Three times I have called in an order. All three times I had to wait 20 – 30 minutes after I got there. It does not do any good to call ahead, they wait until you get there before cooking your order. I ordered a large Mongolian beef, everywhere else a smaller carton of rice comes with it, this place gave me a mini rice, I’ve never seen a carton that small from a Chinese place, it was about 1 serving of rice.

Was told 15 minutes for delivery. It took almost an hour. Out of the sampler platter appetizer, only ate one crab Rangoon and a half an egg roll due to zero condiments sent(no mustard, soy sauce, or sweet and sour sauce). Pot stickers were too mushy, and I’m not talking about the filling. Egg drop soup tasted like it was made entirely with sesame oil. Mongolian beef had very little meat. Essentially threw out $ 30 worth of food. Will not order again. I would rather drive to another location than the convenience of delivery.

Didn’t even eat the leftovers. Got the«Free Crab Rangoon» and it was literally ONE Crab Rangoon. It was good, though. Ham squares in the fried rice. The ones from the package. No fortune cookies. Pasta had as much taste as James Franco.

OMG, read reviews before you order! I just ordered food and was shocked by the terrible food. In the past, the food was delicious, but no more. Yuck! Don’t eat there ever!

We loved the original Kong Ming and when I say original I mean the one that we ordered from starting 20+ years ago. The food and service was excellent! Great prices, huge servings and the taste was incredible. When it turned«Express» we ordered once. The food was not the same and customer service was lacking. Once again we tried Kong Ming as we heard it changed hands again. This will be the last time. My husband ordered pepper steak dinner with eggroll and asked for beef fried rice instead of chicken. That was going to be an extra $ 2 charge. Ok fine. I had wanted vegetable lo mein with pan fried noodles but she said couldn’t do it. When I asked about the chow mein she said it doesn’t come with noodles which according to their menu, it does. So I ordered spring rolls. I asked for a menu and she said they didn’t have any but handed me their business card. Not sure how I’m supposed to call for delivery when I have no idea what to order. Ok, so went home to eat and was not impressed. The spring rolls and egg roll were exactly the same! There was no difference in appearance or taste. And they were the tiniest things we’ve ever seen! My husband said the meal was just ok. The rice was tasteless. The beef was good and the vegetables were cooked thru but it’s a good thing we didn’t have anywhere to go. Lots of gastrointestinal issues so use your imagination. We will never eat there again! The only reason I gave it 1 star is because we did receive food and the price was good but I guess you get what you pay for! Back to Jun Ho!

I just had some of the best BBQ pork egg foo yong at the NEW Ming Kong. Totally different and much better than the previous management.

I am sad to see the poor reviews for this restaurant under the previous owners, because their food was excellent. I went there, not knowing they changed owners, and figured they couldn’t be much different. I was wrong. We ordered chicken chop suey, pork fried rice and egg rolls. Basic. We got vegetable fried rice free for ordering a certain dollar amount(can’t remember the amount). The chop suey was mostly vegetables and not a lot of chicken. The fried rice was burned and it killed the entire order of rice. The egg rolls were ok. They were smaller than what I am used to, and the taste was different but not bad. I didn’t try the vegetable fried rice, but my kids did and they liked it. I will not be going back. I will stick to Green Garden and Chef Bo. He knows what he’s doing.

Any review before November should be discarded. Same name, but New Management and better quality menu. The environment inside is totally different. They have added tables and chairs to actually stay and eat, which the last owners did not along with a fresh coat of paint and more lighting makes it more friendly. I assume it is still primarily a «take out» place. Much better service then the previous management. I walked in and ordered and it was ready in about 10 minutes.

Avoid this place at all costs! They were good when they first opened, however, since then they have declined tremendously! I first noticed it when their portion sizes declined by one-third & meats & pea pods were substituted with cheap filler foods, such as onions, carrots, celery, water chestnuts, etc. In a recent order of Mongolian Beef, I was hard pressed to find some beef under all the onion slices. In addition, their lunch/dinner specials are now served with mostly rice. But the most frustrating part of this restaurant is that no one can speak/understand English well. It is almost impossible to place an order over the phone without repeating your order 3 – 4 times. And then, when you get your order home, you can be sure there will be something missing or you received the wrong food item! Good luck trying to have your order corrected because once again, the language barrier prohibits that from happening. In fact, I have had them hang up on me when I’ve called to correct my wrong order & when I’ve called back, they refused to answer the phone! Now, that’s what I call good customer service! I have now gone back to ordering Chinese food from Green Garden again. While their food is more expensive, you can be assured your order will not only be correct, but it will be a good quality & quantity. I guess the saying«You get what you pay for.» is true when it comes to Chinese food at Kong Ming!

We received a menu, and decided to try delivery. The phone was answered right away, and our order was accurate when we received it. All of my questions were answered during my call. Our order arrived 35 minutes later, and all the food was hot. We ordered salt and pepper shrimp(with shells). This was more peppery than we are used to, but tasty and fried/sautéed just right. The Singapore noodles had lots of bbq pork, chicken and shrimp and had a kick to it like I wanted. The best dish for me was the moo shu pork. Not too much cabbage, and with enough pork and other good veggies. It comes with 5 pancakes and hoisin sauce. We had a coupon for free crab Rangoon, and it was crispy and had a good amount of filling. All in all, it exceeded our expectations since we haven’t found a Chinese restaurant that we like in the Lake Zurich area. We typically eat at Chef Ping or Hong Kong Café in the Schaumburg area, but this will work for delivery.

Worst experience ever. Ordered food for delivery and after 2 hrs and 10 phone calls later we canceled the order and ask for refund. They refused to give a refund and we never even tried the food. Don’t waste your time and money at this place.

We tried this restaurant prior to it changing owners, the food before was not great. We tried it today and was told the food would be ready in 25 minutes. We arrived 30 minutes later and stood in line for the next 25 with no one paying any attention to the us and the other people waiting in line, while they continued to answer the phone and take more orders they could not fill. Only when we went to leave did the people behind the counter acknowledge us, we walked out without the food. There won’t be another try after 2 bad experiences.

Are they out of business? Thursday evening, 6:15PM, called 5 times on both lines and no answer.

It doesn’t matter that I gave this 4 stars. The food was good, but the place is evidently now closed. Phone number disconnected.

Nice place to have dinner with the family. You should choose take out cause there isn’t much to the place but it has good food. I always order the shrimp chow mein.

I get carry out from here and it’s always been good. Moo shu is really good! The prices are reasonable, too. But there are new owners now and they don’t carry Moo Shu. :(But everything else is good.

You know how financial advice about stretching your dollar always seems to include«save money by not eating out»? Well, I think they might need to change that to «save money by getting takeout from Kong Ming Express instead of trying to cook for yourself.» My family of four ate two full meals and two of us also had lunch from one $ 35 takeout order from here. Typically, I do not sing the praises of large portion sizes. In many cases, restaurants make up for lack of quality with lots of quantity, but this was both yummy and bounteous. Our favorites from our order included the Beef with String Bean and the Broccoli with Spicy Garlic Sauce(spicy!). The Singapore Noodles were also pretty good, and our youngest ate up the(free with $ 35 order!) Orange Chicken. We’d order any of those again. We’ll skip the Vegetable Lo Mein next time just to have the opportunity to find another home run. Also — veggie egg rolls were not the best. We’ll try a different side next time. Overall, good stuff!

Good food & very cheap — Chinese takeout at its best!
