Chocolati Café

Amazing house hot chocolate! Delicious, rich and not too sweet. They have many hot chocolate varieties incl. some interesting signature varieties. Like Chocolati on Facebook and get a free truffle. Vegan milk varieties available too. Very kind staff. Awesome atmosphere and music. Much better than that at Starbucks.

The folks at this location are so slow, ALWAYS! It’s only this location and it may have something to do with the employees’ unwillingness to stop chatting amongst themselves even while taking customer orders. Today the sun actually went down outside while my one drink was being handcrafted.

My gf and I stop by Chocolati pretty much every time we’re planning a walk around the lake. The prices are right, the service is always friendly and they give out free doggy treats/​water bowls.

Wonderful hot chocolate! I got the peanut butter hot cocoa and it was perfect; no weird lumps in it and just pure smooth bliss. Pricing is definitely fair, they don’t charge a crazy amount for what is truly a gourmet drink. If you’re ever walking around Greenlake, pop on in :)

Usually stop in at the Chocolati @ Greenwood, but ended up at the Green Lake location after dinner. Cozy spot. Indulgent mochas and my favorite bittersweet chocolate truffle. Able to catch the tail end of sunset over Green Lake… achieved serenity after one of those Mondays with a capital M.

I’ve been standing in line for over 30 minutes and have not gotten my drink yet. There were only two couples in front of me when I walked up to the window. I love the drinks here, they are delicious. But if I hadn’t already paid I would have left already. Chocolati, you need to hire some baristas that work with a little sense of urgency when there’s a line! A mocha should not take over 5 minutes to make.

Walked here with some girlfriends on a cold winter night. This place was absolutely perfect to chase away the chills. We each got a hot chocolate and I was thrilled to find out that the dark chocolate could be vegan! I ordered a dark hot chocolate with almond milk. Full of chocolate flavor and richness and low on the sugar, it seemed like a decadent treat that didn’t spike my blood sugar.
And for my first-timer’s treat I got a dark chocolate covered ginger. So good.
Shout-​out to the guy helping us that night — he was really helpful in pointing out what was vegan friendly and it was obvious he was having a fun night. I hope to be back soon!

Excited to try the Chocolati Café before a family walk. We went to the walk up window and were immediately greeted. We were told there was a line in the café so they would take our order in a few minutes. That is more than fine, however after 15 – 20 minutes later and multiple people walking by us, entering the café and getting waited on, we soon realized that we were no longer a priority. Its weird because one barista kept saying, «Ill be with you in a minute», so obviously they knew we were still standing there. Word of advice for future customers, Do not wait in the «walk up» window. I don’t understand why they have a «walk up» window if they continue to help customers inside the store. Also a little advice to the baristas/​staff, Its totally fine to help the customers who were there before us, however when you continue to make people wait outside (in the cold) then help people who arrived long after us, bad business. Sorry, its just rude. Small businesses thrive on good customer service. (Ps, we waited in the walk up window because we had our dog with us.)

Love Chocolati drinks and chocolate, but the service at this location is sadly lacking. Often seems under staffed and as if a new system needs to be put in place to help them be more efficient when there are two employees. Would be an even better place to visit if the service matched the quality of their products!
On a happy note, have experienced significantly better/​faster service at the Greenwood and Wallingford locations.

The interior was very welcoming, and the guy working was nice, even though he made a terrible pun about currants. Ask about the currant scone and see if he makes the same joke. I’ll be returning here for sure.

This place has a good mocha and latte. But I give it 3 stars because their service quality is absolutely the worst. One time we waited for over 20 minutes JUST to get an order in. That doesn’t count for the wait time of the drink itself.
Be ready to wait at least 30 minutes for a latte if you have the time. I’d suggest just going to Starbucks down the road.

I do not like mochas but I love them here. This is a great place superb mochas. I love the walk up window, we live locally in green lake and sometimes it’s hard to find a place to grab coffee with our Great Dane plus, they have dog treats ! So she doesn’t mind running a little late to the park.

2 things.
1) Free awesome Wasabi Ginger truffle because it was my first visit. Delicious.
2) The best mocha latte I’ve ever had. It is basically a thick hot chocolate with espresso and wonderful.

This place is awesome. A little small, the people working there are cool, and the ambiance is ok, but nothing really special. The menu, and selection is spot on, and the chocolate/​coffee are absolutely delicious. The barista helped me by suggesting mixing and matching hot chocolates with coffee to make my own kind of combo, and it was delicious. Aztec Double-​Shot Mocha. I’ll definitely be back. Thanks, guys :)

In general, I’m a fan of all Chocolati locations I’ve attended (Greenwood, Wallingford, Greenlake), but I have to take down a few stars for this location specifically.
I’ve been here twice in two weeks. Both times it was at peak times, yet the store wasn’t overly busy. The problem: There was ONE barista on staff. No other worker in the shop. We had to wait MUCH longer than should be acceptable for relatively simple coffee drinks and tea.
My suggestion: hire more staff when there are more customers coming (ie. peak times, like weekends).
For customers: be prepared for long waits at this location. And get a chocolate fig, you’ll thank me later ;)

Was just in and was only customer at the counter inside waited for 10mins and left. Lady with magenta hair said hi and continued to serve the walk up window and couldn’t be bothered with taking my order. Btw she spent the entire 10mins making a single coffee for window person. Wasn’t juggling more than that! I watched! Time to hit Bauhaus always a better coffee and experience. Thx for being shitty! Cheers

First time in Seattle, and stopped here for tea, had the best Chai latte with hemp milk and a delicious sea salt almond truffle! I’ll definitely be back to try the other chocolates. So good! And very nice batista :)

Stopped in here for some coffee after lunch at Green Lake. Nice little place with decent truffles, coffee, and hot chocolate. I got an iced latte with vanilla and hazelnut flavoring and it was pretty good. I wouldn’t go across town for it, but if I’m back in the neighborhood I would stop in again.

We dropped in on Sunday evening of July 12^th after having dinner at Duke’s right down the street. I was feeling a little chilly being this was my first few hours of being in Seattle after flying in from middle Georgia. I tried the lavender hot chocolate & it was wonderful. The barrista was super friendly & struck up conversation with all of the guests. He gave me a truffle since it was my first time at Chocolati. This was a very nice way to be welcomed into Seattle.

great hot chocolate although they have to find a way for the chocolate not to harden into chunks after cooling a little bit. very off putting. very small space which I like on weekdays. different vibe than one in free wood but this is by the lake which is great. hot chocolate to work off the walk around the lake. or was it the other way around?

I forgot to mention that Chocolati makes awesome favors for weddings! I was in a wedding and they use elements of Chocolati in their wedding! For the bridesmaids gifts, the bride had customized chocolate dipped fortune cookies that had quirky and funny sayings in them. Not only were they super cute but they were yummy!
For the wedding itself, they had an entire bar set up of different chocolate truffles and candy from Chocolati! Seriously the best candy bar I’ve seen to date. They also made these chocolate trees/​bushes that the wedding party could take home! I’ll post a picture of these elements!
They also had their wedding rehearsal at Chocolati. We were able to eat a lot of candy and try their delicious drinks before the wedding. Even if you’re not getting married, you should pop by one of their stores for some tasty drinks and chocolates.
Now that I’m planning my own wedding, I immediately thought of Chocolati for my own wedding favors and dessert bar. They ship outside of Seattle, too! I highly recommend them! Love the owners — they are the best!

I’ve heard such good things about Chocolati so I was really looking forward to my visit. The hot chocolate was good but not great. The service was terrible… on so many levels.
The barista kept coughing without even bothering to cover her mouth. Her long hair was down she kept running her fingers through it and flipping it back and forth. Not very sanitary. When she ladled the chocolate into my cup it dripped all down the side of it. She looked at the mess and handed it to me just like that anyways. The kicker was when she said she assumed that I did not want any whipped cream on my drink because what I ordered had so much fat in it already. I actually did not want any that made me want to add it on anyways. My attempts at polite conversation were met with her blank looks and near silence.
The small sitting area was cozy enough, but next time I’ll head to the coffeehouse on the next block where the service and drinks are remarkably more pleasant.

Lovely little place. I love coming here for truffles and coffee.

How I heard of this place: Walks around Greenlake, cravings for chocolate, it’s hard not to know of Chocolati in Seattle. I think the first time I went to one was about four years ago with three Persian friends in Wallingford.
Type of cuisine: A café focused on everything chocolate, from truffles to hot cocoa, to espresso beverages and pastries (cookies, brownies, etc.). You want chocolate, you have at least this one café to choose from in various Seattle neighborhoods.
Ambiance: This café, at Greenlake, is small and intimate. Two single leather chairs are available for comfortable seating in the corner and four tables with wooden chairs are placed around the establishment (two alongside the window facing the lake and two in the center). The dark browns and wood give the space a feeling of warmth, comfort and tranquility.
What I ordered: I always order one of the specialty hot chocolate concoctions at Chocolati. On this trip, I went with the mandarin hot chocolate ($ 4.50); real chocolate melted into twelve ounces of steaming, hot non-​fat milk and a touch of mandarin flavor. My walking companion ordered a twelve-​ounce mocha for the stroll around the lake.
What I loved: The real chocolate used in the hot cocoas is hard to beat. Chunks of soft chocolate continue to melt in your mouth and float around the cup as you sip your drink to the last, rich drop!
Why I loved it: The location is perfect as a place to meet up before or after a walk around the lake, to catch up with a friend in a cozy setting or grab a delicious, tasty beverage (through the walk-​up window). The hot chocolate consistently good and a wonderful way to spend a cold, fall or winter day indoors reading, while viewing the beauty of Greenlake.
Cost: Average to high ($ 3-​$ 6 per beverage)

Walking is good for the soul.
I’m new to Seattle and fortunate enough that my girlfriend found us an apartment in East Greenlake which is just about one of my favorite places to walk in the whole city. There is life, activity, local motion.
I stopped into the café because I love coffee and chocolate. I treated myself to a small hot chocolate and the proprietor treated me to a truffle as a first-​timer.
I’m a business owner so I know the feeling of pride associated with sharing your product with potential lifers.
I enjoyed the courtesy and that chocolate lasted all of two minutes. It was made with love.
When I get my choco fix I know where I’m going!

It’s cute, air conditioned, and the coffee is okay. I’ve already reviewed the chocolate, so I figured I would touch on their other food offerings. I’ve had the broccoli and cheddar croissant (I asked for a ham and cheddar, but was given this instead). I was pretty surprised at the first bite, but it was a fairly good croissant. I was excited to come back to try tomato and feta, which was stale and a sad follow-​up to the broccoli cheddar. It also was more of a tomato paste/​sauce than actual tomato, which was disappointing. I also got a slice of quiche, which has yet to be tried. I’m sorry they don’t offer a way to heat it up. Ultimately this is not a place people go to eat, even pastry, so I can’t see the quality or offerings improving.
I’m not sure if they have 15 employees or what, but it is also strange that I never see the same people working behind the counter twice.
The walk-​up window and friendly attitude toward pooches is nice.

Holy mother the service at this location is glacial.
We stopped in for a drink and were there 15 minutes waiting in line. The barista was sooooo slow. Even her movements in between actually working on the drinks and ringing people up were like she was in slow motion. It was painful.
The drink was tasty. This location is very cute and charming and they have a walk up window. But dannng. It is slow.
