I purchased solar panels from this company during the summer of 2013. I would not recommend doing business with any version of this company(A/C Solar, 1 – 800 Solar, etc.). Every step except the initial signup has been very painful, largely because they have such poor communications practices. Once they had my first payment, they ignored my messages and questions until I was at the point where I included every person in the company on all my emails. They provided incorrect information about Xcel credits when I signed the contract, though they did try to compensate by lowering the system price a bit. It took about five months to get the panels on the roof and another four to get them connected to Xcel, which we finally had to arrange on our own. The system was faulty, though to their credit, they did replace part of the system — after I threatened to sue them. The new system is still faulty, and I have to reset the breaker every single morning to get all the panels to function properly. Their maintenance contractor, Sunny Side Up, is a little better to deal with, but their response to my complaints about not all panels booting up in the morning was that the panels were producing«plenty of power.» True, 39 panels should produce a lot, but they would produce more if all of them functioned properly. If I wanted less power, I would have purchased fewer panels. When they asked me to write a letter for them, I was very kind to them, largely because I wanted my rebate, and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. However, they repaid me by shorting my rebate check by about $ 1500. When I asked about the shortage, they said they would look into it, but I have heard nothing for the last two months despite my reminder. I’ve been remarkably patient with them, but this is the last straw. Save yourself money and headaches — do not do business with them.
