t beat that! Great place to just chill and go for drinks.

I was blown away by this place! It is absolutely breathtaking. You have to park on the street which is a little annoying, but it doesn’t keep people away at all. This place isn’t too big and it’s a little packed together so I wouldn’t recommend this place for group bigger than about 4 – 6. I was smart enough to come around 11 on a Tuesday, and it was a little busy but it got even more packed after. It’s best to come early because it’s open seating however there aren’t many seats. Also, not all of the tables are covered with umbrellas so if you’re unlucky you could spend your lunch roasting in the sun. Our waitress was very on and off. She seated us and then took like a half hour to come take our order and then once we got our food she came a few times, and when we wanted the check she took another 30 minutes to come. Here’s the breakdown: I got a veggie burger which was amazing! I absolutely loved it and I’m still craving it right now! It’s got fries, a yummy dip, and a potato salad. It’s incredibly filling. My friend got the hibachi salmon and he’s the pickiest eater ever and be loved it as well. I wouldn’t even hesitate to come back as the food is good and it’s a great place to relax and enjoy a stunning view of Laguna beach. I docked a star for the okay service and the lack of umbrellas.

Yummm — what tasty food, with such a great view! It’s unfortunate you can’t easily make a reservation though. Food: — Hawaiian ahi poke: very similar to the one downstairs at K’ya, delicious and fresh tuna. Marinated in soy/sesame with onions, a bit of seaweed salad and plenty of freshly fried wonton crisps — Burrata bruschetta: DIY, super delicious toasted chewy thick bread that tasted similar to a cragel(bagel/croissant). Burrata was fresh and loved the bowl of fresh juicy tomatoes that it came with Overall, the food was a little overpriced(~$ 17 per), but the portions were pretty generous. Hard to beat such great views and good food. Tip: Don’t expect great service here, and expect to have to be like an eagle trying to swoop in for an open table.

This is the place to see and be seen. It’s a beautiful rooftop patio that overlooks the ocean. The food and drinks are priced a little high, but you’re paying for the location. Arrive early if you want a table. It gets pretty packed around 6pm. People will hover over your table to grab it when they see your check brought to you. If you’re a hotel guest you can reserve a table. Be patient and wait around for a table because the view is totally worth it! Their meatball appetizer was ok. Nothing amazing. The meatballs came in a sweet BBQ sauce. Their guac and salsa was just ok too. The salsa was good but could have used a little more spice to it. The guac could have used some chopped tomato, onion, jalapeño and cilantro. It was basically just chopped avocado. Their mojitos are awesome! Not overly sweet! Absolutely a must while there. There is only one bathroom upstairs so prepare to wait in line. It’s a pretty big single bathroom and it’s well kept. Overall a nice place to come watch the sunset. They have a great bar drink menu. Grab a drink, watch the sunset, then go have dinner elsewhere.

For my 100th Review for the 2015 Unilocal 100 Challenge, I wanted to share a cool place in Laguna Beach. I have been meaning to drop by here, but never found the time til now. Luckily for me I had the Fri off that I came here, because this place can get packed on the weekends. The Rooftop Lounge is on S. Coast Highway, one mile South of Broadway(133 South off the 73) in Laguna Beach. Its on top of the roof of the La Casa del Camino Hotel(boutique hotel). BTW, first come, first served. There are generally no reservations. For lunch, we ordered the baked brie in raspberry sauce($ 14), large romaine salad($ 9), spicy seafood chowder($ 15 — not pictured), and shrimp penne pasta($ 11). First of all, the brie was genius. It had almonds on top, and figs & cranberries on the side. The raspberry sauce tied it all together. The only rec to make it better would be to serve it w/a baguette: 5 Stars. Secondarily, the salad was OK. It was not that«large» for a large. Nonetheless, the dressing, walnuts and gorgonzola were good: 3 Stars. Thirdly, the chowder was OK too. It wasn’t that spicy, but my companion said it was chocked full of salmon, shrimp, and calamari: 3 Stars. Lastly, the pasta was good, but not great. It was a large portion for the price, but there was too much sauce: 3 Stars. Our waitress Cheyenne was super nice and on top of it. In addition, the bartender & servers were cool too: 5 Stars. However, the kitchen took a long time to deliver the dishes after the brie, and the salad came at the same time as the soup & pasta: 3 Stars for the kitchen. Regarding the ambiance, it is very nice. Not 5 Star nice, cos you are not right on the water. However, it would be hard to find a cooler place to have a drink in Laguna Beach: 4 Stars. I can’t wait to come back here and throw some back(I refrained cos I drank too much earlier in the week — LOL!). I’d like to try more of the apps like ceviche and charcuterie.

Came here during Happy Hour with some friends. great view! I love rooftop restaurants. — mojitos — ordered 3 different kinds and they were all so disgusting! I would recommend ordering something else. The waitress was really nice though and we asked 2 to be taken of the bill and she did it. — hawaiian ahi poke — i liked this appetizer! i loveeeee these type of chips, so bomb! — chicken empanadas — also LOVED this! must get if you come here — blackened chicken sandwich — the chicken was pretty dry. i don’t recommend this — shrimp pesto. i added sausages because i love me some sausage! — it was okay, i really don’t like penne pasta but that was the only kind they had. The pesto tasted ok, not great but not bad either I don’t know if I would come back though. The food is mediocre and the drive here was narrow and trafficy. It’s also hard to find parking in this area.
