Chocolate Man

This place is a real gem! Stumbled on to it through a groupon offer for one of their classes and I’m so glad I did! I came into the class as a complete beginner and it was the most rewarding experience. Even more so, their chocolates are OUTSTANDING and much better than Godiva or See’s (both of which I love). Their creations are exquisite and perfect for small gifts, stocking stuffers, or a little something to brighten up your day.

I got the habanero almond toffee for my husband and a fruit and nut bar for me. Soooo delicious! I love the fact that it’s homemade, the quality is top-​notch, and the staff is very friendly. This choco-​holic is going there again today!

Sampled the wares at the NW chocolate festival 2015. Very impressed. I prefer unique things like the rocher that they have — that was one of the best things i had at the whole festival. The quality of all their products was excellent.

I like to come here after dinner at Lakeforest B&G for dessert. I love the variety, and of course the samples!

Love love the truffles here, definitely a gem of a place in the Lake Forest Park area! I always make it a point to stop in here to pick up a few pieces… Okay… Maybe more than a few pieces: D

I have lived in Lake Forest Park for three years and this is the first time I’ve ever been here. I had the salted caramel truffle and the margarita truffle. They were both delicious. Although I think the salted caramel was better. It is a little pricey: $ 3.75 for two truffles but they are handmade and they wree both very good. Support a local business and check out the chocolate man.

It looks beautiful and it tastes as good as it looks.
It’s not overwhelmingly sweet but it has quite a great balance of flavors.

One word «superb»
Here mediocrity is left at the door! Having been around the world and having been a professional haute cuisine chef for twenty years, I know a pastry chef and true chocolatier when I find one. I thoroughly expected to bump into Johnny Depp while Wandering around this store lost in euphoria while transfixed in complete olfactory bliss.
I snapped out of it just long enough to purchase a boxful of artisan truffles. Washington cherry, passion fruit, blood orange, mango… each one taking me on a near holographic journey to another place in time. I’m going to the gym now while still charged with endorphins ! This place is the finest place on planet earth for chocolate lovers. 10 stars!!!

I love this place — it’s in walking distance of my house, and I come here for all my baking and confectionary needs. Plus, I tend to get chocolate gifts for friends here. I particularly like that they have an assortment of samples, which is important when planning out a new recipe.
Also, they make scotch truffles with Ardbeg, which is honestly the best thing in the world if you like both scotch whiskey and truffles.

Took the DWI — Dipping with Intensity workshop last night and not only learned a lot, but also went home with a very full, big box of chocolates that we made in class. Bill made the process incredibly simple for novices to work with successfully and our chocolates are delicious: port ganache chocolates, rum truffles, bourbon bonbons, and two flavors of liquor filled chocolates. Christmas and office parties will never be the same! Two chocolate thumbs up from this couple, and we’ll be back for supplies.

We took three boxes of chocolates to Dallas for a family reunion and they were delicious! It was really fun for everyone to try the different flavors. Each one was a work of art and the flavor so amazing. I am so excited about our newly discovered chocolatier! Keep up the amazing work!

I love this local mom and pop shop. Or should I say Man and Lady Shop? The artisan truffles are beautiful and tasty. I wouldn’t hesitate to give as a gift to others or… more importantly… myself. I took home a variety of treats tonight and I’m so happy I did! I will definitely be back for more. They also have a huge selection of tools, ingredients, and equipment to take home in order to make your own.

I was apprehensive about the strawberry lemonade chocolate I purchased, but it turned out to be my favorite thing! We also had the Mexican chocolate, coconut truffle, and passion fruit truffle. All were delectable.
The chocolate covered sour gummy worms were a mouthful. Both literally, and figuratively! My kids scarfed them down.
I thought the prices were a bit high. One truffle was $ 1.
And it’s not a kid-​friendly shoppe. Too many pricey items that could easily be broken by small hands.
But if I’m in the area, I’ll make a return visit.

Anyone with a imagination and a love for chocolate will enjoy this little shop in Lake Forest Park. Lots to samples and many flavors to explore. Chocolate has no definition here. My favorite item is the hollowed-​out cacao pods. Check them out!

CHOCOLATE! It’s what makes the world go around and they have single source chocolates from around the world! I stopped here after my daughter brought home some samples of their single source chocolates. I just had to go back and get the rest of the single source samples. We tried them all and our consensus was that the Colombian and the Hawaiian sources were the two best. We slightly favored the Hawaiian, but it is very expensive, around $ 25 slightly over a pound. The Colombian is a very close second and not a lot more than the pound plus bars at Trader Joe’s, but so much better!
They don’t just have honkin big chocolate bars, but they have other chocolates candies too. Since I am doing this as a blood glucose control mechanism, I have to stick to the 65% or higher cocoa content chocolates. They do have several sugar free, Stevia sweetened chocolate bars available. Highly recommended unless you are one of those strange people who doesn’t like chocolate. Strange, I know, but I have run across a couple who said «I Hate Chocolate»

This place is more about «chocolate education» rather than a full fledged candy shop. They have all the supplies, classes, and information you need and the place smells amazing!
The candy is good… not the best I’ve ever had… but fresh. A little over priced. I asked if the $ 1.00/per piece, small carmels were sold by the pound (I wanted to buy several boxes for Christmas gifts)…the young woman behind the counter said, «no, they’re a dollar a piece» and turned back to what she was doing. So, I took my holiday dollars to Sees…
Would probably come back for the classes, tho.

Screw Whole Foods, go to Chocolate Man if you’re looking for single origin/​free trade/​fancy South American cocoa — or if you’re looking to get supplies for making your own chocolate candies & confections. They have any and all the supplies you would need to work with chocolate: tempering tools, stone slabs, gold leaf paper, colored gold leaf paper, flavoring oils, vegan food coloring, nibs, gift packaging supplies, etc. They also sell some pretty yummy truffles handmade on site. I came across this place on a whim coming out of Third Place and was pleasantly surprised. I would be interested in taking a chocolate making class here since they also offer classes.

This is a new business in the Lake Forest Park Town Center. Looks interesting. Lots of chocolate samples to try, and specialized ingredients and tools for constructing fancy chocolate treats. Their 3-​hour classes run $ 39. Gotta try one.
