This is one of our regular spots Yes it is «fast food» but it’s not really. The food is made to order so it takes a few minutes for your food to arrive, but it is worth the wait. The menu has dinners that are not usual for a fast food place. Dinners like lake cod, or fried chicken. Yes, it is good! So good that my wife insists that we come here for Mothers day.(This was supposed to be kept secret, because you see, they are not crowded on that day and the food is delicious.) If you join their antique car club and come to some of their shows, they will even give you 15% off your bill, every time you visit. I say that is a big deal. So now I have given away another of my «secret» places to eat. Make sure that you ask for your receipt at the cash register, because on it, will be a coupon for $ 1.00 off a pint of their yummy frozen custard. Another little secret, if you’re a cheapskate like me, be sure to fill out the survey on your receipt that comes with your food,(while you are eating), it will get you a free cup or cone of their frozen custard.

Great burgers, and great staff. Now, onto the root beer. What can I say, WOW. I like to call it «rut» beer. Only major flaw was when I had to use the restroom. They were out of toilet tissue, and I had to walk bow-legged out to my ’12 Town and Country. Clean though.

This place has always been one of the stops when we’re craving for great shakes and great burgers. it is such an old school typenof burger place, but the quality of their food is definitely better than the run of the mill mcdonalds. The owner is also a great ambassador of the community and gives back.

Wisconsin dairy! You can’t beat it. Delicious and so creamy. Good recommendation by the son. I don’t usually like fast food or burger places, so we got the chicken burger and ruben, yes with sauerkraut… gotta work on my prebiotics: l, everything was good, but the frozen custard altho they say its not ice cream was so creamy.

Culver’s was having their 7th anniversary, so we just HAD to stop in for $ 1 butter burgers… OMG, it was my first time and they did not disappoint! The place was very crowded but they were quick and efficient and moved the crowds right through… Hubby asked to get some extra so that he could have some in his lunch the next day… heated up like a champ! We will HAVE to return!

This was my first time at a Culvers, we stopped here on the way back to Rochester from Grand Haven. WOW — the hamburgers were really good.(guessing it has a lot of butter due to the«butterburgers» name, but still) Onion rings were also crispy and delicious. I ordered a small custard too(flavor of the day, Oreo Overload) and that was great too. It gets 4 stars instead of 5 from me only because a) the custard was brought out first and thus was melted by the time I finished the burger and onion rings(they told me they would bring it with the meal and I said that was fine, but this was like 5 minutes prior to that). And b) it took like 10 minutes to get the food. I will try out the Madison Heights location closer to me next time. Food was great, though!

Love their frozen custard and recently decided to try eating a meal here. I ordered the potroast sandwich with fries, rootbeer and chocolate frozen custard. My wife ordered a butter burger, cheese curds, and a concrete mixer. All in all the food was pretty good and tasty but a little expensive for what it was. I think our tab was like $ 25 and in comparison we would typically go to the coney for dinner and that costs about $ 10 less. It’s frustrating that they never give you an itemized receipt here because I’m always left scratching my head wondering how it was so expensive. One time my wife ordered their blizzard thing«concrete mixer» and I then said«and I want a chocolate» thinking it was obvious that I wanted a plain chocolate frozen custard. So out came 2 concrete mixers, hers and my chocolate with cocolate mixed in one… it was good but I felt like I paid too much because I ordered wrong. The butter burger was better than the potroast sandwich imho, just had more flavor, but I would choose Culver’s over Arby’s anyday.

I’m going to cut right to it. The food is good, servers are friendly. No issue there. BUT stop hanging the number plates on our door handles and shoving them in our window channel. AND a good way to make your customers drop their bags of food is to hand them a bag with a receipt wrapped around the top so it just slips right out of your hand. Just put the dang receipt in the bag!

I’ve been here several times and it is always good. The staff is friendly and the owners, Joe and his wife, go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The food is good and a reasonable price. Coming here is a good dining experience. They are able to accommodate different sizes of groups and have a little room that you can reserve for your group. I definitely recommend stopping by for lunch or if you are going to the Palace.

This is one of those places I think will be better than they are. Case in point: the burger I got today at lunch. I ordered a mushroom swiss burger plain(which, at $ 5.29 is way overpriced). I don’t mind spending that much on a burger, but for that price, it should at least be good. This wasn’t. I open the box it came in and grease is everywhere. I’m not joking. Bag soaked, box soaked. Take a bite; grease runs out. I am holding the thing and grease is dripping out. I don’t know about you, but I don’t carry a spare bib in my car so I don’t ruin my work clothes, but YMMV. I ended up taking 2 bites and throwing it out as in addition to gushing grease, it was lukewarm in spots. So yeahhh, room temp + copious amounts of grease = in the trash for me. Everything here(except possibly the custard) is salty as hell so keep that in mind. With that said, the soups aren’t bad and the side salad is pretty decent. I’ve had the custard before and it’s alright, if slightly chemical tasting which is to be expected. Staff is friendly and efficient and they do get people in and out of the drive-thru in record time which is a consideration if you’re on a limited lunch time. In short, I have to find better options in this area for those days I crave a burger. Never again with the grease burger.

The staff here is friendly and very helpful. The kitchen is efficient and you never have to wait long. The food is pretty good — from the different burger options to sandwiches(fish, pork, etc). We also like the ice cream and shakes. The flip side — I always feel like I ate something very bad for me.

We love this Culver’s. It’s always very clean and the young people working here are terrific. Owner Joe Zimmer is always here and is very involved in the community. If you haven’t visited. Please do. You’ll love it!

Culvers — a great place for burgers, I agree. Do not order the fish sandwich or the grilled chicken sandwich or you will be disappointed! No flavor! These items are on the menu if you do not feel like a burger. I had thought the items would be very good and flavorful like the burgers, but no way! Worst chicken sandwich I have had in years. If you come here to eat, stick with the burgers, you will not be disappointed. You will be disappointed if you get the alternate items. This review is based on the chicken sandwich.

I was at the Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition at Oakland University and got hungry. I was just there to see what it was all about and not there to compete. So I didn’t know that there was no food or drinks there unless you bring your own. So I jumped in my car and turned on the navigation system. There were a few of the typical fast food places really close by, but I wasn’t up for Mickey D’s or the like, but I didn’t want a sit down meal either, so Culver’s, about 5 miles away, seemed like a great choice. As always, it was fine. I had a double butter-burger with cheese and side of cole slaw. I sat there eating my freshly prepared burger, listening to the ‘50s rock and roll music, thinking about the dichotomy between the Intelligent Unmanned Vehicles and the Little Deuce Coupes on the sound system. Then I went back to the competition and watched as the team from OU remained in first place as their vehicle made it all the way around the course, stayed in between the lines and managed to avoid all the barrels and obstacles. The competition was to go on for a few more hours that Saturday and then on to Sunday and Monday. It was impressive to see these robots designed by students all over the world competing for prizes and fun. Culvers was great too.

Joe Zimmer, the owner, is Awesome! He is all about family and community. Last year we asked for a donation for our dance goodie bags and he handed over 100 custard coupons, no questions and with a smile on his face. A week ago we attended a Dine to Donate event where he gave 10% of the proceeds to our school. He was out there talking with the kids, giving away prizes and making it fun for everyone. Way to go Joe and the crew. Your guys really rock!

Butter burger — decent cheeseburger. Cheese curds — yum! Custard — pretty good! Bleach odor permeating throughout restaurant — not so good. I’m really tempted, yet afraid at the same time, to try the pot roast, fried shrimp, fried chicken, etc.
