Just left the location at 12th and Federal in Denver CO. I was asked to wait immediately upon approaching the drive-thru speaker despite it appearing slow(there were no other cars in the drive-thru, about two parked, and this visit was around 3pm between lunch and dinner rush). I waited longer than usual before the worker asked for my order which was one combo meal with chili cheese fries and then the drink I wanted. After receiving and checking my order, I was given plain fries instead. I reversed, waited for someone to come back to the window and finally when the same worker came back I informed her that I had asked for chili cheese fries instead. She apologized saying she didn’t know and charged me for the difference. She also said I could keep the plain fries since I already had them with me. Then another lady came over with the chili cheese fries and asked me for the other fries back. I was pretty stunned considering they messed up and wanted a food item back that they don’t know if I had touched or eaten from(I didn’t but still…). And not only that, when I gave her back the bag to correct the order, she stuck her hand in without a glove on, took the plain fries out, and then handed the bag back to me. When you as the company make a mistake, you fix it and/or try to make it up to the customer. That wasn’t the way to do it. Won’t be back.

This place isn’t as bad as people say. A double chili cheese burger might be a part of my last meal. Definitely my favorite guilty pleasure. This is a good location too. The food is always hot and fresh. There is always interesting characters at any Hamburger Stand. Always entertaining.

Ordered 2 hamburgers to go and they were cold by the time I got back to my office(3 minute drive). Wanted to charge $ 0.25 for extra pickles on each. I do not think I will go back!

Curse Google for not being up-to-date! The map lied and told me this place was a Wienerschnitzel. It looked like a Wienerschnitzel, smelled like a Wienerschnitzel, and even though the Hamburger Stand sign advertised Wienerschnitzel in tiny print, it clearly wasn’t a Wienerschnitzel. Rather than driving all over town in search of another hot dog stand, we went ahead and pulled up to the drive-thru. We heard some crackling and a buzz followed by an «I’ll be right with you,» but five minutes later we were still waiting to order. Finally, we got so frustrated that we parked and walked inside of the restaurant. Talk about a terrible mistake! The foyer was uncomfortably packed(ten people squeezed into a space meant for four at most), not to mention unbearably hot. The staff was cranky and borderline rude. We couldn’t wait to get out of there! On the plus side, the chili cheese dog wasn’t too bad. It could have used more chili, but what do you expect from a place that poses as a Wienerschnitzel and turns out to be a fraud?

I had a coupon for a Chili Cheese Dog, and fries. Came to 1.49. It was Merely Ok. The hamburgers are merely ok as well. Id say a step above Mcdonalds because these are actually cooked on a grill. The fries had the right amount of salt and were ok as well. So this was just an A-OK experience. But the Ice Cream from Tastee Freeze is good. Not Dairy Queen Good but just good.

Quality control is the real issue here. A few years ago I watched a guy smear mayo from a dixie cup on my burger with his index finger. Just today I figured I’d give them another try because they are so close and supposedly under new management. I watched(who I assumed to be the manager) drop the tongs on the floor then pick them up and continue using them without washing them first. Food isn’t that great, and definitely not worth risking getting sick over.

An option if you are looking for a cheap and fast burger. The quality is inconsistent and sometimes the customer service is a case of the inmates running the asylum, but the price is right and the food is filling.

2012 Review #273: I feel like these places have a cult following. Some friends wanted to go here, and all I could think was«why are we driving out of our way for fast food?» Anyway, these places look like throwbacks but they’re as designed as the next fast food place; they’re mostly A-frames, they’re related to Tastee Freez, and they sell mostly burgers and dogs in combo packs. You can get something like a 12 dog, 12 burger pack with fries for around $ 12, so, that’s quite the deal. Prices are pretty low; we split a #1, which is 2 cheeseburgers with a «big fry» and small drink. The burgers don’t come with any actual vegetables unless you order deluxe, in which case the burger comes drenched in mayonnaise. I really hate it when places charge a lot more for lettuce and tomato, which they ahve to cut up for hte day anyway and therefore cannot reuse, and change the other toppings. Just make it an option! Anyway, the burger tasted exactly, exactly like McDonalds. Again– why did we drive all the way here? Down to the minced onion and 2 pickles per burger. The fries, which are not big by any stretch of the imagination, were not soggy, not crispy, but… dense. Seasoned well but sort of weird. By far the best thing here is the Tastee Freez ice cream. My husband got a dipped cone, which was under $ 1.50 and the chocolate dip was pretty much the best tasting I’ve ever had. It tasted a lot like a very thin, melted Hershey bar. I’d come back for that in a heartbeat, but skip the burger unless you really want McDonald’s without going to the McDonald’s across the street.

Okay, so, I’d seen these Hamburger Stands scattered around the Denver area for years now… and I love me a good dive-y cheeseburger.(Especially after 10pm. Late Night Cheeseburger! Noms!) Anyhoooo, Although I’d seen and made note of The Hamburger Stand, I’d never made it in, even among all my Burger Travels. So when my fast-food hating man suggested and spoke highly of this place(memories from his childhood) I couldn’t turn down the opportunity. I was a bit put-off when we drove up(in the dark at 10:30pm) by the Sketch Quality of this joint, but I am a girl who LOVES me a dive(and adventure.) So, I went for it. One Late-Night Cheeseburger, Please. Less than a buck fifty, to boot. I was SO pleasantly surprised! The bun was soft and somewhat sweet, maybe a potato roll? The beef was not greasy(at ALL), and topped with Ketchup, Mustard, Teeny Chopped Onions, and Pickles. Definitely a throwback to the burgers of my childhood, and a good one. The man had a bite and confirmed it tasted just as he remembered. I don’t always shun the grease, in fact, sometimes I LIKE a little«Burger Juice» on my patties, but this one somehow left me feeling just a LITTLE bit less guilty about my Late Night Indulgence. So, I’ll definitely come back for another one, and probably try those Hot Dogs out, too.

LOVETHISPLACE! It is a simple hot dog and hamburger stand style place with outside seating! Super inexpensive pricing and friendly staff! Who can ask for more? I love«divey» style food joints and if you do too, especially the fast«divey» styles, this is right for you! Check it out!

I love this place. The food is reasonably priced, tastes good, and doesn’t have that feel of overly processed meat like that place down the road from it with the arches. Also, they serve Tastee Freeze ice cream, have root beer floats, and you can get a MFn corndog. You can have fair food every day of your life if you want. Whoo, it’s no wonder I am putting on weight, I love corn dogs and I love this place.

Not many hamburger stands still around. The one I used to visit closed down and became a deltaco. I have started going to this one which is a little farther than the old one. It is a great place to go if you are looking for fast food from an earlier time. For the price it is hard to beat. Grab some chili dogs, some burgers, and some fries and you are ready to feed a group of people. The chilidogs are pretty good. Burgers are also pretty good. Fries could use some help but hey it is fast food and its cheap.

The Hamburger Stand feels like a throwback to an earlier time period — it has a Drive Thru and a small Walk in counter for ordering. Your typical fast food options — a variety of burgers, dogs, french fries and such. I ordered their Chili Cheese dog — with onions and jalapenos. The jalapenos were the pickled variety — would have preferred fresh ones. Still, a pretty good Chili dog and it hit the spot. Next time I will try out one of their burgers…
