Hunan Wing

I’ve been there a few times. Sometimes fair sometimes it’s awful. The last time the broccoli was rancid in the beef and broccoli. There is no next time.

Always too busy to deliver to me. They said call after 6:30pm… Called at 7:00 and the man said we are too far away (1.4 miles) Maybe take delivery off of cyber menu as an option!!!

The food is pretty good, but the service is insanely bad. The older woman who works the counter is beyond rude and doesn’t seem to appreciate her customers AT ALL. She’s snarky, rude, and I’ve NEVER been thanked or smiled at. Their lunch portions are very well priced and huge! I love the Kung pao beef, but everything else is meh. I guess it’s not bad for a lake Zurich strip mall place, minus the rude ass owner.

I love picking up food from here! The prices are great, they are super fast, and the food is delicious! Love the egg drop soup, the house special lo mein and crab ragoons are amazing too!!! One of the best Chinese places in the area. Really wish they delivered!

Great tasting egg drop soup, capable egg foo yung, got chow fun, and fish dish very decent. Prices are very fair and they are friendly enough.
They got a great chili oil hot sauce made for Asians. Not like that siracha crap that everyone’s pushing and thinking like hey, I know siracha therefore I’m an Asian foodie…

After several visits, I will never go back. The older woman who usually works there is wretched and rude. Not knowing that this is the only place I have been to that doesn’t take discover, I handed her my discover card, she screeches at me that they don’t take discover, throws the card on the counter and made the ugliest face and shrugged when I said I’d have to go get another card.
I had the shrimp pea pod four times and twice it was okay and twice the shrimp were so mealy I couldn’t eat them. One time the pea pods were spotted brown and stringy and pungent tasting, I finally learned not to order it.

Really wish I could have given this restaurant negative stars. I must say this was the worst Chinese restaurant I’ve ever had. It was so bad that I had a few bites of what we ordered and that’s it. We ordered beef friend rice, sesame chicken and an order of egg rolls. Let’s start off with the beef fried rice. The beef was white and not brown like beef should look when it’s cooked. Two bites and I was done. The sesame chicken was also horrible. The chicken looked black. Had three nuggets and that was all. The egg rolls were also horrible. Not fresh at all tasted like some frozen egg rolls from Jewel. We spent a total of $ 20.00. I will never ever go back to this place. I actually think this place should be shut down. Please stay away from this horrific place by all means.

Yeah it is just ok… Had shrimp with lobster sauce. Vegetables were undercooked and the sauce was salty. Had hot and sour soup… Very bland with little flavor
Want cheap food… Ok
Want good food … Not really.
Probably need to try a few more dishes to find the tasty few dishes.
Ps. Yes it is 3% for credit card, get a clue and don’t be cheap.

I always get the Healthy Shrimp with Vegs. Very good although the vegs could be cooked a little longer. Shrimp are extra large steamed to perfection. Highly recommend this place.

Service was fast but not friendly at all, The broccoli beef was good — chicken dish we ordered was really odd tasting, combo fried rice was dry. Not going back

The prices were reasonable and the food was palatable, but nothing special. We had general Tso’s chicken, pepper steak, pot-​stickers, egg-​rolls, hot and sour soup, The pepper steak and hot and sour soup were particularly bland. I agree with the poster that said the dough on the pot-​stickers was too thick but overall I thought they were one of the better components of our meal. A great value for the price but I would prefer to pay more for something better.

Best chinese food I have had. Very delicious, for a great price! My favorite dish is the general tso’s chicken. The staff there really know what they are doing. The head man there is an authentic chinese chef, and you can tell by the taste of the food, he really is experienced.

Oh my god the food is terrible. We ordered the Pork fried rice and it was very dry, with a SOAP aftertaste. Made me sick. I would never order again. Orange chicken was with dark meat and tasted like it just had a glaze on it. Dough for potstickers was too thick.

Horrible service, dirty kitchen, unfriendly staff, and side mentioned in lunch meal was not given. First and last time going here.

Cheap and delicious food! Their daily lunch special is hard to beat. It’s not gourmet Chinese food by any means but it is perfect for what it is. I use this place pretty regularly for take out with family and we never regret it.
If you’re looking for fancy Chinese, this isn’t the place; if you’re looking for a place to satisfy a Chinese food craving you’ve found it!
I also recommend the egg drop soup! This is oddly the best I have found even at fancier Chinese restaurants!

Good Day, All!..
Well, for the longest time, I did not order from this place. Today, Tuesday, July 30^th, I broke down because I wanted Chinese food but didn’t have enough time to take off to go to my usual place (Yen-​Yen in Buffalo Grove, IL). Plus, Yen-Yen’s closed on Tuesdays.
I ordered the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce with fried rice (lunch portion) for $ 6 something.
My lunch looked like shrimps in egg drop soup with fried rice.
I should’ve taken a picture and shared it with you all.
To me, that’s fake. I know what Shrimp with Lobster Sauce dish looks and taste like.
Needless to say, I will not be back.
I’d rather drive far and get good food than drive or walk to Hunan Wing.

I LOVE this place. I’ve eaten at a lot of Chinese places, and I think Hunan has some of the freshest food out there. I’ve chatted with the owners on many occasions, watched them lovingly hand prepare the spring rolls and crab rangoon, and they could not be more generous people. When I don’t know what I want to eat, Katy always suggests a traditional Chinese meal that’s not on the menu. Her husband Richard will whip it up, and I always go home happy. I agree that you should get the lunch specials — large side of fried or white rice coupled with your choice of a main dish, and it’s super cheap. The soup is extra good, go for the hot and sour. Bottom line, this place is an excellent local establishment with good food, and we should be supporting businesses like theirs in our communities. You’ll be extra lucky if you get to know Katy, Richard and their lovely family.

Hot and Sour Soup was pretty good.
They charge you an extra 3% for using your credit card which annoys me.

Convenient, decent neighborhood place.

Very reasonable prices. Mediocre Chinese food. The vegies seemed fresh. The eggrolls were subpar.
