We love this little Irish pub! We sat by the fireplace inside and live close enough that we can walk here. Ownership recently changed and they are personable. The staff was very familiar with the history of the place and the menu. The chef is talented and we just let them bring us what they think is the best for the day and were not disappointed. We will be back very soon to try the evening ambiance, live music and the outback fire pits with friends. Octoberfest Soup is on the menu get it! We order it to go as well for the next day. Wish they had this all of the time because I’d probably stop in once a week or more on the way home from work to get it in the winter. Perfect for cool rainy Oregon afternoons! Bavarian bangers– yum! That pretzel is perfect! Best reuben on the lake– for sure! Seafood Mac and cheese– a dinner special the day we were there. Super rich perfect comfort food. They have a dessert… Can’t recall the name of it. Ask it’s their specialty, like a bread pudding kind of dish… Anyway it’s warm, buttery and amazing so save room!

After 7 months away, Chef Billy is back. The food at Maher’s is its best ever! Billy cooks from scratch and from the heart. If you haven’t been here in a while, now is the time to come back!

Like the inside bar area. Is is dark and down to earth. Perfect for a Fekin beer. Outside is great too. Food is simple but really good. Only reason I am not giving 4 or 5 is that every time I have gone our server has forgot to bring our appetizer! Other food came quick. Prices reasonable. Crowd is eclectic.

I emailed Maher’s ahead of time to reserve a table for 15 for my husband’s birthday. The Manager responded within 24 hours letting me know they were more than happy to accommodate us. When we arrived the night of the party I was so pleased to see they gave us their best outdoor tables and even put out reserved signs to make it feel special. The server was attentive and had no problem keeping track of multiple tabs. I wholeheartedly recommend this place!

We visited the pub b/c someone told us that they serve Feckin beer. They do but not the kind my husband likes, which was disappointing. I guess we came during shift change b/c service was really slow. The whole time we were there we were bothered by(I guess) fruit flies. This was very annoying! The guy who took our drink order seemed to be ticked off and wasn’t welcoming. So that was off putting. When our food finally arrived mine was room temp. I ordered the corn beef and cabbage. The corn beef was tough, mash potatoes was lumpy, the brown gravy was good and the cabbage was good except for every few bites it would be too spicy/peppery and again all were room temp. My husband ordered off of the happy hour menu and got a BBQ slider and one sausage slider and the Reuben dip. The Reuben dip was the best thing out of everything we ordered. The sliders were good but really small even for a slider. Another server showed up and she was really nice and attentive. Wished she was there from the start of our visit! On a side note: I think it is really cool of the Pub to have a play set for kids to play on while they wait.

Great ambience on a Friday evening. The 3 musicians were a delight and played a nice mix of Irish music. Well-behaved dogs are allowed on the gravel area which has plenty of tables and chairs when the outside patio is open. They have a pretty extensive menu although we only ordered beverages. $ 8.50 for two hard ciders, very reasonable. The servers were quite busy yet we received our drinks within 5 minutes.

We really used to love this place. We moved in the area about a year ago and it instantly became a favorite. The corned beef, cabbage and calcannon was one of the best I had ever had. But over the corse of the past few months it has slowly been going down for us. They have started grilling, possibly frying, the corned beef, giving it a tough unappealing texture. And last time I ordered it it was so burnt I could barely eat it. They also stopped doing the calcannon and started doing half assed mashed potatoes. And no longer serve cabbage with it according to the server we had. Currently a 2 star place, but still gets 3 stars just because I used to really love this place, and still have hope.

My first ever 1 star review goes to this place. Wow. I’m a pretty easy going diner, and rarely post complaints but had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever experienced. One of the waitstaff came and took drink orders from my group, 8 of us and didn’t write anything down. We were impressed until 20 minutes passed and we hadn’t received a drink or had anybody come to take our food order. I stopped a passing waitress and she gave an apology and took our drink orders again with some appetizer orders again without writing anything down. Another 20 minutes passed and I had to ask the waitress where our drinks and appetizers were, she stopped again and apologized saying they would be right out and took our dinner order this time scribbling things down. One of us asked if he could get a sausage a la carte and she let him know that she would ask. We finally got our drinks and some of them were mixed up and incorrect. Half of us got the drinks we wanted the other half had to wait another 10 mins as she went back and got the order straight. Appetizers never came and about 20 minutes later we got our food — we never mentioned it thinking she probably forgot and we already had food so why bother complaining. The friend that had asked about their sausage ended up being handed a full sausage plate and when he mentioned«I was just hoping for one sausage» She replied«Well you’re getting this.» A bit rude but she acted like she was super busy so we just glazed over the comment. As for the food itself, it was okay? The burgers may have been fresh but tasted like just regular pre-made frozen patties and the corned beef tasted good but was tough in texture. Mashed potatoes were not seasoned. Chicken sandwich was good. The bill finally came and she told us that as she could not split the bill, we would have to split it up for her. Not a problem, we start doing the math and she walks by a little later and laughs at us. Are you serious? How hard is it to write something down from the beginning so that you don’t screw up our order 5 times in one night. We were also charged for our appetizers and the full sausage platter. I told her we were not paying for the sausage platter or the appetizers, i think at this point she could feel our frustration as she didn’t argue, just told us that she understood. Judging from the more recent reviews, this place used to be a gem and has turned into a hole. You’re better off making the trek downtown for the sake of good Irish food and service.

The live music was great. The hour and a half wait for food with no apology or updates was awful. Refilling soda on top of a half glass of melted ice! How hard is it to bring a fresh soda? The food was pretty good but after such a long wait I wonder if the taste was just due to my desperation for food.

We sat down and the server took 20 minutes to get us our drinks. We ordered our food and an appetizer. After an hour our appetizer had not come. We asked about it and he said,“what appetizer did you order?”. I reminded him. After another 20 minutes I said we will cash out please and leave. Miraculously he arrived at our table with our entrees(no appetizer). Our food looked dried up and old. We left… went down the street to Manzana. Got a wonderful meal.

Bluck is all I have to say. Well, not really… We went on an open mic night to see a friend play and I was personally looking very forward to the corned beef and colcannon. Pint of beer was good, but when the food came, we were horrified. The portions were ridiculously small. The corned beef was dry and chewy(maybe yesterdays meat?). My husband had the Bangers and Mash and again, the portions were very small, especially for a man. This isn’t the first visit to Mahers — we have been before and have been disapointed. We vowed LAST time that we weren’t coming back to eat(too expensive for the less than mediocre meal you get) and we broke down and tried again. We won’t be back — unless it’s for a beer. Can’t really screw that up. One more thing — the downstairs room we sat in smelled like the toilet that is nearby. Quite nasty.

The atmosphere is still charming, the staff is still personable. .. but the quality of the food has gone downhill, fast. I won’t go back.

I live in the lake Oswego area and have been here a dozen times. The only issue I have with this place is the service. The people are great and friendly and everything but I find myself waiting a really long time just for a glass of water or silverware even if I’m one of 3 tables occupied. It’s unfortunate because this place has huge potential: it’s cozy, great music, great menu, atmosphere is amazing. Just one of my pet peeves is slow service.

I’m a pretty easy diner. If food is fresh and prepared well I’m happy. We went to Mahers tonight because I wanted a good reuben sandwich. When we queried Unilocal it was number one and as a bonus close to home. The bar is endearingly reminiscent of an Irish Pub. The wait staff friendly. The beer poured beautifully! The food was a huge disappointment. The fries were undercooked and so soggy with grease they were inedible. The reuben was made with very this rye bread that did not hold up to the innards of salty and tasteless corned beef and sauerkraut. We left disappointed by both the Unilocal review and the food. No need to go back, once was plenty.

The staff here is wonderful. Their house microbrew is some of the best I’ve had. I accidentally found myself chatting with the owner and he was so friendly and endearing. They have live music pretty often, too. I love it here.

Been here twice during happy hour and both times was charged full price for my beer. Nice atmosphere though. Do not recommend for happy hour– since you end up paying $ 5 for a beer…

I really enjoyed this place. Lots of choices for drinks(beer and whiskey), easy going, smallish menu but the food is pretty yummy(HIGHLY recommend the Reuben sandwich), and on top of that they also have live music from time to time. The only thing preventing this from getting a 5 star is that it is a little cramped and the bathrooms. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great local Irish bar!

A fun and raucous atmosphere tonight. Listening to Andrew Paul Woodworth sing and play guitar. Food and drinks are yummy! We had a bad natch of fish and chips and our waiter, Jordan, did not hesitate to make it right. I got the Shepard’s Pre — fantastic! I would like to come here for a good beer, or Irish whiskey and a bite to eat anytime! Come here to get your Irish on!(Even if you are not Irish)
