This show blew the old Lahaina luau out of the water! I loved the fire dancers! Woohooo! Great work guys! Xoxo

Everything from the food to the staff and the show was 5 stars! The menu recently changed to make most items on the buffet gluten free which made us very happy! The staff stayed on top of us all night keeping all of our drinks full until the end so we’d say it was money well spent! Great job Hyatt regency maui

I’m really glad I didn’t check reviews on this before booking! I have no idea why this would have only 3 stars. We booked this for after our whale watch, while we were on a cruise ship. I think the cruise ship sells the Old Lahaina, but I didn’t want to do a luau without the fireknife dancing. That’s the best part in my opinion. I decided to take my dad to this one as my boss had recommended it. We did rent a car and drove from the pier, so we had to park. Valet was available for $ 10, I think, but we just self-parked. It wasn’t too far of a walk, there was plenty of parking, and it made me feel better to walk back to the car after all of that delicious food :) Anyway, the first thing was that we sort of had an issue finding the place. Not the hotel — that was easy. But after we parked, we had an issue finding the luau INSIDE the hotel. There was a sign out front of the lobby that said luau and then there was nothing else(that I saw, maybe I went the wrong way). But we basically had to walk ALL the way through the hotel and down a flight of stairs before seeing what looked like the right place. Finally, we have found it! Now, the location is great in my opinion. The hotel looked very nice and the luau is nestled right on the beach with a lot of trees/shrubbery around so you kind of get the beach /garden setting combo. We checked in and got our leis, flower for me, kukui for my dad(we were seated in VIP seating) and our maitais and then had a seat at our section up front. The view was wonderful and I was able to take lots of great sunset pictures(perfect for snapchatting! hehe) Next, we had dinner and it was very well organized. The servers came up and let each table go in a row. The food was delicious — I wish I’d taken some pictures for you guys! The Kalua pork was perfect(always my favorite item), the chicken was moist and tasty, and the fish wasn’t too fishy — and that’s a nice statement coming from me. I got to try some poke, but I wasn’t a big fan. I really enjoyed the dessert more than anything, which I am not usually a big fan of dessert. They had haupia, bread pudding, pineapple upside down cake, and chocolate mousse/brownie. I had to try everything(glad I had to walk back to the car!) and it was all good. I have no comments on any of the drinks — the maitai was good enough, but I had to drive the rental car back to Kahului that night so no more than the one drink for me. The show was a typical luau show. Some of it was a little touristy, but a lot of people are really looking for that in these types of activities too. I enjoyed it and I was working off my dessert /kalua /coffee coma, so it was nice to sit back and watch the show. The fireknife dancing was excellent! If you’re trying to decide on a luau to go to — I would recommend this one. The show is above average, the view is magnificent, and the food is delicious! Of all the luaus I’ve been to, this one is one of the best.

The price is not worth is. The food was not great at all. Over priced and open concept. Was sprinkling a little and your getting wet. Waitress are rude.

This luau was included as part of a Costco travel package my wife and I used for our honeymoon, and we couldn’t have been more amazed at the quality of the dancing and food! We went up on stage and joined others when we had the chance to learn to hula. All of the dining tables are long and connected, allowing you to socialize and meet others on vacation as well. The authentic Hawaiian food was so awesome from the poi to the pig cooked in the ground to the taro rolls! They also take a nice sunset photo of each party before the event that you can purchase at the end. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience an amazing dinner coupled with great cultural dancing and an overall great time.

I really don’t understand how this has only 3 stars. It is worthy of 5 stars and beyond. We went to the luau tonight(4adults 2children), the luau is right on the water but on a grassy ledge about half a story up. Beautiful views! The food was amazing, seriously everything was realllllly good. Like, really really good. I’m pretty picky too! I had a little bit of everything and couldn’t find one thing to complain about. I loved the salad with the poppy seed dressing, pickled carrots, poke, shoyu chicken, noodle salad… The kids chicken nuggets were even good haha. The Maitai’s were not very strong but that’s fine with me. Oh yea, desserts were really yummy too. I love the fact that they allow children for free with every paying adult. It’s pointless to spend $ 120 on a plate for a child when you know they won’t eat that much. Therefore, there were quite a few kids. This is perfect for a family environment. Aloha!!!

Starting at $ 95, it’s expensive… but it’s still one of the cheapest things you can do/experience in Maui. I thought it was worth the price! Included in the cost, you get a lei(made of different things depending on which package you buy), the buffet dinner(a huge variety of Hawaiian foods), an open bar, and the show. The dinner was great. There were so many more options than I had imagined. It was a good experience to see what traditional Hawaiian food was like. Of course, there were a few items to avoid, but for the most part, everything was great. There weren’t many options for dessert, so you don’t need to save a lot of room. The open bar was a nice addition. Servers came around offering Hawaiian drinks like mai tais(which were great), but you could go to the bar and ask for other things, too. As for the show, I liked how it was presented. They introduced what Polynesian island the dance came from, and then the dancers would preform that cultural dance. It was nice because it didn’t feel repetitive with only Hawaiian dances. Instead, there were Maori, Samoan, etc. dances. I paid for the $ 95 package, where I should have been seated all the way in the back, but because I arrived only 10 or so minutes before the show started, and it was just 2 of us, we were escorted all the way to the front row where there were two empty seats! That made my night. :)

Excellent. Great food, great entertainment. And, the Mai Tai’s & Blue Hawaii’s actually had a substantial amount of alcohol — had to stop myself at 1.5 so I didn’t embarrass myself for the rest of the night! 4 stars because of the price… it’s a little expensive.

Read on for a local’s perspective! This is a highly promoted luau show that packs them in like sardines. ATMOSPHERE: They’re located outdoors, ocean front in a courtyard-like setting at the Hyatt Regency Maui at the south end of the property. Parking is very limited so I’d recommend valet. The grounds sport a concrete floor, long communal tables, a theatrical-style stage with sound system & lighting, an imu pit where the pig is cooked and unearthed daily, high hedges all around, and is shaded with monkeypod trees(AKA bird sanctuary.) Even though they’re ocean front, the views are impeded due to the high hedges and the sunken down floor of the venue. It feels crowded yet intimate at the same time. Professional photos are available. They also feature live handmade wood carvings of tikis and other symbols for purchase. If the weather turns for the worse, they’ll either move the event into the hotel’s ballroom if it’s available or just cancel and refund. PRICING: We paid around $ 80-something for adult tickets. I’m sure it’s higher nowadays. CHECKIN: The last time I was here, you had to pick up your tickets from the luau ticket office which was located underneath the resort’s spa, then stand in line as the seating was first come, first served unless you opt for pricier reserved seating. The wait in line can be hot, but there are great views of the ocean to distract you. The luau grounds aren’t that big so the majority of the seating have good views of the stage. Everyone was greeted with a shell lei and a choice of a mai tai or juice. ENTERTAINMENT: Overall they have a nice show, from the torch-lighting, to the slow style of hula, to the fast-paced Tahitian, and even fire dancing. They also recognized honeymooners and those celebrating certain milestone anniversaries. A warning, you may be pulled on stage to perform in a group hula lesson lol. BEVERAGE: Open bar! Woohoo! Beer, wine, or whatever floats your boat. FOOD: Everything was very tasty and seasoned well. Traditional foods like the ahi pok’e, poi, kalua pork, lomi salmon, huli(rotisserie) chicken, and taro leaf luau are served, along with non-traditional items like fried rice, mac nut crusted fish, salad, and veggies. Even if the traditional foods look odd or gross, TRYIT! You just may like or even love it. Get out of your box! The desserts were plentiful and included mac nut pie, haupia, pineapple cake and bread pudding. I’m not a big dessert fan so I just stuck with haupia, which is like a coconut-flavored Jello. SERVICE: Everyone was friendly and professional, from the ticket office to the photographers, bartenders, and servers. OVERALL: Good food, entertainment and service, okay ambiance(the prettiest setting IMO is at The Feast At Lele.)

Don’t waste your money! I will give one star based on some of the servers as we arrived. They were very helpful in getting us a great seat and a high chair for our 16 month old son. The drinks were just awful. You had 2 choices. Cheapest Mai Tais on earth or the worst blue Hawaiian drinks that I took one sip of and switched to water! It’s a good thing I was done because once dinner was over, you were lucky to find a server for drinks at all! My husband said his beer was awful too. And he was lucky to have 2 before the server disappeared forever The food… yuck! Terrible selection and just not good at all. We spent $ 250 for 2 adults(our son was free) and were more than disappointed. It was a terribly cheap buffet. I can’t believe people have left positive reviews! They must have low standards… The show was as expected… some good, mostly boring. By then we were ready to leave. The first 2 hours is just a waiting game for drinks, then food(we paid for preferred seating and still waited forever to be able to get in line), and then the show which doesn’t start until 7! We went to a luau in Kauai at the Sheraton that was rained out and moved indoors(so not the experience we had hoped for) and that one was WORLDSBETTER than this one! We have learned our lesson now. No more tourist trap nonsense. This was a waste!

This is a total tourist trap. Get the people in, get them out. Rinse, repeat. The people working there were actually really nice and the food was decent but bordered on being mediocre. They served the cheapest swill for alcohol, it was lousy and tasted like nail polish remover. Seriously the cheapest of cheap booze, which was ridiculous for the price we paid. The performers didn’t seem too enthusiastic either, like it was just another day in the office. I’m sure there’s better luaus out there.

We attended the Drums of the Pacific Luau with 11 people on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Our group really enjoyed the atmosphere, the show, and the food. Everyone was so friendly. The waiter was on top of our drinks the whole time. The food was delicious. All around great time :-)

This was our last hurrah in Maui and we could not have ended on a higher note. The whole experience was absolutely fantastic. We were fortunate to have VIP status so we got to go in early and sit closer to the stage. They greet you at the entrance with leis, a program, and a mai tai. We found out that all drinks were included which was fantastic as I am not a mai tai fan and neither were the rest of our party. We first had our meal which was absolutely FANTASTIC! The local dishes were incredibly flavorful and beautifully presented and because it was Thanksgiving they had traditional Thanksgiving dishes. I fell in love with Ahi Poke which I now have the recipe and can’t wait to try. Next was the entertainment which was breathtaking. I am so amazed at the culture and detail put into each different set. Being my first luau, I felt incredibly honored to learn about this amazing and diverse history. Finally, the backdrop of our entire evening was a clear view of the Pacific Ocean which made the entire night seem intimate and romantic. I could not have asked for a better way to say goodbye to this incredible island.

Entry starts at 5. You spend 2 hours sitting around with most people playing on their cell phones, or maybe they’re giving this thing one star like me. Show is short and nothing special. Save your money.

Had a good time. However I had to remind the waiter three times to bring me a drink. Other than that, it was awesome. Definitely worth it if you go to Maui. (You can also go to the bar if your waiter forgets about you.)

First, the staff was the best part… Very pleasant people… However it’s a so over priced and basically a cattle call Lu’au. We paid about $ 384 for VIP for two adults and our 9 year old son. The food was horrible and a very limited selection. Hawaiian well drinks weren’t much better. I will post after the show.

Es gibt 3 verschiedene Preisklassen: Special Seating, Preferred Seating und dann — first come, first serve.

I went on June 5, 2015. Food was great, place was beautiful, performance was spectacular. Everything about the show was wonderful. The location and set up of the venue is gorgeous– right next to the beach with a lot of beautiful décor. The show itself isn’t too long, but it’s fully entertaining with a variety of acts and dances. I’ve heard a number of complaints about their food, but I feel for the price and the number of people they have to feed unlimitedly, the food’s pretty awesome. Plus, if you’re unhappy with the food, help yourself to the open bar ;) Try the Piña Coladas– it’s ridiculous how good they are. My family and I had a previous concern regarding our server, but the sales manager quickly addressed it with us, took action, and apologized for our inconvenience. They even offered a partial refund. With that said, they’ve displayed excellent customer service and I’m happy to highly recommend this show.

This rating is based on service, performance, food and ambiance. The service could have been better– waiter came around just a few times and asked if we wanted anything on his tray. He had Mai Tais, blue hawaii, coke, water or punch. My husband asked for beer and I asked for a diet coke which we got in about 15 mins. It seemed that all waiters were prepared to serve the masses. The performance was close to exceptional. The host was so gracious, elegant, spoke incredibly well. I think it was Ms. foster. What a remarkable and poised lady. Her father in the band, played the drums amongst other instruments. The band was phenomenal and the music was perfect! The dancers were truly a class act. Everyone from the hula dancers to the fire dancers were so dedicated and gave their performance 200%. The costumes were so beautiful! Some were very intricately placed together. The food was ok. I have had better kalua pig, fish, shoyu chicken, lomi and desert. I wasn’t wowed by the food, sadly. All in all, the ambiance was fun filled, excited and the audience had a blast, especially with class participation. With the dimmed lights and torches on the perimeter, it sure gave this luau an awesome and protective environment. Great job Hyatt!
