I am from the SF Bay Area and perhaps spoiled by the high quality of Vietnamese food. Service was slow. Ordered the shrimp spring rolls and a seafood combo phở. The rice paper a bit on the heavy side and they don’t cut the rolls. A knife comes along with the dish. There was no dish of fresh basil, sprouts, etc just the phở. I found it salty, contained 2 or 3 nice prawns and cuttle fish or squid. That was it. No fish cake, or fish balls, etc. I think the restaurant seemed a bit overwhelmed in getting out the food that night. Waitress never came back after delivering the food to re-fill water, etc. For me no repeat.

My wife had a late lunch so we ate here. Nice air conditioned place tucked away from Front St. The shrimp rolls were good and the Vietnamese Pad Thai. Prices are a little higher, but expected since it’s Lahaina. I would go back if I had a Vietnamese craving.

Way overpriced, especially for phở. Plus it made me feel sick. PROS: The girl in the front is really friendly. CONS: — They ran out of A LOT of food. I was starving. I could have eaten a kangaroo. — I found not one, but TWO, small flies in my dish, but there may be a WHOLEFAMILY. These flies may carry diseases. Lets see if I drop dead tonight. CONCLUSION: If not for the friendly girl serving us, I may have cried. I hope I live.

Just down the alley from Aina Nalu resort. We entered the back of The Wharf mall and found this place easily enough. We called in our order. Pad Thai, Wok fried noodles with beef, yellow curry shrimp with coconut milk, summer rolls. Everything was great. Best constructed summer rolls we’ve ever had. Can’t complain about anything. The service was friendly enough for a call in order. I’d give it 5 stars but we ordered to go and haven’t tried their namesake«phở». We will save that for next visit.

Great place! Very friendly service, their English was functional and they were able to answer several questions we had about ingredients etc. We had both the veggie phở(with beef broth) and the chicken hot and sour soup. The beef broth was a bit oily but the hot and sour soup was fantastic. Light and tangy with tons of vegetables. HIGHLY recommended. So good, we returned for another meal during our short visit to Maui!

Solid phở! We had veggie and chicken. Both delicious. Service was quick for a Saturday night too. If you’re in the mood for good phở, this is your place.

Pricey but Good. We had Rare Steak Phở and the Green Papaya Salad with Tofu. Fresh and flavorful. Prices are high, but not out of line with the area.

Super nice owner who is proud of her food and restaurant which has been open for 9 years. We had the surprisingly tasty(albeit Maui priced) Phở. $ 13 or so is about double what I normally pay for a bowl of Phở, but while in Maui… beggars can’t be choosers. The broth came out hot with a slight sheen of chili oil on top(hadn’t seen that before). Good beef flavor, but a little heavier on the star anise than i prefer. Standard noodles, not too mushy. The beef was slightly thicker sliced, and the meatballs were quartered. Tripe is sliced way too thin and they don’t offer tendon. The basil was really fresh, but the bean sprouts had seen better days. We have had phở 2 days in a row and may be back again to keep the streak going.

I am writing this while dining here since it appears that it may take a while… The husband wanted Phở on our trip to Maui and this was the most decent place according to Unilocal reviews. Small, cozy Vietnamese restaurant with 6 tables. We came during the lunch hour and took the last table. Waited 10 minutes to order(owner lady is nice but taking her sweet time), 10 minutes for the Phở to arrive. I got the rare steak phở and the broth actually tasted good! It was flavorful and rich, but did not reek of fish sauce like many viet places. We are spoiled with good Vietnamese food where we live and did not expect much from this place. Overall, not a bad experience, service is good but very slow — I guess we should get used to island time when we’re here. Solid 3.5*, rounding up to 4 for the nice service by the owner lady.

My husband and I were looking for soup and we agreed this is the best rare steak Phở we’ve had. Cute tiny place and the ladies that work here are super sweet. Great place to eat :)

This place blows. As with everything on Maui, price shock still happens with $ 13 for a bowl of combo phở, but the worst was the service. We were seated right away on the patio in the otherwise pretty empty restaurant, and given menus and water right away. That’s pretty much where service screeches to a halt. 15 minutes later, I was still waiting to order. I flagged down the same lady who seated us, asked, «Can we order, please?» and she said, «Oh, ok.» Instead of taking our orders, she came back out of the restaurant, proceeded to move the condiments/sauces basket from the nearby table to ours in the most inefficient way(took 3 trips to move the basket over instead of stacking everything in the basket for one trip), then proceeded to clear the neighboring table’s dirty dishes. She went back in without taking our order even though we were directly on the path to the way back, then came back out to clear the dishes at ANOTHER table. By that time, I was done. I was famished, and the lady couldn’t even take a friggin order. We dined and ditched without actually dining. I’m just glad they get to wash our water glasses, which would probably take the server lady another 10 trips to the kitchen and 20 additional minutes before taking any other orders. We went upstairs to the Cool Cat burger joint instead, where we were seated, given water, and had our orders taken right away.

I’m a transplant from Los Angeles and I have to say this place is the most legit phở I’ve found on the island thus far. I ordered the combo phở and devoured it. In LA, I could almost always tell how good the phở will be by how fresh the vegetable additions are(basil, mung bean, lemon, etc). Here in Maui, the vegetables have always been fresh at any place I’ve tried but the soups have been too watered down or the meat was grisly. Phở Saigon 808 definitely satiated my craving for a hot bowl of noodles. I ate it all and would have continued drinking the soup if I hadn’t wasted room on a beer. :) It’s located in Lahaina which isn’t too convenient for me to get to from Kihei but it was well worth the visit. I left full, happy, and a little sweaty — the exacting repercussions of hot noodles in tropical weather one can expect. I just ate there as I write this review and can’t wait to feel hungry again. Haha.

Definitely decent, pricy for phở, but can’t complaint, it’s Maui, everything is more expansive here. Really nice to have phở soup after a long day of snorkeling. I should mention, the phở soup definitely had MSG added, hubby had a massive headache couple hours after the dinner, his usually response to MSG. If you don’t mind MSG, I think it’s still worth to try.

Moving from Northern VA(NOVA) to San Francisco, one thing that felt inferior was the selection of phở restaurants. Needless to say, I didn’t expect Maui to have a phở restaurant. Just the luck of the draw, Saigon 808’s sign caught my eye when browsing through downtown Lahaina. We stopped in for a bowl of phở and their clay pot with prawns… DELICIOUS!!! Just what i needed to cure my hangover! Lastly, the staff was super friendly!

I am a total Phở aficionado I have Phở every where I go… I live close to San Jose Ca. where there is the highest population of Vietnamese people second only to Saigon. So lots of Phở restaurants sometimes on every corner. This place has one of the richest broths I have tasted well seasoned and not greasy. Veggies are fresh… The owner she is a delight hard working very friendly person. She has great history that has landed her in Maui. The spring rollers were perfect some of the best I have had. We went to Phở Saigon twice in a week so so good. Mahalo! **Looks like there is 2 Unilocal pages for this place?

While I don’t claim to be a phở connoisseur, I take extra delight in this sumptuous soup, which is the national dish of Vietnam. I’m so enamored, in fact, that my sister(to whom I introduced the dish) frequently refers to me as her«phở bro.» I’ve never been known to refuse a bowl, and I have eaten it in places all over. I have my favorite restaurant at home to which I measure all others. None has yet measured up. Until now. I’ll still give the nod to my #1 place, as they specialize and serve only phở. The options on Phở Saigon 808’s menu are severely limited. This is a full-on Vietnamese restaurant, despite the name. But oh, the phở! I had the rare meat choice, and the soup came hot, the meat was lovingly tender, the broth was flavorful, and condiments plentiful. Lemon took the place of the customary lime wedge, but I doubt limes are plentiful in Maui. «Comfort in a bowl» is what I’ve heard phở referred as, and if I were choosing to relocate to Maui, knowing there’s phở this good to be had here would help tip the scales! I rarely dine at the same place twice when I travel, but unless my plans are terribly skewed the next couple of days, I’m planning on having lunch there again before I depart!

Went back a year later in January for dinner. Excellent sweet & sour soup as well as their green papaya salad. They weren’t that busy and yet the wait was very long to have our order taken and then a long wait to get our food. The wait was worth it as the food was fresh and excellent. The location leaves a bit to be desired.
