My family and I love Nola’s beignets(try it with jam). There’s parking underneath the building, but it’s a bit cramped, so we usually park nearby and walk there. Nola can get quite crowded, and they often run out of donuts toward the end of the day, so it’s best to come in early.

Went there for the first time, and not going back. Doughnuts were way too greasy, felt more like greasy sponge than doughnuts. When I went, there was nobody, yet staff there didn’t seem to care to sweep the floor that was covered with food and sugar. Worse part of this restaurant-Casher was so disgusting. Had greasy hair with dandruff all over his head, kept touching his hair while serving. He was super nice but I lost my appetite after seeing him doing all that… Then seeing long haired person makings donuts on Instagram… Really. Please tie your hair!!!

Omg!!! The best Cronut ever! Best discovery of the day at the Beaverton Farmers Market. They had these little mocha beignet bombs … Heaven! I could of eaten Their maple glazed donut all day long nonstop!

Came here for beignets and was not disappointed. They’re quite good, available to go, and generous with the powdered sugar! However, I was disappointed in the actual donuts themselves, given that that is the title of the restaurant. They did not look very appetizing, and they seemed to be sold out of quite a few. Plus they were $ 4+, which seems expensive. They sell 3 beignets for 4 $, which is decent. They also sell beignet dippers, but neither of the dipping sauces seemed that great. Mocha-raspberry and blueberry, I think. I will go back for more beignets, but probably won’t be enticed to try the donuts anytime soon.

I drove a bit out of my way just to get an apple fritter and it was totally worth it. I didn’t try the beignets, so I can’t speak to their authenticity, but my doughnut was pretty frickin tasty.

Excellent beignets and the raspberry mocha sauce is killer. Chicory coffee also so yummy.

More greasy than other’s my family has tried. It’s like their doughnuts are a grease sponge. I gave them a second chance and ordered their beignets. They were hollow inside. Screen door’s beignets in Portland are way better, and not hollow! But the worst part of the experience is the male worker with the big pink earrings and hat(which his long hair was hanging out of, Seriously what’s the point of that?!) He kept touching his face while working a food service position! That grosed my bf out! He didn’t want to eat after seeing him do that more than once! The coffee was good tho :-) Maybe it was an off couple of days, idk.

We’ve lived close to New Orleans and sorry but our expectations are of Café Dumonde. If it’s that quality it’s beignets else it’s not. They make a good effort but the beignets are a tad too hollow in the inside and pretty thin. The maple donut was too sweet and just doesn’t stand in comparison to all the donut stores in Portland. Café au lait was very disappointing. The lait was not enough and that made the coffee watery. This place just didn’t do it for me. And.there was a line on a Sunday. maybe because they are in Lake Oswego and not in Portland.

I finally got to come in to Nola today and I am damn happy about it. We came in after a hike…(what a great idea, I know) and there were slim pickings. I had been excited to try the lemon but they had sold out of it so I opted for the raspberry cronut and the vanilla. The total came out to be almost 8 dollars. That’s highway robbery. Just kidding, I think that if the product is good, there’s no such thing as too expensive(I would have been extremely pissed, if it had been bad). Anyways, despite being letdown about the selection choices, I still was excited to try the cronuts. I hadn’t had one in years(last time in LA to be exact). These did not disappoint. They both had nice textures, the vanilla being a little softer of the two but the raspberry jam was perfect. You could see all the individual layers of dough with each bite. Even my girlfriend who doesn’t like sweets enjoyed them. The only reason they didn’t get 5 stars was because of the fact that there was powdered sugar on the floor in multiple spots. Other than that, Nola didn’t disappoint and we know to come earlier in the morning now to ensure top selections.

The Beignet house AKA New Orleans Louisiana Doughnuts or NOLA Doughnut. They are famous for their Beignet that are made right when you order them. Fresh and fantastic. Whoa! This place tiny is getting really popular. So much so that there were no seats left, we had to get take out! Located in busy downtown LO. Parking is underneath the building. They have other kinds of La’ssant doughnuts, apple fritters and CHICORY coffee. Everything we ordered we liked except for the expresso bites. Those did not rock my world, but you might like them. Staff are super friendly and helpful. We really like this place. I think we are going to order again from them soon as a surprise for a friend that is a NOLA transplant. I usually am not a donut fan but those beignets … Hot, fresh, and fantastic are irresistible! YUM!

The good? The doughnuts are wonderfully flavored. They did taste like they might not be that fresh, but the flavor was still good. The bad? The coffee. It tasted and felt like tar. It tasted sour and burnt and so unappealing. I normally drink my coffee black. Today I tried to mellow out the taste by adding cream and sugar but that just made it sooooo much worse. =(It seemed like the cream and the coffee were seperating. =X The service. I asked for a hot chocolate. I was given tar coffee. Once there were no customers in line they gazed off into deep space. A nice«how was everything» or anything I got have been nice, but nope. Oh well. If you want a doughnut, come here. Be prepared to pay a bit extra, but totally worth it. However, please, do yourself a favor and stay away from the coffee. Something is VERYVERYVERY wrong with it.

I came to Nola’s for the first time last weekend. Since we went, my husband and I keep talking about the next time we will be in again. These doughnuts are simply awesome. The best I think I’ve ever had. A great texture, kind of like a croissant and a donut together, so, so, so good. I think these are way better than VooDoo or Blue Star by a big, big difference. Nice shop to eat inside or take them to go. I got the vanilla frosted doughnut and it was amazing. My husband had the donut bites and said the mocha doughnut bite was really good. I wanted to try them all, and I think that will be my new goal for 2016. The parking is a little weird, you go down a ramp and park underneath the building in what looks like an abandoned strip mall of some kind. The parking is right by the Willamette Trolley station. We’ve never had a problem finding a parking spot. Bonus is that parking is free, yay! Another funny thing when we were there, a man and his wife went in and asked if they could just order coffee and read the paper. The people working there seemed confused but said yes, and the staff were very polite and nice to them. It has a vintage feel to it when you go into the shop, it’s cute but nothing fancy but the taste of the doughnuts is worth it for sure.

Here is the kiss of death for any business, the five star review. These are literally, figuratively, and positively, the best donuts I have ever had in my life. Period. They’re not the cake like donuts that we grew up with, instead they are a crispy donut made of layers of dough and sprinkled with a dash of pixie dust for that extra kick. Now, the apple fritter anywhere is my biggest weakness born of childhood memories of eating one as big as my head while my grandfather drank coffee and BS’ed with the waitress in small town Oregon. The sample of apple fritter blew away even that most cherished of memories, firmly seating itself as the king of all donuts every where. And then I ordered the cinnamon walnut one. The server smiled coyly and told me it was a new item based on a baklava recipe. Little did I know what meaning such a simple statement actually meant. Do you remember that episode of the Simpsons where Mr. Burns lured Lenny, Karl and Homer back to Springfield Nuclear with a donut«dough sweetened with Cuban sugar from pre-Batista plantations, and fried in the tallow of three different animals, two of which are now extinct.» This baklava inspired, walnut crusted, honey dripping concoction is about how I imagine Mr. Burn’s donut tasted. As in, for the mere chance I getting one, I would willingly work at a broken down nuclear reactor in a fictional town where everything goes wrong in the most hilarious(until season 18) of ways. Nola Doughnuts, expect to have VooDoo length lines out your door next summer. Locals, get them now before Tourist Season starts on July 5th.

These are the BESTDONUTS I HAVEEVERHAD. Absolutely amazing. Way better than Blue Star or Voodoo or wherever)! The first time I had one, my eyes literally rolled back in my head and my moaned. This seems to be a typical experience as my girlfriends reported the same reactions(). My one complaint is that the shop is so small and we prefer to eat in with our kids but that doesn’t always happen because all the tables and seats are taken. I hope they move to a bigger location but that won’t stop us from coming as often as possible and spreading the word about them. A must visit!

What does it take to get a doughnut here? I’ve been 3 times and still can’t get one. Apparently, they routinely sell out by 11 am, even though they’re open till 4 pm. Once they run out of doughnuts, you can still get a beignet, sold in threesomes. They are excellent. The coffee is pretty good. Given the New Orleans theme, it’s chickory-flavored. The décor is quite nice. Prices are not cheap, but the quality is high.

Melt in your mouth goodness. Came to this donut shop on a Sat. afternoon with my family. They were sold out of all the cronut all but 1 raspberry cronut. This was very delicious with flaky crispy pastry on every bite. You definately have to try this donut shop if your ever in Lake O. Their bengiet are made to order. Delicious and with warm goodness.

Yes, take a short road trip to Lake O for the best doughnuts around. These are unlike any you’ll find in Portland. Luscious, light layers on the inside, crispy exterior, you can’t to wrong with Lemon Poppyseed. Second favorite was the Apple Fritter. Raspberry was delightful too! Parking’s a bit of a challenge unless you know where you’re going, don’t let that deter you.

Think New Orleans flaired doughnuts with a cronut twist! We’ve had Nola Doughnuts at Well & Good Coffee Shop as well as the Tigard Farmer’s Market and we are excited to welcome them to Lake Oswego downtown! They pumped the grand opening with free doughnuts & café au lait & it was hopping with tons of happy customers. The people behind the counter were super nice & they had the drill down pat! We got an apple fritter & vanilla doughnut & café au lait. They don’t have decaf(just half caff) so I headed to Peet’s afterwards for my decaf café au lait. Both were so good! The vanilla was eaten in a 1 block walk by A & I started on my crispy and buttery giant apple fritter. All of them are made with croissant dough so there are tons of laminated buttery layers. I’ll have to try their beignets next time!

«I had sugar all over my fingers and it was amazing!” – my bff. I’m here at the grand opening of the lake oswego location of nola and got a free l’assant. I tried the apple fritter and sticky oat. I was surprised at how much I liked the sticky oat, maybe as much as the maple. My bff got the raspberry lemon and loooved the raspberry jam, but couldn’t taste any lemon. Parking is tricky, it’s hard to see where to turn in. Service is fast and friendly. They gave my friend’s order of beignets to someone else, but quickly got her some. The café au lait was a-ok.
