Great Service, Some of the best French Onion soup around. My favorites Ribs and Steak.

We had a reservation and we still waited 45 minutes after our reservation to eat. That would be ok, but they were seating people who got there after us with no reservation. The food was good, I would recommend the captains platter. Price was reasonable. The service was not that great. Refills were slow and the waitress forgot one of our orders.

Man I could eat here every weekend. This place has great service with an outstanding menu that’s isn’t worth an arm and a leg. I usually get the stuffed grouper and it’s amazing! I highly recommend this place!

Only domestic water beers. Super fatty steak, low quality cut. Mash potatoes were kinda bland and gross. Brown gravy from a package. There aren’t many restaurants in this area so I think this place has no competition to keep them from cutting corners. Bartender gal was burping behind the bar as well. They will kick you out when they close at 9 sharp. They will print your ticket and keep asking/pressuring if you’re done when they are ready to leave at close.

Passing through, hungry, checked Unilocal, and chose Sizzling Grill. Glad I did! A clean restaurant with a friendly greeting at door. That friendly service carried on throughout the rest of the staff. There was a decent sized local crowd, which is always a good sign. Service was quick and attentive. A bottomless bowl of salad comes with each entrée, along with fresh rolls and still another side dish. That salad bowl arrived table side with all the ingredients placed upon the bed of lettuce separately. A very nice presentation that the waitress offered to mix. I ordered the prime rib with a loaded baked potato. The steak arrived done perfectly but swimming in au jus, which slopped onto the table as the waitress set it down. I generally like my au jus on the side, but again, no big deal. Horseradish was available in both the creamy and raw variety. The steak was delicious, tender, and with very little waste. The potato was great. The loaded baked potato even had smoked bacon that just increased the yum factor. I had to ask the waitress for a few things, which she was more than happy to grab for me. Although I didn’t partake, Sizzling Grill had a very generous happy hour. Wine pours were into a daiquiri glass, which equated to a double glass. I would definitely return to the Sizzling Grill. They’re a great place to eat with a great, helpful, friendly staff.

We went on a Wednesday evening. We went during the«early bird» time. It was busy and there was a wait for a table so we chose to sit in the bar section. The bartender did a wonderful job even though she was busy with drinks for the entire restaurant. The food was great. I ordered the steak and it was perfect. We will be going back for sure.

Visiting here from Pennsylvania, went here for dinner. I thought it was just another diner. I was so wrong. The salad that they bring out to table in huge stainless steel bowl is delicious and so fresh. I had a 12 oz. sirloin that was also so fresh, for $ 11 bucks! Loved the fried zucchini and their fresh baked rolls are delicious! You need to go there.

Like a Denny’s but with higher prices. It was okay but I wouldn’t go again even if someone else paid.

I am in town on business and after leaving the Italian BBQ restaurant I decided to give it a try even after all the bad reviews. I should of went to McDonalds. I ordered the ribeye and it came to the table all greasy from the onions and canned mushrooms. I am leaving over half on my plate and just want to go back to hotel and throw up.

This place looks like a diner spot(Denny’s, Perkins) not a steakhouse. My hubby and I tried this place for our anniversary, due to the high rating. Hubby ordered the fishermans platter, at which he said it was good. I tried the renegade cooked medium.(which I guess is very hard to do.) It was brought out first time rare, which waitress informed me that is how they cook a medium steak 0_o. So she took it back and had them cook it some more, because when they brought it back it looked perfect, but had a burnt flavor. So I asked waitress for new steak, and she brought out a well done steak with no pink and not burnt. On the good, they have a good salad. I don’t recommend this place, at least not for a steak dinner.

I don’t know know how this place has 4 stars. It’s literally just an advertisement for bulk ordered frozen food. It’s school cafeteria food at it’s maybe, sort of, almost finest… Although, I guess I am more surprised that it has reviews because when I was there, the wife and I had to be the only people who knew how to use a computer. Literally everyone else was about 80 or working there. I digress though, it’s really about the food. I got the seafood platter, in fact I went there to get the seafood platter, and man did it miss the mark. Yes there was tons of food, but it was more like someone went to Costco, bought a frozen box of seafood and just fried it. There was no taste to the food, and the plating was even worse. My food literally came with the individually wrapped Ken’s Steakhouse dipping sauces still in their packaging… sad. If that’s worthy of 4 or 5 stars, I can’t even imagine what the rest of the food in Lake Wales is like!!! Also, the service was terrible, the waitress who had the table behind us was a better waitress to us than the one assigned to our table.

I honestly don’t know why this place got such good reviews. I came in with high hopes and was a bit disappointed. I ordered the patty melt and it was not like any melt I’ve had before(The ones I’m used to have a patty, grilled onions, cheese and thousand island on rye.) I ordered it medium temperature but received a very dry and overdone patty. There was no pink at all. The dish has the word«melt» in it yet I received two hard pieces of Swiss on it that weren’t melted at all. There was no thousand island or any type of sauce on it and it came with mushrooms but no onions. The fries tasted good but they were lukewarm. I was also told that they were not allowed substitute a salad for fries, even though I was willing to pay an upcharge for the substitution. What??? The only thing that deserves five stars is our waitress. I wish I had gotten her name. She was the young sweet blond girl working during lunch hour last Thursday. We were with a rather large group(18 people) and she handled us beautifully with no assistance from her coworkers or management. She kept our glasses filled and kept checking on us to make sure we were ok. The reason the food was lukewarm is probably because she had to bring all 18 dishes out by herself in 4 or 5 shifts. She split up all the checks for us and was very organized. She was great!

Pre-made, frozen food at its finest. My husband an I stopped at this restaurant on our way to Bok Tower Gardens based on reviews from fellow Unilocalers, and I could not disagree with them more. Our meals came with some warm, tasty rolls, but pretty much everything else was disappointing. The salad was drenched in dressing, and my chicken tenders were very obviously frozen, factory made fingers that had just been microwaved or baked. My husband’s seafood platter was not much better. Service was also rather inattentive and slow.

So, there’s not much in Lake Wales for restaurants, so when I’m passing through or meeting my mom halfway between our two homes(on opposite coasts of Florida), this is our go to spot. It’s not fancy or pretentious, but the menu is varied and the food is good. Meals come with a bottomless salad with Ranch, but you can ask for it without. They also have delicious rolls with cinnamon butter that rivals Texas Roadhouse. I enjoy their French Onion Soup, and often get a steak with a baked sweet potato. The pasta dishes are delicious and my son and husband both enjoyed the Mahi Mahi and the salmon. Food was fresh, prompt, and employees are friendly. They do serve a full bar of liquor in addition to wine and beer. Great place to stop if you’re passing through!

What a great spot! My husband and I met our friends that were staying down the street at the Holiday Inn with their Lego Little Lasses. We decided to go ahead and see if it was worth it to meet us there or if we were going to find a better spot to dine. Well, from the moment we stepped in, until the moment we closed the place down — Yes. closed it down — as we hadnt seen our beloved friends in over 16 years, so overstayed the welcome, it was truly the best dining experience of 2014! Coming from Orlando, we’ve many the choice for steak as well as seafood and never you mind friendly bars but hands-down, what a breath of fresh air by way of hospitality. Nicki took great care of us as we bellied up to the high top for excellent mixed drinks, even suggesting a Miami Ice one that pleasantly surprised. She knew her regulars as well as welcomed us as future regulars and between her service, smile and the hostess/owner’s table holding for us, without our party complete, we knew we hit Gold in Lake Whales. Food was good, suggestions by Lauren — also, excellent at what she does as a server and the front of the house rep for Sizzling, great. and again, letting us feel welcome and surrounded by hospitality like you dont see or get much anymore, we will be back, and will tell others. YUM steaks. Thank you for letting us stay longer than you had to and for smiling even as we left the place. :)

My boyfriend and I stopped here while passing through Lake Wales last Friday night. There was a wait for the regular tables, but we were able to grab a high top in the small bar area immediately. We both ordered The Renegade steaks and for a side I got the mixed vegetables and he got the mashed potatoes. We ordered the steaks medium rare, but they were both overcooked, to the point where mine was probably well done. So why am I still giving the restaurant a high review? Because even being overcooked, it was still very tasty. The seasoning was delicious! My vegetables were rather buttery and the salad that you start off with was pretty simple and coated in ranch dressing(they toss it with dressing before serving), but being a southern girl, that’s exactly what I’m used to. :) Overall, the restaurant had a great small town feel, the food was simple but definitely good, and the wait staff was pretty awesome. Oh, and did I mention it was very inexpensive? My steak meal with sautéed mushrooms and onions added to it was around $ 13 and my glass of house wine(which was filled to the brim) was about $ 4. I’d definitely stop by here if I find myself in the area again.

Décor: 3.5÷5 –not exactly what I was expecting, it looks like a Perkins from the outside –booth or table seating for up to 6 adults comfortably Service: 5⁄5 –super friendly, patient and responsive with our endless requests Food: 3.5÷5 –Salad was a bit drenched in dressing but I did like the chopped boiled eggs –Rolls were warm and fresh(unlimited as well) –Grilled shrimp($ 14.95) was seasoned well and you get six on a skewer though it was cooked a bit on the dry side. The fresh mashed potatoes however were excellent and quite addicting.
