Hookups is the place to be ! All of the people who work here are so friendly and attend to everyones needs very quickly gloria, oso, and anthony are da bomb:) this enviorment is very mellow on the weekdays its a really good place to chill study for school and just relax. On thursdays fridays and saturdays this place gets lit they have djs on everyone of those nights and everyone is always in the best mood. If you havent been to hookups hookah i would highly reccomend it to everyone youll never be dissapointed with the service or atmosphere

Jay and Abe are awesome, lounge is welcoming and clean. Djs on the weekends is a fun experience.

I apologize because I left a review on this page at three stars for another establishment in Lake Forest. This is the corrected review.
You pay before you sit down and they have a menu of pre-​mixes or you can make your own. Our group of three got the «Fruit Basket», a fruit blend. It started off very smooth and flavorful. We got our coals changed out regularly but towards the end, before the coals or shisha was completely finished, the hits were really harsh and gross. We didn’t finish.
The jams were freakin’ awesome. I loved all the music, lights, and effects going on. The DJ dude was wearing a PTV shirt (hell yeah, I high fived him for sure).
The employees were very friendly. However, the restrooms were not working and there was no sign telling us beforehand. I walked into the bathroom and there was water all over the floor. I decided to wash my hands and then the sink wasn’t working. UGH SERIOUSLY. GO TO THE BATHROOM BEFORE YOU COME HERE.
They also have ice tips! :D and someone was wearing a Ball Pyton around their arm. WTF.

Chill atmosphere, bumping jams, good selection of flavors, friendly staff, munchies and drinks, another plus ice tips!

Worst service. Overcharged on a hookah because it was our first time here. Charged cover charge on top of that and it was a Thursday night. Never coming here again. Coals took over an hour to come.

This establishment is disgusting. Ripped couches, over priced hookahs, and underage kids drinking and smoking. The security guard is no ordinary Paul blart, he must think he’s in the academy. I witnessed him kick out potential customers who were trying to pay for the hookah and an unused pool table, and by kick out I mean physically. This whole altercation made my experience here terrible.
The only time I would ever come back is if I had to use a restroom… Which isn’t well
maintained either.

This is the best hookah lounge in south oc. The people are amazing and they always have a great DJ playing. It’s affordable and they pay attention to detail. Definitely the best hookah lounge around.

I’ve been to quite a few hookah lounges and I can honestly say this one is the best, in many ways. Its well priced for the exciting and fun atmosphere and how well the bowls are made. The workers and owners are incredibly nice and have always made everyone feel welcome and like a family. I used to go there nearly every single night and made some incredible friends. If I was still living in the area, I’d still go by whenever I got the chance. I may not enjoy the music, because I only like older music, but I can definitely say it is poppin in there. The lights mixed with the DJ are rad! Basically all summed up, I miss this place!

This place is awesome. I just started coming here and all I can say is that is by far the best hookah lounge that I have ever been too. Jay, the manager, hires great workers with impeccable customer service. Jay, and his employees are constantly making sure all customers have coals and are pleased with their experience at Hookups. The environment is great and even on the busiest days (Friday and Saturday) there is still a place for those wanting a quieter area, in the front. If you are looking for a great hookah lounge to go to, this is it.

Best option for your hookah fix in South OC. Nothing pretentious about this place. Just jaded leather furniture and solid hookah. Plethora of flavors and pre-​assembled house mixes to go along with with Titanium coals! Located in the heart of the beautiful city of Lake Forest

This place isn’t very clean all the couches are ripped and the ice doesn’t stay cold. Don’t go here not worth it.

Went in to pick up some shisha Togo. 100 grams for $ 13. Barely got half for the price. Too many people hanging out and not working.

The owner is creepy and hits on young girls. I came here with a guy friend and a couple of girls and he kept making inappropriate remarks. Charges a lot and the atmosphere was uncomfortable. Would not recomemend

The only reason to go here is to meet new people. It’s cool that it’s set up in a way that lets you easily socialize (with either friends or new people, going alone isn’t usually a problem)… But the hookah is subpar and overpriced, the employees are assholes who take jokes way too far, and the owner creeps on girls hardcore. There’s a dj on Friday/​Saturday, but he always plays the same few songs and all of them are about nothing but objectifying women. If you just want to meet people it’s great, but if you want a good experience outside of that go elsewhere.

I’ve been coming here for a good while now and always have had great service! Good hookah, good flavors and a great place to kick back!

This place has gone down the drain…
This used to be a hookah lounge where you could chill with friends and talk, now there’s loud music coming from the back. This place can’t handle that type of vibe.
Con’s:
–anoying low quality and unbalanced music
–A bit tacky with the décor and rbg lights.
–takeout expensive AF… Seriously $ 7 for 50g if I remember correctly. Hookah price is normal though and cover/​1 hookah per 2 pple requirement is normal (FYI).
–hookah flavors not mixed well/​inconsistent. Seriously. Come on guys.
Pro’s:
–its one of the few hookahbars in this area

I gave this place another try, came in with my sister and her bff. Owner/​manager seemed nice I didn’t want to make it obvious that I wrote a bad review so I acted like it was my first time. We ordered the honeydew, service was quick and atmosphere was cooler. We sat in the very back in the corner and no one bothered us. They actually remodeled a bit since I came, nice! Will I come again? Sure.

This hookah lounge is alright the staff & owner are nice, friendly, and the hookahs are awesome. But the annoying techno DJ kinda kills the vibe with the loud music and stupid kids attempting to dance around where the hookahs are I kept hoping one of them would fall on the hookah so I could laugh at how stupid they are for jumping around next to hot coals and glass. I’ve been here a good number of times over the past decade and have always had great service and hookahs but this past visit and the one before this I have found that the kids who just turn 18 that come here are really disrespectful to others inside and outside of the lounge and try to create a negative environment for no reason it’s like mellow out and smoke some hookah. Unfortunately I don’t think ill be returning here anymore because I just don’t care to be around the younger crowd. Don’t let my review discourage you from coming here the hookahs are great and the service is awesome just don’t go on the weekend and you will be fine!
