My favorite Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food in town. The beef and chicken kabobs are as good as it gets and the rice and hummus are also very tasty. Highly recommended!!!

It’s a hit or miss here. Sometimes they are great sometimes it’s not so good. Today wasn’t so good. My rotisserie chicken was very dry and salty and my falafel had no flavor. We tend to order from her once and a while because my husband likes the chix kabob and hummus. I do like their tzatiki. Really good and garlic sauce is delicious. I just wish they were more consistent.

Mediocre. I had to wait for quite some time to be acknowledged. The dining area desperately needed attention which limited seating options. The food was ok, but lacking in flavor. The pita and tzatziki were the only good thing in my meal. I’ll try it again if craving and location coincide… Otherwise I’ll stick with AV Kabob

Yummiest Chicken Kabob plate! Not overly greasy, and it comes with salad, hummus and rice. Best Chicken in AV.

Great food all around. I’ve been going here for years and it’s always been consistent. The owner is the sweetest lady ever and always strives for a good experience. I used to be an AV Kabob customer but the service is frustrating. Since I’ve tried A1 I’ve never went back to AV. Great place!!!

Great food! I number 28 and the lady that served me was very nice. A little bit of a wait but it’s worth it because they are making your food fresh. The price was a little expensive it only came with a sandwich I wish that it would have at least included some fries but I can get over it since the food was so good ;)

I decided to try this place since I’m a huge fan of Mediterranean food. I saw this place when I was driving around town and decided to give it a shot. I ordered the chicken kabob and it was delicious. It was pretty moist and not dry. However, I did not really like the salad it came with. The dressing was bland imo. The hummus was awesome. The employees were pretty helpful with my order. Verdict: I only need 3 things in life: 1. Mediterranean Food 2. WiFi 3. Sleep

Rude!!! Walked in to order. Completely ignored me and took the person behind me order. Walked out and I will never go back.

Being such a finicky food snob can make for one hard to impress customer… But I seriously just had the best kabob I’ve had in years! We tried the garlic chicken plate and the combo plate… both or all of the meats were authentic and delish! When you’re done with your plate make sure you get a piece of the homemade baklava… it’s the best you’ll find in this valley! Thank you Miriam for the amazing meal and Sam for wearing a great smile and the A1 shirt(we wouldn’t have found you without ‘em!) See you soon!!!

this place is always hitting the spot for me! very great middle eastern food, closest to authentic you can get. i say that because i’m middle eastern and my mom’s cooking is pretty comparable. takes about 7 minutes to get your plate cooked, but at least it’s fresh! highly recommend to anybody that’s in the area and wanting some real middle eastern food.

I gave A1 another try with a to go order and it turned out much better. Everything was fresh and cooked well. It was ready when I arrived, and it tasted good. They even asked over the phone how I would like the steak cooked which has been rare in my experience with kabob restaurants. I would consider going here more often now.

Delicious food, friendly staff I always get the #4 and LOVE it If you like garlic, get extra garlic spread. If you don’t like garlic, ask for extra anyway and give it to me!

Ordered take out. Lady repeated our order correctly. Got it home and one item was missing completely. One plate we didn’t order was included called the lady and she said we got what we ordered. No we did not. No offer to help us or make it right. EXTREMELYPOORCUSTOMERSERVICEOUTWEIGHSTHEFOOD. NEVERAGAIN.

Great little locally owned place with delicious chicken kabobs and rice. Whenever I’ve gone its been mostly empty with just a few ladies working behind the counter. Its pretty hot inside and the furniture is reminescent of an old Mcdonalds or donut store. Thats probably why most people seem to get their food to go. The service is friendly and while the shop feels more like a store front than a restaurant, the food is good. Their baklava is especially tasty, it is moist and sweet, better than most I’ve had. If you are looking to beat the long lines at the busy Pollo Loco across the street, try A1 Kabob for lunch or dinner instead.

Basic facilities with very fresh food. The restaurant is frugally supplied and adorned. I was the only person there, so I am not sure if that had an impact, but I received my to-go order swiftly. The food was good, and all of the vegetables in the small side salad were very fresh. I will be back!

After sunset at Antelop valley, we wanted to have quick dinner and this was the best we could search. But it turned out great :) Ambiance: Very small family-style restaurant. TV was showing some Arabic(I guess) musical show. It was funny. Food: Falafel wrap was good. Very big, we couldn’t finish it. Price: Very affordable May not be the best Mediterranean in town, but its good enough for quick stop.

I really wanted to like this place. Yes, the wait is long as many other reviews say, but that’s typical for this type of food so I’m OK with that.(For reference, I was there at 11:30am on a Tuesday and it took about 20 minutes for my food to come out) BUT, the food isn’t as «fresh» and many other reviewers say. Nor is it good at all. I ordered the beef sharwarma plate and a side of falafels. First off, the sharwarma they use is made from the LOWEST grade beef. So much gristle/cartilage which I can overlook but it was also bland and not tasty at all! I watched as they pulled a pre-cooked batch from their refrigerator, take a scoop and put on the grill to REHEAT. Putting it on a grill to reheat does not make it «fresh.» Might as well have popped it in the microwave. The portion size was also very small, less than a cupful of sharwarma when you order the large order. The plate was ¾ rice. And the rice was bland. Even the salad… it looked like it had a lot of dressing, but it tasted watered down. Really??? So many chances to make the meal at least somewhat good, but I was disappointed with every bite. The hummus was so-so. Sabra prepackaged hummus tastes better. Now on to the falafels. That was cooked to order so you can consider it «fresh.» I watched as they pull another container out of the refrigerator(AFTER they had already plated the sharwarma, rice, salad, and hummus and placed on the counter mind you) and ball up falafel. Each falafel was large, but true to A1 Kabob fashion, NOT good! The falafel was very dry and fell apart just picking it up. The flavor was just lacking completely. All in all, I say avoid this place. With so many food options on my plate, one of them had to be good, but they failed on all counts. I’m not one to waste food ATALL, at the very least, I try and salvage it by taking it home and mixing it with other ingredients, etc. But with this, I threw it away. No point taking it home as it was beyond fixing. Go to Olives on the Blvd instead. Food is MUCH better, more delicious, and they won’t give you drama if you ask for garlic sauce or tzatziki on the side.

Seriously disappointing. This place is close to my house and I really, really wanted to like it. Unfortunately, the food is mediocre and the service is appallingly bad. The last time I went, and I mean that in both senses of the word, I waited almost 40 minutes for take-out. Each time I inquired about the status of my order, I got nothing but attitude. Like«I told you 15 minutes ago it was going to be another 10 minutes. Chill, dude.» And I was the only person there. It’s a shame because I love Mediterranean food and this place would be extremely convenient. It’d be quicker and easier to raise my own lamb. 4H here I come!
