I live very close and went for dinner a few years back. The food & service was so bad I waited years to give it another try. I gave it another try recently and it was just as bad. My Mexican food was served cold, the taste was terrible. My girlfriend had the same experience. It must stay in business as a local or after work watering hole, I just won’t go back. Too bad, great location. I don’t understand why a business wouldn’t change their food after years of bad reviews and less than 2 stars.

Ordered food for carry out and paid with my card. Signed the receipt total for $ 26.50 and checked my card this morning and they had charged $ 31.50. Apparently they think its okay to add on an extra $ 5 thinking I won’t notice. Also our sandwiches sucked. We won’t be going back. I would rate this place zero stars if I could.

Awesome food here. The chicken fried chicken is about the best. Good homemade food place. Mix of American, Mexican, and great breakfast choices.

My sister & I have driven all the way from Aurora to eat here! We love the food & the service. We always order Mexican & have not been disappointed. Only wish this place was closer to where we live. Highly recommend!

Yuppie fare, it’s not. Upscale, in no way. Old-school greasy-spoon café? Yup, and I mean that in the very best way! This is a great place for a traditional breakfast… eggs, home fries, sausage, bacon, you know the kind. The pancakes are truly outstanding, and the coffee is hot and dark. Or if you want a humble lunch item like a tuna melt, you won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been here twice now. There menu is quite amazing, however the fries and burger were very undercooked. The only good thing is the deep fried Ice Cream.,

Breakfast burrito here was very dry, not that desirable when you want to have a good breakfast. That breakfast very bad for me because it was my first time here. Service was also not that good, not satisfied by it. A no no for me when it comes to breakfast.

I love their breakfast and I think its perfect for weekends since they serve breakfast till 2 pm, however I went there on Saturday the 7th of September around noon, it was not crowded at all, I walked in and was not greeted by anyone, so I walked into the bar area where there were three people standing around talking, I assumed one was the bartender, one the cook and the other a possible dishwasher. They all looked at me and not one of them said hi or greeted me in any manner at all, I than saw a waitress on the patio, there was only one table with people out there and it was a beautiful day so decided to sit and relax before I went to work and enjoy some breakfast on the patio. I said hi to the waitress and she proceeded to go inside, I saw her talking to some other people in the building and she took her sweet time coming back out with a menu, I was really hoping that she would just be pleasant and let me enjoy my morning. It took nearly 5 minutes before she came back out. Finally she came out with a menu, I told her I already knew what I wanted, she took my order than went over to the ONE dirty table and proceeded to clean it. She didn’t just grab dishes and go inside, she stood there first reading something on the table, than she started picking up garbage, crumpling papers and seriously was at this table another good 4 to 5 minutes. Instead of attending to the ONE customer on the whole patio area, she decided she was going to clean. At this point I was infuriated, there is no excuse for this, she ignored me for the first 5 minutes than proceeded to ignore me and my order for another 5 minutes, never even got me a my ice tea to pacify me while I was waiting. Anyways, customer service sucked. Sorry, I love the owner and I liked there breakfasts but one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch. I will not go back to Café Del Sol.

Wouldn’t go here again. Very average food and it seemed like they were blending Mexican and Greek food??? Also, atmosphere had something to be desired.

Came here a couple of times in high school. Never really impressed. Generic Mexican food: bland and uninspiring.

as you can see from the other reviews, they had a good run in 2011 with good food and friendly service but since then… pffffttt… we had a group gathering for 10 there last sunday and made a reservation a week ahead. when we arrived, they seemed unprepared and the waitress was PISSED we got put in her section and made no secret of it to us and all the other customers and seemed completely overwhelmed with four whole tables. it was either her first day waiting or she’s just extremely grumpy/unorganized and it went downhill from there. our coffee cups(which we got ourselves) were dirty, water glasses had things floating in them, the bathroom was dirty and smelly and the food was either bland or very salty and inedible. trying to pay our bill seemed to be more complicated than the national debt(partly due to errors on the bill and partly due to an archaeic cash register from 1974. we will NOT be holding any future meetings at this restaurant. run, don’t walk, away from this place!

Dumpy little Mexican place off 6th& Garrison. Honestly, Taco Bell is 5 star compared to this place. I ordered a small combo plate and the taco was tasteless and the shell was stale. I sent it back only to receive another taco that was tasteless with a slightly less stale shell. The upside, service is quick.

God, this place is awful. I’d rather eat their garbage out of the dumpster than order off the menu. Same quality without the RIDICULOUS prices.

Help: I have been accosted by nine thousand septuagenarians in walkers, a few of which have wandering eyes, which is weird, and all of whom were gumming store bought bag-salads with fervor, or else outside chain smoking non-filtered cigarettes and watching the great sights on 6th Avenue. Here’s the deal: the prices are way too high for what can only be called food aspiring to be barely mediocre. The best thing I can say about this place is that the bartender was great and service was timely and welcoming. It’s hard to screw up a vodka tonic or a bottled beer, so they’ve got that going for them, which is nice. I want this place to serve way better food because it’s convenient for me and I could go there and sit at the bar and drink all night long and not have to worry about a DUI. But the reality is that I don’t know if I can consistently bring myself to pay that kind of money for that kind of fare and not hate myself for it, This place needs resuscitation — STAT.

Today was breakfast with the family day. I used to go to Café Del Sol when I was much, much younger, and had very pleasant memories of the place. Unfortunately, this morning’s breakfast was a far cry from the nice memories of my childhood. The breakfast menu is fairly small(which is not, in itself a problem), but also fairly overpriced. I ordered Eggs Florentine which were actually pretty good, but at about $ 9 I would say it was a couple bucks more than what you would find at most similar restaurants in town. Around the table it seemed that everybody enjoyed their food. However, and for me this is a big however, there were a number of problems with the service. Our server began fairly strong, friendly, and keeping our coffee cups filled. However, as breakfast was winding down our server dropped off the check and then completely disappeared. Well, I should rephrase that. Rather than simply disappearing, she actually stood in a small nook just on the other side of a small divider and ate her own breakfast. While we were sitting at our table, wishing for a coffee warm-up, wishing that our server would pick up our payments so that we could leave, we actually just got to watch our server eat breakfast, and then disappear for about ten minutes with a cup of iced coffee. I like to think that I am fairly patient with servers when a restaurant is really busy and the servers are working really hard. On the other hand, though, particularly when a restaurant is nearly empty, I have very little patience for laziness, and I never have patience for restaurant staff eating in front of me. Surely there is a better place to do that. All in all, the odds are not particularly good that I will be returning to Café Del Sol. Slightly overpriced food and poor service are not a great way to get returning customers.

I’ve never wanted to draft a poor review so quickly as I do about this place. Worst service and sub par food… truly shameful. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Edible food. That’s about the best thing I can say. Spanish rice was soupy mush. Beans tasted stale and out of the can bland. Burrito was a joke, about the size of a churro. Average age of the patrons was 70+ years old. This is a retirement hangout.

This place is a mexican, american & greek restaurant. It’s so good. Started with the chips & salsa, good. Then had the cream of turkey soup, SOSOGOOD!!! Also my boyfriend loves gyros & I’ve tried a few he’s had. So far he hasn’t found any in Denver that he really liked & I haven’t tried any of his that I liked. He got a gyro &OMG!!! Now I get why people love gyros. It was so good & the portions were reasonable. I would definitely say go here & I can’t wait to go for breakfast soon!

I shouldn’t like this place: It’s in a strip mall off 6th Avenue and the waitstaff is a little rough around the edges. But I do like it, and here’s why… Remember when it was fun to go to Denny’s or Perkins for a good greasy breakfast? Fluffy eggs, toast, yummmmmy hash browns, sausage links… I tried a Perkins not too long ago and almost gagged the food was so greasy and tasteless(and I felt sick the rest of the day). Café del Sol is that perfect greasy spoon — only it’s not really all that greasy. They have tasty breakfasts and they’re reasonably priced. The waitresses remind me a bit of Flo(from the show Alice) and may need to be reminded that you asked for ketchup(extra napkins, more water, etc.), but overall — pretty satisfying. Another reviewer mentioned that this place is great for a hangover — YES — it’s exactly that kind of place. You can pretty much look like you rolled out of bed — no one will give you a second look here.
