Outrigger Aina Nalu

Pool area is nice but you have to get a bracelet to hang out there. We rented from an individual owner, not directly through outrigger.
There was a window unit air conditioner on a 4 hour timer and the shower was only ever lukewarm. Also the mattress and bedding felt very cheap.
We had previously stayed at the Andaz for a week before changing locations, so we had been quite pampered.
If you are looking to save money and won’t be in your room much this place will work for you. Just keep in mind that it will bring down the overall feeling and quality of your vacation.

We loved staying here. The grounds are so beautiful. It’s nice to be able to pull right up to the room and not have to deal with valet or the big resort mess. The parking was a little pricey but we knew it would be, so it wasn’t a surprise. I think $ 17 a day. There is a parking lot across the street that we could have parked in for about $ 10 a day but we choose not too. They do hit you with a cleaning fee. But again we knew that upon arrival so it didn’t bother us. I want to say that was $ 150ish. Still this place is very affordable, especially for what it is. The shower was huge the room was clean. We had everything we needed in the 1 bed room. Defiantly will be staying here again. I can’t say enough about how Perfect the property was. Having The ability to do laundry in the condo was a huge plus. They leave two small things of laundry detergent. We brought a few of our own as well. No complaints on that. The bathroom was very nice and the shower was Beautiful and can fit two people easily. Staff was great, it was all-​around a great experience. I highly suggest this place.

We stayed here for 4 days and found the room very clean and the grounds nice. Very nice pools with cabanas.
Short walking distance from the shops and restaurants.
Down side was the air conditioning was extremely loud in the bedrooms (the loudest I have ever heard).
There are extra fees that shocked me too, you have a room cleaning charge and you have to pay to park in their lot which I found out when we got there.
At all the places we have stayed, this was the first time I have come across these crazy extra fees. Total hidden fees $ 252.29 for 4 days! !!

Clean, spacious, quiet, affordable, walking distance to shops and ferry (Lanai). I would definitely come back.

this hotel was part of their travel package. Hotel, flight, and car rental. This location is walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants. Street parking was easy to find. Hotel charges overnight parking & cleaning services.

After a hellish experience with a double-​booking airbnb situation, the staff at Aina Nalu, Jasmine and Diana, showed us their true Aloha spirit. They found a room for us on Christmas week and made us feel welcome with treats and free parking too!
The studio apartment was more than accommodating for two people. The fridge, microwave, dishes, coffee, and extra beach towels were super convenient. The room was clean; there was fast wifi and cable. The proximity to Historic Front St. and its many sites was extremely convenient and allowed us to enjoy a sunset drink each night.
This is the welcome and accommodations we hoped for with the airbnb host, but to get this from complete strangers during a very stressful time made this a highlight of our vacation in Maui. Thank you, Jasmine and Diana! We hope to see you again soon!

Location great, pool beautiful, rooms nice, cleaning fees ridiculous, parking fees a joke. Location is the only thing going for this hotel if you want to walk to Lahaina. Other than that, policies are stupid — they don’t refresh towels unless you pay for it, and the tv’s need to be upgraded… will probably never stay there again… ever.

Where do we start…
1. We were booked at the wrong location. We confirmed multiple times that we booked the aina nalu location, however when we arrived for check in we were rudely and continuely told that our reservation was actually at their sister location 10 miles north. Trying to be kind, we were nice and agreed to go to the northern location
P. S. front lady concierge was terrible and possibly haunted… may have been Satan herself
2. We arrive to the outrigger location which was infested with cockroaches.
3. There were also mutluple ghosts haunting the premises
4. No AC
Moral of the story… we left immediately and booked at the westin resort and spa. Much cheaper price and I can’t even describe how much better the westin made out stay in Maui

Unfortunately I have to report that our stay this time around has been less than exemplary.
First off like others have said they charge $ 17.50 a day for parking, there is plenty of parking in the lot and who in their right mind charge for parking when you’re paying what you have to pay to stay here? Not only that if you forget to put the parking pass on your dashboard they leave threatening notices on your car to have it towed away. Last night I left the parking permit in the passenger seat of my car and found yet another notice on the car this morning. I have since taped said parking permit to my windshield so there is no more confusion as to whether or not I’m entitled to park here for the exorbitant fee of $ 17.50 per day.
Two days ago we had a notice put on our door indicating that they would be doing some sort of pest treatment throughout the property and we had to vacate the unit between 9 AM and 4 PM. I don’t know if it ever occurred to them but if they had regular housekeeping service they wouldn’t have the ant and roach problem that has been notated by other folks on Unilocal as well as the journal in my own personal unit.
This will be our fourth stay here and with all likelihood probably our last, after 17 years-​We love the proximity to Front Street and that is why we have chosen to come back here again and again. However at this time with the incessant notices on our rental car and just general unfriendliness of the staff in addition to the money we are spending between the room, parking fee and the end of stay house cleaning fee of $ 125 we can stay someplace else and get better service.
Outrigger is probably looking to turn this entire place and the condos and that is why they really don’t care whether or not people come back here to stay or not. Maybe it is a calculated plan to run people off.

Loved how this location is so close to Front Street. It was literally minutes away from it actually. We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo with a total of 3 couples and a toddler. It included a washer and dryer which was very useful for us. They provided the detergent but you would have to bring your own softener. I also love this location because it’s minutes away from the supermarket and other fast food and restaurants.
Ready for the cons? The cleaning fee is outrageous! So was the parking fee as well! $ 17 a night? Ugh. We should have listened to the Unilocal reviews and find parking on the streets every night. Oh well! Another con was that there weren’t really any nice beaches that were walking distance. Luckily, we had friends staying at the Westin though. We drove over there to use their walking distance beach and swimming pools.
If you want a place close to shopping, restaurants, and bars, this place is for you. If you want the nice beaches and chill environment, you’ll have to look somewhere else like the Westin.

I would have definitely given this property a higher review had their billing practices been more transparent. A colleague and I were scheduled to be there for just two nights. After reserving through their website, I was then notified of the $ 175/​night (oh, and they charge TAX on that) «cleaning fee.» That was higher than the nightly rate to stay in this room! When I called to ask if I could cancel the reservation, I was told that I would be charged a $ 180 cancellation fee. Ridiculous!
The facilities were nice and it was a clean spot, but this non transparent (and frankly, beyond that – it just felt completely dishonest) billing practice really left a bad taste in our mouths. They also gouged with the parking rates. The parking lot was virtually empty yet they tried to charge $ 20/​night for parking. Other hotels in the area (in even better locations) charge $ 8/​night, so this seemed excessive.

They need a reality check. So full disclosure I’ve been coming to Lahaina once or twice a year for 14 years. Several years ago I actually purchased my own condo at Lahaina Shores. LS was closed for extensive renovations during my last trip so they recommended Aina Nalu to me.
The units are nice and grounds are well kept. I especially like the main pool. The problem is the price, parking and location. For what I paid at Aina Nalu I could have had an oceanfront condo at Lahaina Shores and I could have saved about $ 25 a night by getting a mountain view and having beach access closer to Front Street.
The real kicker is parking. $ 17.50 a night! and the cleaning fee was over $ 100! You don’t pay a cleaning fee at LS either. I compare the two properties because they’re both essentially offering the same product. a one bedroom or studio condo in Lahaina.
So overall I liked the place and it was nice. But, it was extremely overpriced and there are cheaper nicer options a few blocks away. I would not under any circumstances stay there again unless it was about $ 45 a night cheaper than what I paid.

The exterior and interior of the place was well groomed. There was always a staff member working on mowing the lawn, sweeping the sidewalks, making sure everything was well organized and kept clean.
Interior of the place had granite kitchen, and we stayed in 2 bedroom place with a pull out bed from the couch (please, do not use the pull out bed– my back hurt for a while – lesson learned – we are paying extra next time for an actual bed). They also had washer and dryer in the bathroom which was nice and convenient.
The only reason why this place is getting 3 stars is because:
1) Parking was extra. $ 17.50/night. We stayed for 8 nights and payed $ 380/​night for just to stay there. You’d think for that price, the parking was included. Nope.
2) For cleaning you’d have to pay extra. And when you leave they’re going to charge you cleaning fees of $ 250 anyways.
3) We had two rooms with TV and one TV in the living room. The second TV was broken and we had requested that they’d fix it. We stayed for 8 days, and every time we checked to see if they can fix it (because come on, it’s hot, we’re not going to stay outside all day. We can rest comfortably at the condo we paid for with AC but no TV) they kept stalling. For 8 days of complaining, they never fixed it, and they never indented to fix it.
In conclusion, the place is nice and all, but their service wasn’t so great.

Great place in the heart of Lahaina. Close to the water and Front Street which is the main attraction in town.
The staff was helpful and kind. The property was in perfect shap with all the trees, grass along with the pool and provilian.
The condo was great and clean. 2br, 2 full baths and a kitchen fully stocked save the food.
I highly recommend this place and would stay here again without hesitation.
Just a little FYI… They charge for cleaning when you leave and there is a nightly parking charge.

This place is awesome except for the parking situation. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. You can’t beat the location, a few minutes of walking and you are on Front St! There is a mix of privately owned units that are rented out and Aina nalu owned units.
I rented a suite through coconut condos and got terrific service. The buildings here are all two stories. There is tons of parking but Aina Nalu has the audacity of charging $ 20 a night. It’s not «A la carte» either. You have to pay for parking for the whole duration of your stay. Street parking is rare, so we didn’t drive too much because of the parking situation. ($ 20 a night is a lot! I have better things to spend my vacation money on, like Roselani ice cream!) Since I rented the condo, there was no maid service. There was a steep cleaning charge tacked onto my room charge that was mandatory.
The staff here was not helpful in helping me get a parking pass printed for the discounted $ 10 parking across the street. Instead, they handed me a business card for an internet café down the street who charges $ 2.50 a page for printing.
The layout of the suites inside was brilliant. I had a two bedroom, with a master suite on opposite sides of the unit, and a kitchen and living room in the middle. If you stay in A building, the noise from the main office AC can keep you up all night. My suite had a full kitchen, washer and dryer and free super fast Wi-​Fi.
Other than the parking and unhelpful front desk staff, this place was awesome.

I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel.
The pools were awesome ! The continental breakfast meeting with the concierge was a great way to plan out our stay. With great offers and recommendations we had the best stay.
The front desk clerks were super sweet we showed up way early for our check in they made accommodations for us to stay and hang out by the pool area while our room got cleaned. We stayed in a two bedroom one bath condo and it was beautifully decorated and set up this is where we want to come back and stay. The staff was friendly.
Our rooms were clean and our room was perfect, close to parking H110 great space !

We stayed here for 5 days in late March. When we arrived it was pretty late at night, and I was a little confused at first because the front desk is like a little outdoor pavilion. But once I realized that, hey front desks might be outdoors in Hawaii, we walked up and were able to check in.
The room was really nice. This was basically a condo, with a bedroom, bathroom, full kitchen, and even a washer and dryer. Had we realized this, we could have not packed as many clothes, and had more room for gifts to bring home. our only complaints with the actual room were that besides the closet which you can hang clothes up, there wasn’t anywhere else to put stuff. Literally not a single drawer in our bedroom. Also, it had a nice balcony, but there was no patio furniture. We pulled a chair out from inside, but a chair or two out there would have been nice. Also, I saw plenty of other units that did have patio furniture, so I suspect that each unit is not identical in what they contain.
The first morning we were there, we went to an orientation with the hotel concierge by the pool. The pool is really cool, like an infinity pool that is just in the grass. First one I have ever seen like it. So anyways, the orientation was pretty informative, and they gave out a bunch of prizes at the end which were mostly buy one get one frees to various attractions. We won one for ziplining, which we ended up doing, and that saved us about a hundred bucks. So definitely attend the orientation, at least to get an idea of what to do.
The location of the Aina Nalu is ideal for Lahaina. When you walk out the front of the property, you are about 2 blocks from the main strip in downtown Lahaina, where there’s basically everything there.
Overall, the price was pretty decent for what you get and the location. They do hit you with a mandatory cleaning fee, and we rented a car, so had a nightly parking fee as well. But that seems to be the norm in Hawaii, so won’t hold that against them.
Overall, This is a very nice hotel/​resort, and a pretty good value, but it is not right on the beach, and there really isn’t one within walking distance that you will want to lug all your beach gear to. We ended up driving to a couple beaches, which are less than 10 minutes drive away. So if you don’t mind that, then this is a really nice place to stay.

The Front Desk person, Naomi, stood out amongst her peers! On this trip, I am a difficult traveler as I have my elderly Mother In Law, two teenage boys and my husband. Original room/​bed configuration was terrible. My MIL got lost (scary experience) between our rooms and both boys were going to have to share a bed. The other front desk clerk seemed uninterested with my frustrations when Naomi leaned in and started offering us options and making calls… along with her General Manager. She got us everything we needed! The property is very resort-​ish and the concierge enthusiastic. We are very satisfied! High Speed Internet for the boys was a bonus!

I’m going to be fair on rating Outrigger Aina Nalu. When we first arrived I was going to give this place a 4. The front desk ladies were nice and welcoming. First stepping into the condo I thought the layout was good, we liked the master bedroom, the high ceilings, washer and dryer, and living room patio. At first seemed generally clean accept our kitchen was a bit dirty.
The cons made me drop stars:
— There was a little roach in the coffee maker.
— The bedroom walls had dust.
— The kitchen was a bit dirty.
— The living room fan was wobbly.
— The couch was a little dirty and the kitchen was not clean.
— SOooo dusty!
This place has potential however Outrigger has to do something about it. We are Shells Vacation/​Wyndham timeshare owners and would not purchase Outrigger timeshare. Maybe they put us in a crappy unit because I booked way in advanced with a lower rate.
Pools were nice, however there were alot of ants carrying their eggs in one of the lounge area by the sea water pool.
The sad part is this place has so much potential, location is wonderful, the layout is great but for a $ 100 cleaning fee and the condos are not clean is ridiculous.
Outrigger management, please do something about your rooms. I would of given the Condo a 2 * however I was such in a good mood being in Maui and the location was close to all the cute shops and the beach!

Parents booked a great package deal through OneTravel. Our room in the Bamboo section has a full kitchen, bedroom, living room with a sofabed for a fan of 4.
Everyone on foursquare was talking about Front Street and I had no idea what that was, and it’s a cute strip of shops, restaurants, and a few bars. Super nice at night and you can catch some free shows on some nights around 7pm. It’s suuuper close; literally just go down the street across from Aina Nalu’s exit and cut through that white building with the phở restaurant and theater and you’re there.
Don’t like that we had to pay for parking every night and how far the dumpster was to throw our trash out. Also didnt really like the tourism/​orientation lady. She decided to begin helping put and answering questions for another family who leeched onto the group in front of us, so that’s the 4 stars.
Not being fair to my family on our first day os a huge no-​no. Informative, but obviously was trying to target people who looked like they had money to, spend, too bad that was us. We ended up calling another place instead and our tickets for a luau ran us $ 10 less a person.
BUT, the stay is clean, comfortable, and relaxing. Great pools with little bungalows by the bigger pool. Haven’t seen one spider or cockroach, just a fat cat walking around. Definitely stay here!!!
