The mayor of Lake Placid owns the Northway, so you know you’re in good hands! Best price in town and accommodations are clean and convenient to downtown. We walked to everything. Free tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby. Free parking right outside your room is really nice. It’s not the Ritz-Carlton, but it ain’t priced like it either! Quiet, comfortable, clean and priced right. What more could you want? Book a room at the Northway!

I usually stay at Art Devlins in Lake Placid but it was full. So we stayed here and we were very pleased! This is down the block, very clean, very quiet and very affordable. It has a pool which you might not see from the road. Nice ground and you can walk everywhere from here. I would stay here again and I highly recommend it!

Pretty perfect for an affordable motel — great location within walking distance of bars, restaurants and other important stuff, simple but nice and clean rooms, even a small swimming pool. They almost always have rooms, but just be aware that if you arrive after 9pm, the office is likely to be closed.

There’s two types of places to stay in Lake Placid. Very expensive hotels where your going to spend between 150 – 200 a night and motels where you will spend between 50 – 100 a night. When I go to Lake Placid its usually after a couple days in the woods and I just need a warm bed and a hot shower so I rule out the hotels. Having said that most of the motels in Lake Placid make the woods look like a 5 star hotel. Weird smells, insects, and creepiness seems to be the norm. The Northway is the only one I’ve found that is the exception. The rooms are clean and inviting and the owner is very friendly and helpful. There always seems to be open rooms and its very close to restaurants and bars.
