Great food, at a good price. I was a little intimidated by all of the choices on the menu the first time I went in, but the staff is always friendly and helpful. I have never felt rushed to make a choice. We have tried almost all of the different tacos and some favorites are: kickin’ chicken and all of the fish tacos. The Mexican corn is tender and sweet.

Delicious beers and tacos for an affordable price! They have an assortment of tacos and burgers you have to try to sweet potato fries and their dipping sauce. Definitely worth it to drop in for the price and yumminess!

We were in the area, read the reviews on this place and had to try it for ourselves. While the burgers sounding intriguing we went with a variety of tacos(wipeout, Malibu, and Baja) along with the fire avocado. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and would highly recommend this place to others looking for great food at reasonable prices. We’ll be back to try new items the next time we are in town.

Excellent choice for a quick, fresh lunch! We had the Baja fish tacos and luau teriyaki chicken tacos with zucchini fries and everything was delicious! Good value and easy in and out. If traveling through, definitely worth a try!

Well, let me start by saying that while the food was tasty enough, there’s a real challenge with the value, particularly with little kids. I had a burger at a base price of $ 6.50 plus $ 1.50 for bacon and cheese, so $ 8…fine. But then a kid burger starts at $ 5, then a small fry is $ 2.60 and both the adult and kids drink are the same despite being half the size of the other at $ 2.30 each. So a kids meal for a drink, a fry, and a burger is $ 10 give or take. A number that I find more than double the competition for a similar if not the exactly same products. I have no problem with the adult pricing, but really, bundle a kids meal together for around $ 5 or you’re pricing parents out too much.

Tree hugger taco Buffalo Caesar taco Mojo fries Don’t leave without trying them! This place is awesome. Love their mojo sauce. Haven’t tried the burgers but they look a little messy. Would recommend getting a couple tacos if it’s your first time. Great service and friendly staff too! A go-to place to grab some grub and chill!

As someone who travels quite a bit i get a taste of all different types of food. I have had tacos before, heck in California I have had gourmet tacos… and Jimmy Hula’s tacos are ridiculously delicious! 1– the environment was awesome, family friendly, great music, awesome bar, outside seating just over all fun and fitting the theme of the restaurant. 2-the hostess.. Was awesome I let her know it was my first time and she gave me great. no awesome suggestions. Ever person there was great all the young ladies were attentive and had a great spirit to them. i would go back just for the service. 3– the food… I am sure I can write you a story of the different flavors and textures that got out of one taco. I had the voodoo the wipe out and the killer … so delicious. The sauces complement the tacos and they packed them pretty good.(I suggest you eat the chips last after you eat the tacos, some of the stuff in the tacos falls out so … you get where I’m going) I am only out here for a week and I will be going back before I head out. I really enjoyed this experience. Complements the to the chefs and the owner! You have a gem here and your staff was cowabunga awesome! !

Diablo burger is VERY good. Juicy, spicy, and the fuego sauce has great flavor. Cajun fries are also seasoned well and the Cajun sauce is like a spicy mayo. I have had a couple different tacos but I always go back to the Diablo burger. It is two patties with cheese, jalapeños, fuego sauce, and shredded lettuce. Burger does not come with any sides so the fries and drinks are separate. Total comes to over 12 $ which can be expensive for a work lunch but for dinner this is an average price.

Been a while since I ate at Jimmy Hula’s. They seem to be thriving, at least lunch hour. Last time I had one of the fish tacos, Malibu. They call it something like sustainable premium whitefish, which is of course code for farmed catfish or tilapia(I’d bet on the latter). This time, I made the uncharacteristic choice of a burger, perhaps subconsciously in remembrance of my Unilocal friend Dale O(R.I.P.). I chose the Hulius, probably on account of the mention of Caesar’s salad. It turns out that they put the double patty, with bacon and cheese, along with BBQ sauce, together with a bed of lettuce in Caesar dressing. Be warned — this baby is tall as the day is long. Get lots of napkins and be prepared to wash your hands both before and after the meal, as you’ll be loving this baby with your hands. I have to say it tasted sinfully good. One thing I hate about JH(not sure if it’s just this location) is that they only have one bathroom each for gents and ladies. With the afore-mentioned need for double ablution with certain food items, this can be a problem. Shouldn’t there be some bathroom ratio that’s required of restaurants before they get a permit?

A quick summary of this review for someone who doesn’t want to read it all: a good burger place, fast service, and good prices(the decoration of the place is a great added bonus). I ordered a California style burger that was served with guacamole and bacon and it was delicious. The burger was cooked to perfection and the service was fast and friendly. The Cajun fries are to die for! My only complaint is that they serve Shock Tops there but they didn’t(or don’t) have oranges, and everyone knows that drinking a shock top without an orange is an early sign of alcoholism. That was my only complaint, but other than that, the food was great. I definitely plan on visiting other locations.

Great fish tacos. Very beachy and street food trucky food. The service was good. Staff kept checking on us and even made me a lime made Arnold Palmer which is not on the menu. Kids meal is a great value and a good amount of food. My kids are food snobs and they couldn’t eat it all at 6&7 years old. Casual environment and very relaxed atmosphere. We will be returning.

New to the area, and my new coworkers brought me here. It was delicious! Never before have 2 tacos been too much food for me to finish. And the flavor combinations, inspired! Love this place!

In the area after visiting Orlando, and since a new one of these is opening up near our home, decided to give this a shot. After reading the reviews on Unilocal, felt we had a good chance of having a tasty meal. And we were correct! All of the reviews we read commented on the friendly staff, and they were on point. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted promptly, given info on the menu(when we said it was our first time), given suggestions as to menu choices, and after being seated, were checked on multiple times by various staff to make sure everything was okay. Lots of friendly faces here. We started with the crack’d corn Shackatizer. Yummy! Crema. chili powder. cotija on a juicy and tender corn cob. One of my favorite ways to eat corn on the cob. Hubby ordered a shrimp po-boy combo with Mojo Fries. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, and the sauce with the Mojo Fries he wanted to dip everything into. Teenager had a burger, and it looked amazing, and the fact she wouldn’t give anyone a taste left us to believe her comments that it was terrific. I had two tacos, one was a crispy fish with Voodoo sauce, and the other was the Johnny Utah, which, if hadn’t been recommended by the staff I would never have even tried. But boy am I glad I did — a taco with smoked pork. bbq sauce. mac n cheese. pickles. bacon. scallion. Probably my favorite taste of the night. Hubby took one bite, and went to order his own! We also had a side of their sweet potato fries — these were good, but everything else was great, so might skip these next time — liked the sweet/spicy sauce that came with them though. For a quick, inexpensive meal, this was spot on, and we can’t wait until the one opens in Orange Park. Hoping it is as good, and the staff as friendly as this one was tonight.

Our first time eating there after hearing so much about this place. It definitely satisfied every taste bud. Something different and tasty, for everyone. Did I mention the great service? Added to my casual dining places to eat. Nomm, Nomm… shall I say more?

This is the first time I have delved into the world of Jimmy Hula and I have to admit that I was very impressed. The menu has a ton of different options and some funky tacos to try. I came here for lunch with the lady but can definitely see this places as an excellent happy hour /sports bar spot. We each got two tacos and they kept getting better and better. I had the pork taco and buffalo chicken caesar taco, she had a fish taco and a chicken sriracha taco as well. They were fresh, flavorful, and two was just the right amount to hit the spot. The vibe in this place is definitely hawaii meets the florida keys and the food fits right in with the ambiance. If you’re looking for a quick snack, some great bar food, or a solid meal definitely check this spot out.

Well Unilocal reviewers nailed it again! What a fantastic burger, atmosphere and staff. Looking for something standard but not run of the mill, saw the Aloha and Burnt Reynolds burgers and knew I had to try them. My burger aficionado dad did the Aloha and I did the Burnt Reynolds. He raved about the Aloha, the Burnt… Well from the first bite to licking my fingers was outstanding. Bacon, fried egg(yes, complete with yolk), bacon, cheese and Lays potato chips all onboard a toasted bun! Burger was juicy and delicious. 2, yes 2, delicious patties fried with crispy edges. This is one I will be making at home very soon. Onion rings were good, not blown away but they tasted like they were fresh and not frozen so that gets points. If you’re looking for food that is seriously amazing with a price that doesn’t empty your pocket, and a very comfortable relaxed atmosphere this is your joint! Nice job Jimmy Hulas, see you next trip!

Down in Orlando and was looking for a fun place to eat with the family. Unilocal pointed me to Jimmy Hula’s. First and foremost, don’t try to find it by the street address. Unilocal does show the correct location but GPS won’t get you there by the street address. It is part of the large strip mall but it faces Lake Mary Blvd. Another Unilocal review stated that this place reminded them of Tijuana Flats. I couldn’t agree more. Similar to T.F., you order up at the counter and they will give you a number and bring the food to the table. So if Tijuana Flats covers Mexican cuisine, I’d say Jimmy Hula’s covers southern California(perhaps Hawaii too). Lots of different taco choices which remind me of So Cal. Also plenty of burger choices too. Each taco is sold solo. I really like this concept. It gave me an opportunity to try several different ones. The Voodoo fish taco was excellent. Definitely would get that again. I had another taco(don’t know the name) with the option of adding avocado. That was a relatively expensive option to a cheap taco. One of my kids had a teriyaki bowl. As you can guess, it is a bowl with rice, choice of meat and veggies. It was pretty tasty according to my daughter. It also had lava sauce which sounds like it would be spicy but it isn’t. Another kid had the Kahuna Burger. Lots of choices to outfit the burger. He loved it. Few other things to cover. They accept credit cards; but not AMEX. Soft drinks are Pepsi products. Lots of beer choices too. The place does have that festive tropical flair that we were looking for. Lots of room on the inside with a variety of seating options. Big bucket seats, surf board tables as well as regular tables should accommodate fairly large groups. They also have some outside seating but tonight was too chilly to take advantage of that. So check out the menu. You can get a couple of excellent tacos and a drink and walk out of there for less that $ 10. That’s a pretty good deal in my books. Best news that I heard… One is coming to JAX on Atlantic Blvd soon!
