If you like to drink, don’t come here. The first time I came, it was a week night, not crowded, and had 2 bartenders working at the bar. They did seem to be busy and were not standing around but for some crazy reason I could not get a drink. I stood at the bar for 20 mins YESTWENTYMINS with my credit card in my hand and politely(then awkwardly) smiling at the bartenders waiting for somebody to acknowledge me. I was wearing a watch and yes I did actually time it because I have never experienced anything like that. Once my friend I was standing with finished his drink we left and went to Big Shots across the street where we were served immediately. The next time I went was only because my friend’s band was playing. Me and a friend stood at the bar for a longgg time. I didnt time it this time so I don’t know exactly how long it was but people around us were all complaining and confused as to what the hold up was. I’ve decided that if you do want a drink at Boscoes you need to stand on the right side of the bar and the bartenders might serve you then. Anyways, this place is very dirty and has no character as other dive bars do. There are not many places to sit and there is no waiter service anyway. I am seriously shocked to see that there are so many good review for the bartenders because that was not my experience at all. This place is a dump and needs a remodel stat!

Great little bar here. Not super noticeable from the st, but definitely a nice little place to grab a beer or 2 after work. The female bar tender did great when she served us, sat down at the bar and within 1 minute had our drink order taken. Sat and enjoyed some sports on the flat screens in front of the bar. When I finished my first beer, it only took the Bartender 45 seconds to see I was done, and ask if I wanted another. very quick service(this was on a Friday night) there’s a few pool tables, couple tables to chill at, and karaōke(which wasn’t on when we were there, but a nice touch if you’re Into that) I’m not too big on bar food, but I saw they offered corn dogs and fries and such, corn dogs were only $ 1.50 great deal! They weren’t microwaved crap corn dogs either, properly cooked, crispy and good. Can’t go wrong for a buck and a half. The crowd in the bar seemed to be the«bro» type l, which isn’t exactly my crowd, but everyone was having a great time and smiles were had all around. Will visit again when I’m in the area.

Love this place, it reminds me of a plce from back home. The bartenders are always nice and the atmosphere is awsome. I love the music and they have karaōke. Im going to make this place my regular hangout.

I see a lot of people check in here on Unilocal so I thought I would check it out. My first impression of the place was definitely not the best, The bartender who was working when I came in paid no attention what so ever. Once I finally got a drink I had to ask this guy OVER4TIMES to close out my order!!! I was getting ready to leave when Phil, an employee there went out of his way to give me quality service, He closed me out the first time I asked and also recommended the Taco Tuesday deal. They are AMAZING $ 0.75street style tacos, Chicken or Beef. these could go for over $ 3.00 any day. I even got extra for my roommates to try. I will defiantly be back for this! Thanks Phill!

Great bar locals are nice great bands. Lost my phone here and 10 minutes later they were yelling for the owner witch most places will steal your phone.

This place is trashy as fuck. If you want to get hit on by creepy patrons and/or staff, this is the place to go.

The Tuesday Tacos are AMAZING. Yeah, okay, they aren’t the best tacos ever, but for SEVENTY-FIVECENTSAPIECE they are super good. Full of meat, cheese, and lettuce and tomato, with delicious shells… you could certainly do worse. Had another great night at Boscoe’s, and definitely plan on coming back!

I went this past weekend to try a new place. The service was ok but the atmosphere and the crowd was weird. There wasn’t much to do because they only had one pool table. The«band» that was«performing» was terrible. It seemed as they were having a horrible rap battle to pre mixed songs they made on their laptops haha. All you could hear was muffles into the mic. Terrible place. The only reason I’m giving two stars is because the service wasn’t that bad and the bartenders were very nice. But my group and I will not be going again.

This bar is not even cool enough to be considered a dive bar. The place is filthy, the music is terrible, the glasses are chipped and getting a clean glass is almost impossible. Every time I have gone there has been some sort of fight going on in the parking lot. Stay away! If you want to go to a dive bar go to the Mule or something… this place is just ghetto.

I don’t go for drinks in my home town often, but when I do I usually feel«Meh» about it. I came to this bar with some friends to see another friend play the meinl in a band featured that night… and that support of a friend was the ONLY thing to draw me to this place. The clientele was a mix of bro’s and punks(possibly a product of the band playing) and I don’t know, dive bars just aren’t really my thing. I can appreciate a beach bar because things are supposed to be just a little more relaxed and wild near the water but dive bars like this… I just can’t find much to appreciate. Oh wait, one thing I appreciate — cheap drinks. I am a big fan of hard cider and I saw they had angry orchard on tap so I requested one from the young barback and he told me for only $ 2 more, I could have it in a sweet, branded 3-D tree glass. Score! This moment of delight was really more credit to Angry Orchard than Boscoe’s but I still appreciated it. My girlfriends got jealous of my fancy glass as opposed to the plastic ones they normally serve drinks in, so before I knew it everyone was ordering Angry Orchards and we all had friendship glasses! Kinda fun right? Anyway, we found a table near the stage, the night wore on, the band went on, some people danced and I yawned. I looked around and realized this place was named after the owner’s dog which I find endearing and sweet… but one thing I cannot EVER commend is carpeted bars. People drink at bars. People who drink get drunk. Drunk people spill drinks. Carpet absorbs drinks forrrreeeevvvveerrrrr. I just find the whole thing unsanitary… its like having carpet in your bathroom. ICK! I won’t rush back there… but thanks for having Angry Orchard and the promotion!

Gee whiz i just dont know how to put this into words… When you walk into boscoes you get an overwhelming feeling that youve just been exposed to a large amount of hepatitis c. And the tattoo parlor next door doesnt help either. They hate any sort of people that walk in the door that mite seem strange or different in comparison to their usuall dim– witted crowd. I wouldnt suggest buying food there because there is a rumor going around that there is ecoli encrusted and caked into the cooking utensils. This place definitly needs a bar rescue. Anyone have jon taffers number?

I’ll give props for the cheap drinks– but then again, I’d be offended if they tried charging LA prices for a pint of cider. Other than affordable booze, this place makes me think of a gritty dive without that feeling of intimacy. It’s cool that they have live music(metal band, then reggae-rock the night we went), but the sound system could use an upgrade. Also, somehow my friend’s clothes managed to reek of cigarette smoke after we left even though we hadn’t been around any smokers. It’s magic!

This place gets 2 stars for the ok people that work here! My band played here on August 10th, 2013 @ 10pm. The staff was ok to us and our friends, who’ve never been there before. The food is decent from what I’ve been told but they wouldn’t make anything for me as they were closing the kitchen down a little earlier than usual. My Jack and Cokes were decent and my wife liked hers also, we only drank here. They lose 3 stars because the sound system needs to be updated, we saw people upset they couldn’t hear the opening bands singer which is a bummer because she has an awesome voice! No reason to return.

As a local dive bar in Lake Forest, this would probably be my go to joint… if I had the unfortunate privilege to live in L.F. The 2 stars are more for the live music aspect. Horrible horrible sound. The bar should invest a little in a more updated system. Something I was pleasantly surprised with: their house beer Boscoe [?] was actually really good. The overall place was fine. Honestly, they should just stick with a juke box or something. Unless they can improve their sound, then it’d be all good.

My well warranted dismissive attitude toward any thing/place south of Jamboree in OC is ever so slowly being eroded away by SOC friends including exiled Unilocal buds Mary R and her Esposo, Robert P. My main problems with SOC is the predominance of chain restaurants and cookie cutter homes and office buildings. It’s places like Boscoe’s that gives me hope. Divey with blue collar patrons slurping up hh domestics for $ 1.50 had the place barely 1⁄3 full on an early Thursday night. Woulda thought the place would be packed with that super deal. One staff member efficiently ran the whole show: bartending, waitressing, bussing, all with a smile. She even gave me a heads up on the $ 1.50 special when I ordered a New Castle at a very reasonable regular price of $ 4.75. For my 1st time, and granted only one hour spent, this local SOC watering hole is A-OK by me.

This is a bar! How good do you want it to be? We had a fun time, drinks were good, wife got drunk and we had a blast. Its not the Ritz and not The Yard House but the drinks were great, the food was actually good and the bartender was fun. If you are looking for a dark neighborhood bar with good service and cheap drinks this is the place. I don’t know who the band was but they were very good too! I don’t know what’s up with the negativity, we had a good time.

I’m still getting used to orange county bars being in little strip malls, but I guess it could be worse… no bars at all. I like this place, and it serves as my buddy Seth’s home bar… prob cause of his obsession with Tito’s and the fact that this place has Tito’s bar mats by the door where he sits. I haven’t had their food yet, but word on the street is that its goooooood.
