Sushi Yaki

My husband and I come here often. The sushi is always really good. It appears to be family owned and operated. Everyone is really nice. The best part is they let you order half rolls on most of their sushi rolls. They also don’t mind doing special orders.

I found this place actually thru online delivery site. The price was pretty good so I tried. Total regret.
Dont be hooked by its price. You get what you pay for. The portion is really small, and quality of fish is junk.
Especially rolls are the worst.
Believe me, you will regret ordering sushi here. (Whether it is a nigiri or a roll)
Im gonna try their other menus (like Teriyaki bowl, or bento) and hope for the better result.

I absolutely love this place! I’ve been 3 times within the past two weeks… Oops. I’m vegan so I usually get their avocado roll and cucumber roll and they are so good! Hits the spot and the people working are very nice! Family owned restaurant so I am glad to support them. Inexpensive but yummy and the food quality is great.

Pretty good for a hole in the wall type sushi spot. Got 2 rolls, philly and baked salmon, and a hand roll for around 20. Wait time was about 10 minutes as the only customer at 2pm. Compared to other rolls spots around lake forest/​foothill ranch the price point will probably have me coming back.

Ordered baked salmon roll to-​go, they said 15 minutes. I got there in 30, and they were still making it. Not worth the wait, as it was BURNT and taste nothing remotely like salmon! How horrible, to crave some sushi, and you get terrible service, (place was dead! How can you make it late?!) HORRIBLE «sushi», (my left foot can make a better tasting roll). I don’t even know if I should ask for my money back because if I did, I would have to go back to that terrible place.

The 4-​star review is misleading. If you want sushi for a cheap price, I suggest going to Del Sushi in Irvine. Price is the same and it kicks this place’s ass.

Best Lunch Deal that is HUGE for the price! The owners are so sweet too!

Great sushi. I work by here, so I went there at lunch. The boy who works at the front is bright and competent. Quick and friendly service. I will be back! But… For lunch specials they have A, B, C, or D. Well, I got the D choice, so I had to make sure I didn’t say, «Can I get the D?» … LMAO!!! All the men sitting within earshot would have had a field day… SO! I said, «could I get the, um, letter D for lunch?» … So embarrassing…

This is an inexpensive sushi hole in the wall place. Prices arent so bad but dont expect quality sushi. If you check in, you get a free bottle water bottle. Their sashimi isn’t so great tasting. I may return.

I have eaten at this location 3 times in the past 2 months. It’s a smaller environment but can sit a group of 4 if the southwest corner L-​shape area has not been taken.
Pricing is amazing — much of their standard menu items are under $ 5, which offsets the quality of the food (not bad at all).
The only thing I found Jarring about my experience on all 3 visits was the Customer Service.
Watching the front desk attendant «assist» my colleagues was heart-​breaking.
One of our colleagues in particular is European, very well mannered and gentle with her approach in all things. When she innocently asked about ingredients on one of the menu items, she was answered with a fierce «Check the ingredients on the menu, right Here, All you need to know is in There». This may not sound so bad — but if you could only witness the tone (my goodness) I believe you would be in agreement with my decision to lower the overall rating considerably.
I watched the front desk attendant bulldoze through 3 of my colleagues. When it was my turn I approached the front desk with money in hand, and quickly stated my entire order as efficiently as possible. Not another word was spoken aside from «Do you want your receipt.», I simply shook my head and awaited for my order to be barked.
Look, if you want to eat decent Sushi at competitive prices, I would certainly recommend this place.
However — if you have had a rough day or are going through something that has you in a foul mood, the human interaction will certainly add to the more negative aspect of whatever you are going through.
I have decided to stick Zen Sushi which is near-​by.

Not very happy with this restaurant…
I’ve come here often because I work close by, but last Tuesday I went and ordered their Green Dragon Roll and their chicken/​beef bowl. They were delicious and the hospitality was great. Until I got home and realized I now had food poisoning!
I missed 3 days from work because of it and I’m pretty sure it was the sushi because my doctor asked me if I had eaten any raw foods, I told him what I ate and he asked me if it’s happened to me before… of course not just this one time.
Maybe it’s me… I don’t know…

We enjoyed this little place. The service was nice and quick and the food delicious. Also very affordable. We highly recommend it.

Bottom of the barrel sushi was not impressed at all and the cashier was not too friendly… also I tried to order from there menu and the first thing I picked she said they didn’t serve … why is it on your menu than?

Affordable prices and very friendly staff! It was our first time here and we had a pleasant experience with the food and service. I definitely will come back for their tempura shrimp.

Ordered from here about 5 times now and so far their food has been good and service quick. I think of this place as Japanese fast food. It’s fast and prices are low and food decent so we like it.

Love this place, is down the street from my job so i love it. I’ve been getting the the lunch special B because i had never really gave sushi a try, but I finally did n their rolls are amazing. Everything is super fresh. And made when ordered! So I call in to order n it takes no more than 5−10mins. When I get my food it’s nice and warm. I love love love their miso soup as well! Everything has so much taste! Last but not least the staff is really nice! Great customer service. The food is great n affordable!

I love this place! My mother and I come here whenever we are feeling down. The udon soup is always just what we need to feel better. It’s so yummy, always piping hot, and the spicy powder adds an extra kick of flavor. We’ve been going to this place for years, and the people who work here are always friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend Sushi Yaki! Just try and tell me that udon doesn’t look good, I won’t believe you.

I work in Irvine and usually consider only two options for lunch:
1. Brown bag it.
2. SUSHI YAKI
My friend Gil got me hooked on this place and now we’re there about three times a week.
Sushi Yaki has a good variety of options from your basic $ 5 chicken bowl, several combo lunches and many specialty rolls. I usually go for «Lunch C» or the «Poke Bowl» — a super spicy take off of the chicken bowl.
It is the ideal office lunch place because it is fast, clean and a comfortable setting. I like that they include the Miso soup on most lunches. The lady that takes the orders is super friendly and knows us by name already.
In a hurry for some inexpensive Sushi? Then I highly recommend Sushi Yaki.

Wow, this was not good sushi. Slow service. The lady taking orders is not very pleasant. The chicken teriyaki is bland. My lunch special was nothing special. The rolls didn’t taste very good, it was actually pretty gross. Oh and everything is served on paper plates. I will not be returning.
Don’t waste your money, there is a subway next door.
