This show was pretty fun but it was not worth $ 75 a person. I mean, for that price you can see a real Cirque du Soleil show in Vegas. True, it would have to be one of the older shows like Ka or Mystere and the seats in the back… but still. I guess after paying that much for the tickets I was expecting more than folding chairs. At least they could have given us the souvenir photo for free instead of charging $ 20. And movie theater prices for popcorn and soda. Ugh! As for the actual show, it wasn’t as big of a production as other cirque style shows I have seen. There was one spotlight and some colored lighting and a DJ but there were only about half a dozen performers total(at certain points in the show they also had a drummer on stage). In spite of the bare bones aesthetics, the performers were pretty talented and they worked without a net so that did make for some heart pounding moments. I was a little disappointed that there was nothing Polynesian about the show at all except for this one woman who did a little bit of hula in the beginning. She also came out and sang lame 80’s love songs at random intervals. The best part of the show was actually the clown that did a comedy act before the show started and also kept the crowd warm during intermissions. He was very entertaining. Overall, I would recommend Cirque Polynesia if you are looking for something to do in the evening and don’t want to leave the resort. But if you have a limited budget and can only see one show then I would pick the luau. Unless you are just really sick of luaus, which is entirely possible if you have been to Hawaii more than once. I think I would give it a stronger recommendation if it wasn’t for the ticket cost. But like everything else at the Hyatt, it was twice the price it should have been.

What an amazing surprise to find such a fun show in such an intimate setting. Not at all like the«big circus» experience of a full-blown cirque show where there’s so much going on you can’t even take it all in. This little theater is a perfect venue and you’re right there in the middle of the show. Great talent, a great entertainment experience well worth the money.
