Brandon (I guess that’s his name) showed up at my house on the day and time that he said he would and went straight to work. He explained what was wrong with my a/​c and fixed the issue asap. He then went on the check the rest of my system and explained all that he did. He was courteous and friendly and very professional the whole time he was here.
So far my a/​c has been purring like a kitten and that’s all thanks to Brandon (I think that was his name).

My wife and I moved into a Mid-​century Modern Cliff May and wanted to have the 70 year old furnace replaced as well as upgrade to some A/​C for those few hot days in Long Beach. We have a lot of pride and love for our home, not to mention over a million dollars invested! So, needless to say, I am going to be a really picky prick when it comes to choosing someone to work on stuff. I had several quotes from other places as well as from a few of the big box stores, but no one wanted to listen to our very specific needs. We wanted to keep the home aesthetically pleasing on the inside due to the open ceiling plan. No one wanted to listen and only knew their way of doing things. One guy was going to put up a whole bunch of plywood and wouldn’t even entertain anything I asked about or suggested. Yeah, not gonna happen…
Brandon was like a breath of fresh air! (Sorry for the bad pun) Straight out the gate, Brandon was honest, attentive, and just an amazing person! It was like talking with a close friend that cares. He listened to all of our needs and custom built a duct system that worked PERFECTLY. His recommendation for our furnace and blower was spot on. The A/​C unit is whisper quiet.
Total install time was about 3 days. He even rushed because my wife was having a baby shower, and he totally finished ahead of time and before the event. JUST AWESOME! The old gargantuan heater was removed, the whole new system installed, the duct-​work was custom fit, wired the electrical, and even painted the cover boxes on the side of the house to match the paint. Truly exceptional work! Most of the hard work was done by Brandon’s brother in law and partner who is also just an amazing and stand-​up guy.
Price: OK, so most of the folks are wondering, HOW MUCH? Well, I am going to kind of skirt the issue here. Because of the varying nature of each home, cost and price can vary. So, you will need to schedule time for him to come in and give you an estimate. There are just too many factors for me to arbitrarily throw out what I paid and it will do YOU, the reader, no good. I will say this, I went to the big box stores, the De-​pots, and the Clubs; For me, Brandon ‘s quote was more than half the cost.
One thing to note. My system was installed in the early spring. As the summer gets hot and people go «Oh crap, I want A/​C!», many contractors, Brandon included, get tons of work. So you may find his schedule is full. Plan ahead and try to catch these guys in the off season, or when other sweaty people aren’t thinking A/​C :)

Needed help troubleshooting a problem with my heater. Brandon Donahue came same day, was curtoeus and professional and had the problem diagnosed and solved within 30 minutes. Reasonably priced, dependable service. I would highly recommend Donahue Heating and Air!

Brandon and his employee were on time, clean, friendly and finished when promised. I was actually sick and home one day when they were working and they were so nice and thoughtful. We had our AC go out a few days ago. I could not trouble shoot it, so we called Donahue Heating and AC. He was able to come out on very short notice to find out what was wrong. He needed an additional part and was at our home the next morning to install it. Once installed, he thoroughly checked to make sure everything was working correctly before he packed up.
He was extremely professional, friendly and communicated everything that was being done. He even took the time to help me come up with options on how to increase the air flow upstairs.
He was even very friendly with my curious 5 and 7 year olds that wanted to watch.

Background: We live in a 1700 Sq. Ft. home built in the 50’s in the Long Beach area. The Central AC unit was installed around 1988.

Our central heating and air went down last week during the 103 degree weather.
We used DONAHUE HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING. We had an appointment in a timely manner.
We have used them once before for just a maintenance check. At that time he told us what need immediate attention, what should be done but could wait and what we should consider in improvements.
This time he came out for an actual repair. He diagnosed the problem, had the parts with him and fixed it in the same visit.
They are a locally based family business out of Lakewood. Brandon is super polite, extremely knowledgable and VERY HONEST. If you are looking for a repair, a check up or even a brand new unit, please give this company a shot.

These guys awesome. They responded to our request in a timely manner, diagnosed the problem, went to great lengths to find the replacement part, and returned within days to do the repair. Not only was our technician professional but he was friendly and charming as well. I would highly recommend Donahue Heating & Air Conditioning and will put the word out to anyone I know in the area.

If I could give Donahue 50 stars instead of just 5 I would! Brandon and Darren made everything go so smoothly I couldn’t be happier. Seriously… could NOT be happier!!!
Brandon (the owner) came out to give me an estimate on a new central air and heat system for an old 1936 built house. Since he was also the installer, I could trust that what he said would get done WOULD GET DONE because he was there the entire time. Other companies flat out told me they couldn’t do the job at all because of the small crawl space.
He quoted me 4 – 5 days to complete the job and finished in 4 days. He was punctual every day. His communication was excellent and he gave me a progress report at the end of every day (or as often as I asked). They cleaned up as they went so there was little to no mess in the house or in the yard. They were completely professional in every way.
If you want quality work and honest pricing from a really good guy, call Brandon Donahue. I can’t imagine any company doing it any better. THANK YOU!

Did not mean to have this post twice. Brandon did finally come back and adjusted the vents for us and was very nice and efficient.
Brandon and Donahue Heating started out as a five star with us for the installation of our heater. We now rate Brandon and Donahue Heating as a one star for lack of promised follow-​up and communication. Upon having a heater installed, bought and paid for, Brandon stated that if we needed any vent adjustments made He would take care of it. We have tried to have Brandon come out to make adjustments for over two months. 3 times he stated (on the times he responded to our requests) He would either be here or send someone. To date no show and no communication to us. Too bad as we are now looking into purchasing an Air Conditioner. Would have used Donahue Heating but not now.

I hired Brandon to install forced air and heat in my home back in 2003. Brandon was extremely knowledgeable, professional, reliable, and honest. I can call him with any questions at anytime. They offer a maintenance service as well that keeps everything working perfectly as the day it was installed… and after 9 years I have never had any problems or issues.

Brandon has got to be one of the most honest business men there are! Very professional and reliable. These days it’s hard to find good contractors that aren’t out there to *bleep* you. I never hesitate to trust his advice if we need work done on our heating.

We had an ER heating issue and called Donahue. They had been recommended to us by a neighbor. They came out THAT day and worked tirelessly to finish so we could have heat (it’s the winter). He was COMPLETELY professional, answered all our questions, and just seems to be an all around nice guy. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Donahue to everyone we know! Reasonably priced also.
