Chef Bo’s food is generally excellent. Avoid the Crab Rangoon, which is neither creamy nor crabby. Most other dishes are average or better. The Lo Mein is delicious and not overly oily. The Egg Foo Young is also a favorite.

This is my favorite Asian restaurant. First, the atmosphere is very nice, and the restaurant is very clean. The food is excellent and served in large portions for a very reasonable price. Oh, and the menu selections are numerous. The service is exceptional, and service to me is very important. They continually refilled my drink, which is critical. And, the best thing, I didn’t even have to ask. They were very friendly as well. All around, a great place, and I highly recommend it.

First experience here was great. Food was on point. Mongolian beef was crisp, thin and not fatty. Chicken fried rice was amazing. Soups has so much flavor. I was so happy to actually find a great Chinese restaurant. Think I just got lucky because each time there after was awful.

STAYAWAY!!! This evening we decided to call and order carry-out. I showed up to pick up and the arranged time, no not ready yet. It took over an hour for my food and the people next to me were almost 1 ½ hours. When I finally got it home the sauce was the same on two dishes, one was burnt beyond edible, and the other still had FROZEN broccoli with ice crystals. HORRIBLESERVICE&FOOD.

Our Go to Place for Chinese Food! We have been ordering from here for a few of years. At first I would have said that they were just OK and have given them 3 stars, maybe 3.5. Lately it appears that they have stepped it up with their food quality so for that I am giving them 4 stars. I have tried their Cashew Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Fried Rice, White Rice, Chicken Fried Rice and Crab Rangoon and don’t forget the Fortune Cookies. My favorite right now is the Mongolian Beef. The flavor is wonderful and the beef is super tender. I will get this along with the white rice and I am a happy man, oh ya don’t forget the fortune cookies. We recently picked up and brought a variety of these dishes to my brothers house to share and my mom is now hooked on the Mongolian Beef as well. The Cashew Chicken is also very good. It has a nice sauce and they don’t skimp on the chicken or cashews. The fried rice weather you get it with chicken or not is very good and there is plenty of it to share between two or three people. The fortune cookies have a nice vanilla flavor to them which is typical but my wife and I enjoy them along with reading the fortune. You can dine in or order for pick up which we have done both. I prefer it when my wife picks it up so we can enjoy the meal at home after a long day at work. Last but not least, I do use chopsticks and the ones that they provide are made of decent quality and made of bamboo. Just don’t forget to ask for them.

We got wonderful food and it was ready the second we walked in the door. The phone ordering system that requires a phone number in order for them to acknowledge you as a human is somewhat odd, and they seemed somewhat frustrated that we were ordering food in the first place but a trustworthy local told me to it was great food and to try it. Here’s the thing, 3 stars because, this chinese restaurant actually has scallion pancakes and cold noodles. This is extraordinary for me since you simply can not find that in california and It’s a favorite of mine. The noodles and pancakes honestly could have been better, but it served a large group of hungry holiday people, eager for chinese and we were all satisfied. I think this place has potential to be awesome and with a little better service could be

My friend lives close to the restaurant and has raved about this place and their spicy beef noodle for many times. Finally I got a chance visiting her and she took me to try the noodle at lunch time. Oh the noodle was really good! I could smell the fragrance of the spices when it arrived to the table. Meat was tender, and the broth was so flavorful. It’s spicy which I like. Also great they put Chinese bokchoy and bamboo shoot in the soup. Service was good too. The reason for only 3 star(or 2.5 if I could) — very disappointed with a couple take-out appetizers. We ordered the spicy lover and the five flavor marbled beef for to-go because I trusted their food based on the impression on the noodle and wanted my family to try the dishes they usually like in Chinese restaurants. Kept them in a cooler and then in frig. Opened them at dinner time. The portion was so small. Although the spicy lover tasted good, the marbled beef was not fresh at all and I had to dump it into the trash can. Also, the food there is a bit overpriced, comparing to the other good and similar Chinese restaurants in the burbs like Asian Bistro or Yu’s Mandarin. BTW, read the other reviews… I agree they do use quite a bit MSG in their diahes. I’m not allergic to MSG but very sensitive so I could definitely feel it when and after eating their food. I might go back to try other dishes/entrees if I visit my friend again or am in the area. But maybe not for take-out.

Chef Bo’s is a great Lake Zurich /Deerfield lunch spot and our go-to casual work celebration spot. I was introduced to Chef Bo’s through several of my Chinese –born coworkers. The menu is great and evidently satisfies a taste of home for those who really know and appreciate the Chinese cuisine. No matter the size of the crowd, Chef Bo and the staff manage to serve a great lunch at a good price in less than 30 minutes. The hot and sour soup is one of the best I’ve had and I am slowly working through the menu, though admittedly mostly shrimp, fish and vegetarian dishes. No major disappointments have yet been ordered. Average price for a good lunch with tip is $ 10– a great bargain, indeed. See you soon, Chef Bo!

This is my favorite restaurant in LZ. The food is always fantastic! It’s not your typical greasy Chinese take out crap. I have been dining here for over 14 years, and each time has been great. My mom also loves this place, so any time I get a chance to treat my mom to dinner here, I do not hesitate to do so!

This is the best Chinese food in the area. The chef Bo specials are consistently flavorful — and the fish versions are fantastic. And added to the menu of late … Some of those old fashioned drinks that were on every Chinese menu when I was a kid. We suggested that to them a year or so ago and presto they are there — little umbrellas and all.

We found out about this place while desperately looking for an Asian restaurant around the area. The old waitress being mentioned in some reviews was so very accommodating to our needs as my 3 yr old son was throwing a tantrums. She gave us information about the menu in relation to it’s price. The rest of the staff were very nice too. The food we ordered came out all great, maybe we were just all starving that time

Walked in on a Sunday afternoon. No different impression than any other dine-in Chinese restaurant. Were seated within a couple of minutes. Didn’t appear to be any dedicated servers for dine-in; just the to-go people. Sat and waited five minutes and the to-go guy threw waters onto our table and literally almost ran back to the kitchen. poor guy! He really was working hard. Waited another 5 minutes while three more parties were seated and no one came to take our order. After watching the gnats and house flies circle our table, we decided that the writing was all over the wall. Hungry and frustrated, we booked it out of there and ate burgers. Again. ***So, we never tasted the food therefore the one star is only reflective of our service/no service experience.***

Chef Bo is a legitimate Sichuan chef. He has the typical American Chinese food but his Traditional Chinese/Sichaun dishes rock. I would say many are on Par with stony Hu’s Lao Sichaun but without the long haul into Chinatown. My favorite Chinese restaurant in the burbs.

The waitress attitude is too bad. I called the restaurant to order, the OLD Chinese waitress didn’t wait for me to finish my order, and she hang up on me, said: you order soup who you arrive! Her tone was so high, and very angry. Soo disappointed about this restaurant, and I called back and cancel my order. She said why you order then? I was no comment… I don’t think customer needs to be treated like this. Never go there anymore if the owner still hire his waitress. The food is ok, but the service is very poor. The face and attitude of the boss is disgusting.

Hands down the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life. It was oily, massively salty and made with non-fresh ingredients. We paid $ 40 for a ton of food, took two or three bites and threw all the food in the garbage. Unless you’re looking for your next heart attack, don’t eat here. Its awful.

If you can get past wanting to kiss the owner with your foot, you will enjoy the food. Quality is consistent and you don’t have to wonder if the food will be good this time around. Pricey, but doable. I’m a big fan of the beef chow fun. They always pan fry the noodles perfectly. They pile in the asian veggies. not my thing, I have them ease up on them. Pot stickers are right on, goons are good, orange chicken is a staple for my kids and the wife likes to explore new avenues every order. So far she is on a chicken pad thai kick. Give it a shot, you will most likely enjoy it. Try not to strangle anyone during your visit… I don’t want to have to find a new chinese place.

Came here based on a recommendation, and told to try the Bo Bo Beef. It was 4:00 on a weekday, so the place was empty and my service was prompt and courteous. Since I missed the lunch special, I paid $ 12.95 vs. $ 7.50 for the Bo Bo Beef. I did get a soup and some fried wonton strips, so I can’t complain too much. After tasting the beef, I decided that would definitely be back, as it was a dish I had never experienced before. It was crispy and spicy, with just the right amount of sweet. One of the most unique aspects of this Chinese restaurant is the food presentation… It is clear that there is intent to make sure the appearance is modern vs traditional, and I like it. Prices are moderate to expensive, so come Tue-Fri, 11:30 — 2:30 for the lunch specials… That’s when I’ll be in to explore the vast options on the menu!

For some reason, I’m not impressed with the Chinese Restaurants in Lake County. I guess I got spoiled with the places I used to go to in the city. Any suggestions out there Unilocalers??? ANYWAYS — — –the Green Garden is my favorite in Lake County. Their Chicken Fried rice is the bomb!!! I like their Mongolian Beef & their Vegetarian Egg Rolls. Even though I pick up 90% of the time, I really like dining at the restaurant bec I feel the food is «fresh & warmer» out of the kitchen.
