Love the Food and Atmosphere! A great place to unwind and enjoy the evening with friends. I wish it were closer, I would go more often.

I want to like this place. It has a cool atmosphere. You can eat al fresco and they have a band. However, tonight we waited an hour for our food. As in we ordered then waited an hour before our food showed up. Then when it did arrive, my vegetables were missing. Our waiter’s response was, «oh there should be some parsley there.» I assume they ran out but didn’t want to own up to that. Our waiter was not attentive at all. We asked 2 different servers for water after our beers, never received any. Our server even commented, «oh you never got any water» but then did not get us any. We wouldn’t see him for huge chunks of time and never to ask if we were ok. The service is horrible! And there were no apologies from anyone nor did anyone seem to care about the poor service. The food was satisfactory but not for the price and the headache of the poor service. I want to like this place and go back but I just can’t.

First let me say, this is not our first visit. The food is interesting and good, but it’s not all about the food. A successful restaurant has to deliver on all fronts. The owner /owners are often present and do not appear to have any organizational skills. We’ve been here before and the service has been adequate though food delivery seems to take a long time. Tonight we ordered a pizza and it’s been over an hour and a half. Our waiter was as attentive as he could be under the circumstances. We’ve frequented patio 850 for the past few years and have watched the business outgrow the owners and management. Do not mistake this review as a complainer, I prefer local establishments but they’ve lost their way. The need a bigger kitchen and kitchen staff, perhaps a true managing chef would be a good hire. The server apologized and mentioned the kitchen was too small and they were disorganized.

Well all of you that had bad reviews all I can say is good riddance because it helps us to get a table a little quicker and if you like an amazing ambiance with trees lit with white lights and umbrellas and canopy tents and amazing bacon popcorn and flatbreads and beers and wines and lovely live jazz music then this is your place and yes you generally have to wait for a table so just step on up to the bar inside and relax and get yourself a drink and don’t worry and be happy!!!

I’ll start off with the good. The escargot is the most abundant in portion that I’ve ever had. I’ve eaten at the best french restaurants in Florida, had the passable to worst escargot at EPCOT, but this had the most escargot and it was pretty good. Not particularly a fan of the«chips» or whatever that was but it certainly didnt take away from the escargot. They had Widmer which I havent had in years. Our group can make the best out of the bad and still have a good time. I dont credit this to Patio850 or the management; but our night certainly had a looming cloud of «sour» because of our experience. They were pretty pleased with their meal, and said that they’ve had just as bad service from there in the past. The wait staff is very likely what keeps this place afloat. Now the bad is the rest of the experience. I dont have anything nice to say about the host on Friday night. Our friends were celebrating a job relocation and called ahead for a 7pm reservation. There was a line of about 8 people waiting to walk up to him and give their names or check in. Unfortunately, some dickhead didnt get a lesson in common courtesy and walked passed the line and the host seated him. We were all skipped in line. When I told the host that every one was skipped and he sat that person, the host’s dim bulb response with a shrug and«whups, nothing I can do» «what do you want me to do?» wasn’t acceptable. Not only was that irritating, but that was ALSO the last available table for quite some time. So we were told that we could go to the bar and wait. The bar room was full of empty tables for a «reserved event» for basketball. We walked into the bar and I told two people our issues with having reservations but were skipped in line and seated. They both were tending the bar and one seemed empathetic to what happened to us(the actual bartender). We had our beers, but decided the dimwit that was hosting the table may over look us again decided to go out and stay in his line of sight. So I reintroduced our group to the host and said«We’re over there. Let us know when our table is ready.» Now this is the part that I’ve never in all of my life as a customer had to do: as the host was seating us I told him to send over the manager. I’ve had shitty service. I’ve had shitty food. But I’ve never in my entire life had complete complacency to either of those things when I bring up a very real problem to the staff when they actually commit a totally preventable screw up. The manager came up. Now, the manager I was talking to about the host seating someone that skipped the line was ATTHEBAR. She showed no empathy for what happened to our group then. She didnt say«I am the owner.» Nothing. I was under the impression she was a bartender there and she just didnt care(which at the time was completely fine because being a barback at one time; even if it were out of my hands I’d have offered to send the manager over to them; but I’ve seen the same attitude from other bartenders from the time I worked as a barback) Now, I was totally blown aback that his person that I’d just spoken to about our problem was standing in front of us. Frankly, when she came up to our table I asked her if she really was the manager. Here’s also the rub. We never actually heard«I’m sorry.» We heard about how she used to cater for Disney, run all kinds of businesses from all over Florida, how people are assholes, how people are stupid, but never once«I’m sorry that this was allowed to happen and I’ll speak with the host about it.» Not once«You know what? I’ll fix it.» Just ego stroking, and bad mouthing the jerk that skipped us. Our waiter asked us what time our reservation was(nearing 830 before we were sat), and our waiter showed concern over how we were treated, and our waiter said«You all have a round of drinks on the house.» So we STILL aren’t entirely sure that was up to the manager or not. This is the thing about Lakeland that this person needs to take to heart. Lakeland is not a shit hole because it doesnt have many restaurants that have a layer of classiness or trendiness to them. Lakeland is a shithole because it HAS restaurants that BELIEVE they have a layer of classiness or trendiness to them come along and DON’T. Hint: Class is NOT in the consumable of what you serve. A place like this in Orlando wouldnt last a year. They should be fortunate that this town WANTS something like that, and unfortunately most people in this town are willing to deal with this kind of piss poor service and complacent mediocrity. This was our first time at Patio850; but speaking for myself and my girlfriend; it is also our last. FUN little update, my review from November was removed today for«falling outside of content guidelines» What I figure that pertained to was removed in this one I’m posting today. Given that I see recent negative comment, and mine was a scathingly honest review, I wonder how long this one will stay up. Shame on this place.

Ate there last evening with my husband. The food was great and we enjoyed the atmosphere and music. Server was helpful and friendly. Had cheese tray then filet.

I’ve given this place a fair shot. I really have. Been here 4⁄5 times as I live a couple blocks away so I can walk there. Service: terrible. Food. It’s just okay. It’s actually overhyped really. Reading the menu you think«wow that sounds amazing» but often times the food is bland, and in general over cooked. Location — great. Tonight I ordered some beers and a flat bread pizza. After 90 minutes the pizza still hadn’t arrived and we hadn’t seen our server for nearly an hour. He only had two tables at the time. We were watching. Instead of apologizing for not being attentive and forgetting to put our order in his response was«for future reference don’t order flatbreads. We only have one oven so it takes a long time» Not even an «I’m sorry I haven’t been by in a hour, not I’m sorry I never wrote down anything the whole time and sorry I haven’t been by all night» Instead it was my fault for ordering flatbread. The irony is two tables that sat down after us got pizzas. He obviously just forgot. This isn’t the first time this has happened. All in all. Shitty service, sub-par food. Stay away.

Good but not consistent. Service is nice but slow. A great place for wine and snacks.

I’m in the business of creating outdoor living spaces, and this place is on point! Service was excellent and the food… Oh my. The food was so good. The only bad thing about this place is deciding on an entrée. It’s on the top of my list for Lakeland dining for sure.

This is a sweet spot with a great vibe. Service was great and the menu was different and ecclectic. I had the Organic Blu Salad. The dressing was special. Could have used a tich more cheese and walnuts. My husband had the pulled pork wrap. Real pulled pork, not chopped, and lots of it. Sauce was tasty. Can’t wait to go back to try some of the other menu items. Bonus was extensive craft beer menu from local breweries.

On St. Patty’s day the corned beef & cabbage couldn’t be served until two hours &15 minutes after they opened. It as very good after waiting an hour. The owners son is loud & vexing. I would prefer him to talk about stabbing fish heads in a quite voice so I didn’t have to hear about it! It took a long time for a server to come to my table. Server never checked back after delivering food.

Worst service ever!!! I gave it one star because the Mahi Mahi is outstanding, but that’s it. It took us an hour and a half just to get an appetizer that was poorly made. Never got our salad. Never got our waters. Everything was an issue. The manager let us have a glass of wine for our wait and trouble with the order. I used to support Patio 850 because the food is good, but the service is horrible. They have only one oven, which is what we were told… Worse treatment from a waiter and manager ever. Several tables around us left also and ask us if we were treated as they were, which we were. It’s embarrassing Patio 850. Get it together because you have definitely lost at least 9 of us tonight

The only reason I am giving Patio8502 stars is because of the outdoor seating. We sat inside at the bar and waiting 30MINUTES to get acknowledged, when there were servers and bartenders all around. The bartender didn’t even acknowledge us until we were getting up to leave and then asked if we wanted anything… We had to wait an additional 30 minutes after that to get a glass of wine. We were hungry but did not want to stay to eat. We asked for the manager and he/she(we never saw the manager) to express our concerns. Will not return to this establishment, which is a shame seeing as how we live in the Lake Morton Historic District.

We’ve been meaning to try this place out since it was called ‘red door’ or something else vague and hipster. I guess my expectations were off. I was told it was a wine bar/outdoor patio venue. The hostess and servers looked at our group like we were dirt. I’m sorry? You’re a «fancy» dining establishment? You have feral cats running around and middle aged moms getting high a the back tables. Food and drinks were overpriced. And when they got several beer orders wrong the server tried to argue that«she didn’t know much about beer, but the bartender assures her that’s the right one». Service left a lot to be desired. Maybe we’ll go back when it changes hands again and becomes a wine bar/outdoor patio venue

Last year I came across this lil place and fell in love. My husband and I had our wedding reception there. All of our guest loved their food.(the pizza and flat breads are amazing) so last night one year later we went back to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. They still have it going on. The food was great the atmosphere was great, they had a live band. Lisa is amazing(she is the lady of the day) she helps her servers and staff when needed as well as checking on guest and there needs. This place is a delight. Can’t wait for the next date night

We love the food. It’s great to sit outside and hear great music. We called ahead, informed them of our family needs and when we arrived, despite knowing we had s baby, had no seating to accommodate. To drive 40 minutes and experience this was disappointing. Time & again we love the food and feel the service is slow and lacking forethought. Maybe next time.

Ridiculously slow service. You need patience to eat here. Ambience is nice and the wine is good. Literally asked twice for water in a 45 minute time period and never got it. There was only one other person at the bar and they didn’t acknowledge is for at least 10 – 15 minutes upon our arrival to the bar. We asked to be put on the seating lost to sit in the patio area and he said 10 minutes we sat inside for 50 before we decided to leave and when we walked out there were 10 – 15 open tables and we were never notified. It was sad, the place looked so beautiful and promising!

Patio 850 is a nice place to relax, have a drink and a grab a bite to eat. They serve a nice selection of wine and craft beers and have an intriguing food menu. I tried the Escargot and the Braised Short Ribs. The escargot was flavorful, tender, and moist and the ribs were tender and covered in a succulent and lightly sweet barbecue sauce. Overall this is great place to visit.

I’ve never been to Lakeland before, and my colleague’s friend suggested we go to Patio850. The garden atmosphere is perfect. The server, Jackelin, strongly encouraged us to try their infamous Bacon Popcorn. As one of my dinner companions said, it was like eating loaded baked potosi– the popcorn had chives, cheese, and bacon. Very addicting. I ordered the Shrimp with corn cakes. It was different from any shrimp dish I’ve ever had– served with maple sauce. It was very good. The others ordered the dish special and loved it. I also enjoyed the Pear Me Knot martini.
