There is nothing else I can say about this place other than I have yet to find another restaurant with as much dedication to the taste and presentation of their food quite like OSJ does. I’d never had Puerto Rican food before but my wife was always a huge fan of mofongo and just had to come here when I came across the menu from a friend. Everything on the menu is a hit with people I know that have eaten here but personally the paella is the winner.

The food was amazing!!! We had the lomo Saltado and the churassco. I’ve been to Puerto Rico before and that’s as close as it can get! We had a hard time finding the restaurant as its tucked in a corner and kind of small. It’s very clean inside and the staff is very friendly, wish it wAs bigger so we could host larger parties! The food however was amazing! The strawberry frape wAs good too. Portion size was good for the price! We spent about 56 dollars for two steak entrees with sides an appetizer and a drink. Definitely will be back!

My 1st time here was horrible!!! Food took forever to get to our table. Then appetizers was served after the main course. And to top if off, I found a strand of hair under the rice halfway through my meal. Who knows how much hair was in it because I mixed my beans with me the rice. So I’m not sure if there was more than that one strand. The manager made it look like I was lying and I put it there but I have brown hair and it was a black strand and when obviously I didn’t finish my food. I do not recommend this place for anyone.

Being a New Yorican. This place is awesome. Great food and a lot better than the previous location. I definitely will hit this place when my wife and I don’t want to cook. It’s a great after church service place to eat with family.

The food is very tasty. My only complaints are that some of the food on the menu are only for certain days and it is very pricey! Im from NYC and Puerto Rican so these prices for me for this same food was a bit ridiculous. I’ve also never heard of a choppy menu that is partly served through out the week. Honestly, i will only be eating my Puerto Rican cuisine when i go back home to NYC. They also have times where they shut down for«large parties». Their schedule and prices are a turn off. Until they start reevaluating how much customer service they’ve turned away and FIXIT, i WILLNOT return to OSJ… please fix it!

ThAnk you for giving me a little piece for home !! The food taste exactly how it should!!! Made in Puerto Rico !!! This is a place where you mouth is going to experiment with texture and different flavors. Now how I say Puerto Rican food is about flavor if you looking for space food this is not your places because this is not a bland Mexican restaurant… You should try the arroz con pollo !!! Is like a Puerto Rican grandma with make it !!! Oh and also try the coco Rico is a puerto rico soda made with coconut

Finally had the roast pork on Saturday. I did take out because service at OSJ is not that great. Back to the roast pork. Easily the best roast pork in the Seattle greater metropolitan area. 5 stars for the roast pork. The rice with gandules were good but not great. Almost no gandules in each serving. Also, the recipe for rice needs to be adjusted to be more authentic. Alcapurrias were tasty as well. As soon as the rice with gandules are adjusted, you will deserve 5 stars.

EXPENSIVE!!! food is very tasty and is arranged in very pretty arrangements. However the stuffed yucca dishes and other fried foods are greasy. Place is very upscale. I’m a cheapo, so I can’t get over the prices. So for that I will not be going back. I recommend coming here if you have the extra money and want some good tasty authentic Puerto Rican food.

Arriving on a Sunday 40 minutes after they were supposed to be open the doors were locked. I should have turned around and left then. My girlfriend caught the attention of someone through a window and within a minute we were let in. The music was loud. Good music but loud and festive. The dining room was an elegant contrast to the humble appearance outside and yet the music seemed to contradict the dining room’s atmosphere that was almost romantic. Well, as romantic as a table can be with plastic flowers. RIght after we ordered our own entrée and appetizers two other tables we seated. One of our appetizers arrived without the sauce. The waiter came and apologized that our other appetizer went to another table. He went to get our sauce but not before taking a minutes to talk with an adult visitor and hold a baby before disappearing into the kitchen. It’s impossible to know if after having his hand wrapped around a baby’s(clothed) bottom if he washed his hands. Maybe not a big deal but either way our service was delayed by a visitor. Entrees for one of the other two tables were served before we got the replacement appetizer delivered«accidentally» to the wrong table. The people at both of the other tables were also served entrees before us. Both tables were Latin looking folks(we are not) and we felt slighted for their apparent preferential service. The appetizers were oily and underwhelming in flavor. Heavy. Our appetites were almost gone before the entrees arrived. The beans tasted like they were from a can. The yucca fries were nothing special … just ok. The center piece of my dish was shrimp that was just boiled shrimp with no distinctive seasoning or presentation. My girlfriend’s beef dish was good but just«good»; I had a taste of it and have had better at a Cracker Barrel. The fried plantain tasted like it was reheated and was unappealing. Nearly $ 50, a regrettable tip and two headaches later we left feeling better that we were not in this place any longer. I have no doubt this place will sustain itself from the limited community that prefers how OSJ does things but the wider audience should avoid this place. If you like exploring a wider palate of food beyond chain restaurants, save your money and make another choice. Better yet, stay home and reheat something from the fridge — you’ll be better off. Seriously.

My first reaction was ‘wow’, impressive décor. It was clean, shiny, and warm at the same time. The gold leaf in the wine glass was a nice touch. The food was rich with terrific flavors. Some might think too salty, but it was perfect to me. The shrimps in the paella were not peeled, so the sharp shells made it hard to enjoy. My disappointment was with their rice dishes and yucca fries. Why were they so dry and tough? Yes, a certain degree of al dente is to be expected with the rice, so I will leave people to judge for themselves. Put this on your list of places to try.
