Super friendly professional staff and amazing show. Even though a dance fell towards the end. It was handled so well. I actually wanted to cheer for her. The lava flow was delicious. I GOTTWO. Food was not good. It wasn’t the best. You won’t get a chance to go for second since they take away the food right away so help yourself to enough food. Go slightly early if you want to park right infront of the location and enjoy their open bar.

Excellent. A true TRADITIONAL Luau. There appears to be lots of luaus in Hawaii and we got the impression some of them are pretty basic and not overly authentic. The Old Lahania Luau was neither. This is a terrific Luau. The setting is gorgeous(right on the water), the food was amazing(shredded pork, chicken, ahi poke… all SO good) and the service was absolutely top notch. The entertainment/music we could tell was very authentic and gave a true and historic Hawaiian vibe. These guys were easily the most highly reviewed and well known of the Luaus we saw to be available on Maui… and it did not disappoint. Very worthy!

We rolled in with a large party of around 30 people and with reservations ahead of time we were all able to sit next to each other! $ 110 per person The Luau was fun, they Lei you upon arrival and handed out drinks at the entrance. We were a bit late since it started at 5 pm but didn’t miss much accept some photo opportunity time, food wasn’t served until around 6 or later The food is buffet style, they dismiss tables at a time, but the food was actually pretty good and there’s a LARGE variety! at the end they also bring each table a plate of desserts with DELICIOUS coconut pudding, and then you get awesome, moist banana bread to take home ALLYOUCANDRINK, they have a list of cocktails that are WAY too sweet but you can also order alcohol on the rocks(no shots) After the food they had live performances, dances, etc, a great night

All the reviews that list the many positives are spot on. This is a great time at what I think would be an essential activity for any first-time Maui visit. That said, I don’t think I’d need to go back. Once is enough. A few comments: — The main male presenter(MC?) doesn’t have very clear enunciation. He’s difficult to understand at times. — I’d skip the«traditional» seating. It’s wicked uncomfortable and seems to be more code for: fitting more people in while maintaining lines of sight for everyone. — The pace of the program is great. Very professionally done. — Just to affirm: the cocktails are sugary concoctions that could almost pass as virgin caliber. Enjoy that welcome Mai Tai or Pina Colada, but after that too many will make you sugar sick. Beer and wine are welcomed additions. But only the white wine, the red is basically fruit punch.

Aloha! I came here on my honeymoon and it was a magical experience. Good food, great drinks, an amazing performance, very romantic, and the best memories of Hawaii. If you do anything in Maui, let this be at the top of your list. You will not regret this one. Mahalo, Old Lahaina Luau!

This is the REAL one. No fire twirling, no scary boo-boo faces, but those aren’t «Hawaiian» anyway(Polynesian, yes, but this is HAWAII!) If you want genuine Aloha, a greeting with a lei at the gate(and a Mai Tai before you can say«Mahalo»), a gorgeous oceanfront setting and a sumptuous meal, this is THEONE. The show is fabulous(How do they DO that?!!) The food is wonderful, the hospitality genuine, and the drinks are plenty strong(stay away from the Lava Flow thingy… Sweeeet!) The show tells the history of the Islands, and so, if you are attuned to it(or already know your Hawaiian history), sad. But the dancing is amazing and the costumes — and dancers — beautiful. You won’t regret this evening out.

Unbelievably beautiful setting; unlimited beverages and remarkable food — much better than expected! An amazing array of dishes to try — probably 15 – 20 different choices. And on top of that — a great show! Part beautiful people, part Hawaiian history lesson. If you want romance and a terrific evening in paradise, book OLL!(Tip — pay a little extra to sit in chairs rather than seated on pillows in the ground.)

The quick hits — The food is good The show is great The service is superb Now some tips– You’ll likely end up parking across the street. Be careful when crossing to Old Lahaina as the area is full of bad drivers and tourists that don’t understand what a crosswalk is. It’s a buffet, but you won’t be going back for seconds unless you eat super fast. They shut it down quickly, so load up now especially in things you know you’ll like. The drinks are diabetes inducingly sweet and super short on booze. Stick to beer and wine. The desserts are brought out on a platter to be shared. They’re all good, but for some reason it seems that 60% of the desserts, not just on your table bit everywhere go untouched. Bring your giant old lady bag and stuff it with leftover desserts. Otherwise it just all goes to waste. Gratuity is not included. Unfortunately that’s not really made known upfront so you’ll have to tip in cash. Bring a $ 20. It would be nice if you could add it to your payment method of choice. Also people abandon their lei’s for some reason. Grab those too and give them to your friends or decorate your house/hotel room/cabin with them! Otherwise they’re wasted.

This review is a little overdue. We have actually been here twice, about 5 years apart, and both times, same experience. This is probably one of the nicest Luau’s in Maui. Located in Lahaina, obviously, right on the water and sand, the view is breath taking. The price per person is a little on the expensive side,(around $ 100 per person), but it is all you can eat and drink and the performances are pretty entertaining. We opt for table seating, I don’t do well kneeling for hours, I’d rather be comfortable. The food spread is pretty good, I wouldn’t say the best, but that’s what you get at a buffet style venue. Now, the uncovering of the roast pig, that’s a production, a labor intensive one at that, but again… all part of the show. I probably would never do a Luau again, only because, you see one, you’ve seen them all… but if in town, definitely go do this one, you will enjoy it!!!

Let me start out by saying I have been to almost all the Luau’s on Maui. This is the BEST !!! I always celebrate my Birthday here because it’s that good ! Lots of free parking. The luau location is fantastic right on the ocean with sunset views. Everything is included drinks /dinner and show. Pre show there is plenty of time to look at wood carvings, souvenirs, take part in games, learn to make poi or even to hula. They have photographers to take your picture or you can just take your own. The photo prices are a bit pricey but if its your one time here its worth it for a nice picture. You can get them anytime or wait til sunset. They also send you the picture to your Email so you can post it while your on vacation. Check out the roast pig and learn about the underground oven pit. The tables are set so there is great views from everywhere. I always choose the table seat. The tables near the stage on the ground seating with pillows is not for me looks uncomfortable. The make the BEST lava flow on Maui there are many specialty drinks to choose from as well. The food is good lots to choose from. The show is wonderful but it is traditional so no Fire dancers. If you have your heart set on a Fire Dance you wont see it here. They even give you a packaged banana bread to take home !

Lots of parking. They direct you to their lot. Check in at podium and get greeted with leis and drinks(Mai tai, water or punch). Open bar so once inside you can get anything else. Waiters take drink orders to skip bar lines. We had Joe and he was super! Pre show lets you take photos to purchase later. Souvenir shop for wood carvings or jewelry. Learn how to hula. Little activities to learn about the underground oven roasted pig. How they make poi. Etc. take in the sights of the beach. Back at your tables(tables seat about 8 guests /are communal) some tables have chairs and some near stage sit on floor with pillow. Back tables get to buffet first. Lots of food. You can check menu online but everything was very good. Better than other luaus I have had. Best papaya! Best banana bread! Love the guava honey butter. Only bummer. They sold out of rolls. I don’t know how that happens but they ran out within first helpings. But they send us home with banana bread so I guess I can’t be that upset. Tip your servers since it’s not included.

Ok, so let me start by saying a couple of things… This is the first Lu’au that I have ever been too, and I did a fair amount of research before choosing this venue. It is not the cheapest on offer in the area, BUT, I do think that it is worth it. The show itself is very well done, professional and was so beautiful to watch. The location is fantastic right by the ocean. I had read comments about the food not being great, and the service not being up to par, along with watered down drinks. I have to say that this was NOT my experience. The food was buffet style, and most of it was delicious!!! And there was plenty of options. The Poke was average, but this is not the place I would come for the best Poke. The Mai Tai when you walk in was great, and I choose to have the wine with the dinner. The server was good and got our drinks in a timely manner, and yes, at the end they let us know that the show will be finishing soon, and let us know that we could tip if we wanted too. There was no pressure, and to be honest they deserved a tip, based on our experience. All in all, I would recommend this to a friend.

A great experience to have. Excellent show, drinks, service, and environment. Food was ok, above average but not the best. We were hoping for a better pig but we thought the pork was rather dry. I loved the chicken and it was good to try traditional hawaiian dishes while learning hawaiian history. The dancers here are very good looking and the rest of the waitstaff helpful and kind. We reserved our table seat a month in advance and we got second row seats on the side which was ok. We were seated with 3 other couples who made really great company. We got up at 5:30 to see the uncovering of the pig which was exciting. Cons: ok– above average food, watered down drinks(although they still tasted good, get the lava flow!) and no fire dancers The price is not bad and comparable to the other luaus. Most of the best luaus cost $ 89 – 109, so not much price difference. We would try the feast at lele next time though

Of the few luaus I’ve tried in Hawaii this has got to be the best so far out of all of them. The setting is very nice as it is located right by the ocean and you can walk around the establishment and see the different activities taking place. They had people selling Hawaiian jewelry and wood carvings plus demonstrations of making poi. They also had staff taking pictures for you if you liked with there own photographers. After you have made your walk be sure to stop and wait for the unveiling of the pig from the fire pit. It is not to be missed and shows how the pig is cooked in the coals underneath the big pile of dirt and leaves. The two gentlemen doing the digging of the pig was funny and they were entertaining as well. Once you arrive you are given a drink and lei then lead personally to your table by one of the staff. Service here by our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He answered any or all questions we had about the luau and the buffet. When the buffet was about to begin, you are instructed to be lead by each table so not everyone goes at the same time. The buffet had a lot of variety from Kalua pulled pork to beef steak and mahi mahi. One of the items I really enjoyed was the fried rice. It was flavorful and not too filling. One of their special items was the pork lau lau which I found to be only ok. It wasn’t as good as the one we tried on Waikapu On 30. Last but not least to try was the poi. It was always taste the same to me regardless with a bland taste. The dinner ended with a plate of four different kinds of dessert. They had a chocolate brownie which was my favorite and haupia which wasn’t bad. After the dinner was over then came the performances of the evening. They had hula dances with both male and female and they were all very well coordinated with the music. The dances were energetic and I really liked the Hawaiian drums performing in the background. The only thing missing was that they didn’t have any fire dances which I have seen at all my previous luaus. Seemed strange to me that if they said their luau was the most authentic that they would have fire dances. When the show is over they give you a little souvenir bag of banana bread which I thought was a nice gesture, but the bread itself was terrific with it being moist and flavorful. Wish I had more to take home. The time spent there during the whole evening was less than 3 hours and was hoping it would’ve lasted longer. For the price we paid it was about average for a luau and luckily we were able to get a table even though we didn’t reserve early, but due to someone’s cancellation. I thought the whole evening was worth it for the experience of Old Lahaina Luau. Not to be missed if you’re vacationing in Maui.

I have never been to a luau but after having been to the Old Lahaina, the bar has been set pretty high. The ambiance before the luau begins is perfect: you are given a lei and a drink and are free to walk around and check out the different activities going on, all while taking in the amazing ocean view. They do make an announcement to head over to watch them dig out the pig but if you have a good waiter they will give you a heads up ahead of time so you can get a good spot! Luckily, we were able to stand right in front of the gentleman who would be digging out the pig. They do make an announcement to let all kids come up front, which I thought was awesome(no kids traveling with us though). The two gentleman doing the pig presentation were hilarious and entertaining, they either love what they do or are trained very well. After the pig is dug out, you are chosen by table to head over to the buffet. Not many were fans of the poi but the pig was really good. The luau begins after they bring dessert, which is an assortment of different sweets. The different presentations were all back to back and well coordinated, highly entertaining performances. Both the male and female performers were all so talented, we even caught the boy who dug out the pig dancing up on stage. At the end, they do a really sweet dance for honeymooners, those celebrating anniversaries or anyone who came with a special someone to the luau. The majority of those sitting on the floor stood up to dance, most likely because their backs were killing them and they were dying to stretch out their legs. If you can, try reserving a table and not the floor ! They give you a little souvenir banana bread to take home, which survived all the way back to Miami(surprisingly). To be honest, that luau bread was the best bread I had tasted compared to all the other famous spots I had stopped at. I had thought that for the price we had paid for the Old Lahaina Luau it would be an average experience but I was so wrong. Please do not miss the opportunity to see this wonderful performance! It is worth every penny and more.

Amazing show! For the hefty price, you definitely get your money’s worth. Make sure to make reservations weeks prior to coming. I enjoyed the traditional seating I reserved which was the first row around the stage. The seating set up is pretty well organized so you will get a good view regardless of traditional or table seating. If you have back or knee problems, table seating might be best. Ok so a lot of things to review but it’s easy when everything was exceptional: great food, great service and phenomenal show! Our waiter Vincent was great at entertaining us and getting our drinks promptly(open bar). If you are hesitant about booking a luau, I say treat yourself and/or family and just do it! It’s definitely one of the best experience to have while in Maui.

We were greeted with Mai Tais and lays at the doors. Per dinner I would call a cocktail hour with a wonderful open bar and activities such as learning how to play traditional Hawaiian games. You can watch them dig up the pig before dinner and then head over to an all your can eat buffet. The food was great and there was more variety then I was expecting for a luau. After dinner they treat you to coffee and desserts while you watch a wonderful hula show. It was my first luau and I would highly recommend it.

Wonderful from start to finish. Be sure and reserve months in advance to get best seat selection. We sat at tables(instead of cross-legged on the ground in the front) due to length of show, and we were glad we did. We made wonderful local friends at our table that we will always remember! Don’t forget to tip your waiter at the end! If you get here early, around 5 — 5:15, you will get parking in front. It fills up fast, and then patrons are told to park at the mall across the street.

Summary: Still a great luau. Awesome food, open bar, very friendly and attentive staff, good music and hula dancing. No fire dancers here, and price is a little high. All in all, a great experience. My wife checked in at around 5pm for our second time to the Old Lahaina Luau. As we walked in we were lei’d and given Mai Tais to start the evening off. We were taken to our table where we met six very nice Canadians on vacation that would be sharing the table with us. We walked around and looked at the crafts, had our pictures taken, saw where the Kalua pig was buried(and watched it being dug up), and saw some folks learning traditional dances. The bar was open and there were a number of tropical drinks, a couple of wines, and some beers available to enjoy(unlimited). After a couple of drinks, we were feeling pretty good and soon we were escorted to the buffet line(this is done in waves by section). There were 22 different food options ranging from salad and poke, to Kalua pork and steak. All were quite delicious. Then a dessert plate was brought with four types of dessert(none were particularly amazing). Soon after, the show began and we watched several rounds of slow and fast dances with narration and music created on stage(primarily chanting and playing on a gourd). At around 7:45pm, we made our way to the photo table to see how the professional shots that were taken earlier came out. The prices are no bargain. 1 for $ 30, 2 for $ 40, 3 for $ 50, and so on. We picked a couple, though. Then, when it was time to leave, everyone was given a little bag of banana bread to go. It was a very nice experience, albeit a pricey one. We would probably do it again(we might look for a luau with a fire dancer or a little more variety of dancing to experience). The food is hard to beat here, though.

Exceptional! This is the absolute best first luau experience! From getting greeted, to the dancing, old traditional story telling, the pig, food, service and the list goes on. The traditional seating was awesome to experience, front row and center, yes it was uncomfortable after an hour but you adjust. The food was so good and there was tons of it to go around for seconds and even thirds. Our waiter told me that they sell out every single night, and it holds a little over 200 people. The beach is literally right in front and it’s just a beautiful place to take pictures and enjoy this once in a lifetime experience in Maui. Price is fair considering the other luaus are the same or even more. If you are looking for a luau in Maui, look no further and buy your tickets now. CAUTION: I don’t think any of the drinks actually have alcohol in them and if they did it was literally a drop, I understand it’s an open bar and they want to control their alcohol because of it, but come on! Not fair for people who look forward to the drinks.
