Beacon Bay Auto Washes

This place is expensive. For about $ 5 less you get a better wash at the bake car wash on bake and Trabuco.

I was more impressed with the shoeshine I got from the dude inside this joint. This car wash place isn’t anything fancy — and it’s not a better price than anywhere else around.
Go here if you’re close to it — but don’t feel like you’ve gotta go out of your way for anything spectacular at Beacon Bay — that’s not what this place is.

I got hosed at Beacon Bay Car Wash!
I paid $ 25 for their best wash and went to lunch. I came back to my car and the wheels on the right side were still dirty and observed dried water spots on the right side. I had to ask someone to clean the wheels. They did not even attempt to remove some tree sap on my hood.
I got in the car and realized that they cleaned the inside of the windshield but only wiped the dust off of the console but didn’t even wipe it down. They also forgot the air freshener.
The bottom line here is the Beacon Bay Car Wash sucks. I over paid for the wash and did not receive all of the services I paid for. I would have rated this place a «0» if that was an option. I basically went through a drive-​through wash and got my windshield cleaned for $ 25. I am never coming back.

This place is pretty decent. Quite big and usually with a lot of guys to dry your car. Check in attendant does not try to sell you the world and cashiers are very nice and polite. I go here at least once a week. It is not cheap but car wash prices have gone up lately!

This place is AWFUL!!! Vacuum sucks… ran my card twice like another review on here so I will check my credit card for dup charges… also they don’t clean console so I asked them to and then they did something to mess up my ashtray door. Then the guy that worked there lied to my face and his mgr and said he didn’t clean or touch console! Really??? Go figure???

This place blows. I went at lunch so I realized it would take a bit longer but it was over an hour and when my name was called I had to point out the guy forgot to do my wheels — which I paid extra for. By this time I was already late getting back to work, jumped in my car and realized the whole right side of my car was covered in dry spots! PLUS they forgot the air freshener. I even contacted the location online to give them the opportunity to redeem themselves and I didn’t receive a response.

They get the job done, but nothing special as I still have dirt marks on my car, even after they’ve just hand wiped down the car. The service is quick & OK. Not much customer service though. They’re just getting you in & out.

This place is horrible everytime I have gone it keeps getting worse. I asked the people nicely to make sure my car is clean I always end up cleaning my car better myself. I have been severly times thinking it would get better but I was wrong, They wash your car but the inside can look wayyy better. I feel like they dont try to make you happy.

Point and simple they get the job done, nothing to it.
I like this place because its close to work and for the most part they do a hand car wash.
The price is 14.99 which is not much and in less than 30 mins you vehicle is clean and fresh. You can also visit their website for coupons didn’t know about until I asked for punch card. But defitnetely a place to consider if you’re in the area.
The people are great here!
Tip well its not an easy job, I should know since I have a truck and its takes me forever to dry that beast.

I used to go to Checkered Flag but switched to Beacon Bay a couple of years ago because they cheat you out of wax if they can get away with it. I thought Beacon Bay was great until lately when they started doing the same thing. Try this out if you go there: Pay the extra money for a wax, and then watch your car go through the wash. Almost always you won’t get the wax. You have to call them down on it and make them do it again. Failing to give you what you paid for once can be an honest mistake, twice can be overlooked, but when it gets to the point where you pay extra for wax every time and you don’t get it, you’re dealing with dishonest and disreputable people and it’s time to take your business elsewhere.

Don’t expect much from this place. Like the other reviewer said… it’s really for «convenience». It gets the job done but you’ll still have dripping water, saps from tree, etc.
I went to the Chevron station up on Bake/​Irvine, I’d say this place is slightly better than that.

Gets two stars for being in a convenient location to my office and for offering an inexpensive exterior only wash option ($ 8).
Now the caveat… this is not a hand wash! They use rotating brushes along the doors and wheels of your car and the dryers roll ON your car… what you say? Yes, the guy at the car wash said that it won’t harm the car because they are Teflon rollers… uh, hello, it only takes one grain of soot/​sand to ruin the paint when something is ROLLING AGAINST YOUR CAR!
Then they barely wiped down the car as it was baking in the sun and they did not even bother to wipe up all the drips where the hatchback drained on the roof… and because they apparently don’t have soft water, I have water spots all over the car after a wash.
Pretty miserable experience. At least the staff were nice and they offer a shoe shine… again, these contribute to the one star of five.
Great wash experience if you don’t give a darn about the quality of your paint.

Convenience is the word of the day for this place. Don’t come here expecting a great car wash. It’s basically one step up from the automated deals at gas stations.
Speaking of gas stations, this car wash does not sell gas which is a bit of a hassle.
Bottom line if you just want the basics and live nearby this is a good choice.

For $ 14.99, you get a pretty decent wash & vacuum in about half the time it would take for you to do it yourself. Honestly, they do a decent job; they hand wipe off the water and spray inside and outside of the windows, along with trying their best to get you out of there quickly. I usually watch to see the progress and the guy who wiped down my car was pretty meticulous.
Don’t forget to tip them for a job well done. Even though you are paying them to do something you could do yourself, you have to realize that they are doing you a service. So don’t complain about being disappointed about spending money on a wash. I know that my time costs more than what they charge for a wash, so they save me time and therefore save me the effort of doing it myself. They also have a stamp card that is accepted at all Beacon Bay locations (buy 9, get a wash free). Pretty awesome!

Been here several times & they do a lousy job of vacuuming your vehicle. Customer service is practically non-​existent. They act like you’re bothering them.

I’ve tried getting my car washed at this place twice and have been majorly disappointed both times. Their base wash is $ 15 which is high and that doesn’t even include tire dressing, for that you have to bump up to the $ 18 wash. So I did.
The interior of the car was cleaned ok, the center console wasn’t wiped down thoroughly and they put my sandy water shoes on top of my back seats instead of leaving them on the floor. Thank you for getting my seats sandy now…
The worst part was the outside of the car and I didn’t realize how bad it was until I left. They did not even hand dry my car. There are drip streaks all over the entire car, from top to bottom. And there are dirt spots that the drive-​thru didn’t catch. The windows weren’t cleaned well either. The outside of my car would’ve looked better if I drove through a gas station wash myself. I’ll never go back and I’d like my 20 bucks back too.

This place is pretty good and the prices are pretty reasonable for south OC. I don’t know why its called Beacon Bay or what that is referring to but I’ll take it. Beacon Bay is pretty awesome!
The service is pretty friendly considering how snooty car wash customers can be (you know the type… the ones that wash their car like everyday… forbid there be a speck of dirt…). It takes some devoted/​kind people to be able deal with customers of any kind and still be able to maintain a smile. Everyone here is pretty friendly and they are pretty easy-​going with the up-​selling. Not too pushy and quick to drop it.
The prices are reasonable. There is a quickie «Just Wash It» option for $ 8 where they will wash the outside and wipe it down only. No interior stuff (vacuuming, etc). Nice, faster option. This is great choice when the inside of your car is really not dirty but the outside could use a thorough wash and you don’t want to pay for the extra, unnecessary work. ALSO a great option when the inside of your car is so messy (i.e. lots of your crap has ended up occupying the back seat) that you are too lazy to «pre-​clean» it by picking up your junk so that the car wash dudes can vacuum and wipe down the inside. So perfect! They do a good job and don’t skimp on drying your car just because you got the cheapest option.
The other packages start at $ 14.99 (I think) for the basic interior and exterior cleaning. And of course they offer all your various detailing supreme options which I am in no position to review. They also offer a few pre-​pay options where you can pay upfront for multiple washes at once (like 10+). This saves you a couple bucks per wash if you are able to fork over the cash upfront. Good option for those who can exercise it.
The atmosphere is also good for a car wash… or as good as car wash atmosphere can be. They keep the waiting area clean. The waiting area is also pretty spacious and you can sit both under the covered outdoor area or out in the sun for those of you who want skin cancer. They have some reading material (free magazines, newspapers etc) and a tiny convenience store inside. The selection of store is not very good (as car wash stores go). Limited beverages and small candy/​junk food selection. But its a car wash, so I can deal. From what I can tell the prices are fair for being overpriced… about $ 1.85 for a bottle of water. Not great but not like being at the airport where that bottle costs $ 3 – 5.
Another perk about this place is that they are attempting to be a «green» car wash. I learned via their signage that by washing your car at a commercial car wash instead of doing it at home that you are actually saving something like 60 gallons of water… at least! And the runoff from your car gets treated instead of just going into the stormdrain and watershed like when you do it in your driveway. (No, I am not in cahoots with the car wash people… I happen to work in the green building industry so this eco-​nonsense is appealing to me and I take note of it when businesses display it.)
Time-​wise, these guys are fairly efficient and get you out of there in about 30 minutes for the basic services.
Another item, they offer a 48 hour rain guarantee of sorts. Supposedly if it rains within 48 hours of when you got your car washed with them, you can come back and get it re-​washed for free. Great deal for those who like their car to be friggin’ spotless.
Decent car wash option in this area. No complaints and this is my go-​to car wash for now. Now that I call the OC home, I can now cross «car wash» off my list of new neighborhood things I need to figure out.

Good car wash but a great shoe shine (shoe shining) service inside the lobby!

This car wash does a decent job for the price, and they are pretty quick about it too. I think the basic car wash was $ 14, however if you’re just looking to get the outside done, they have a $ 8 «quicky» wash.
I’ve been to places that do a better job, but they also charge significantly more and take a lot longer.
