New owners are extremely rude, it’s turning into Bens liquor store… Liquor, cigarettes, scratch ticket machine… I always feel like they are staring at me… I feel sorry for the people that have to work with these a-holes… I am disappointed in what this store is turning into, I will not recommend this place no longer… I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a slurpee machine next week with a 7 – 11 sign following short after. Concept of this store being a fresh healthy food store went shooting out the window as you can buy cigarettes… Everything for the dollar. I hope this place fails with the new owners. Ps degrading Women that work for you is not a good business plan… Calling young ladies the b word won’t get you far.

Reading the reviews, I was under the impression that this place was closed and I did not venture to check out the place. Husband told me that the place still looked open when he drove by. I finally went by today and I was able to buy meat with my container(minus waste) which was FANTASTIC. I also bought some fruits and vegetables. Too bad the bulk items are packaged in plastic and styrofoam. Since I’m trying to go zero waste, I would not be buying bulk items from there. Overall, I still consider it a find for Palmdale/Lancaster area.

Went here Sunday at 3pm to get sliced meats & cheese. I was refused service, because they were closing at 4pm! I live 100 miles away… I was not happy.

Won’t be back. New owners are rude and as I walked around I was not greeted or even asked if I needed help like it use to be. The end of great place in the AV.

Love this place! Every time I shop there I get great service and prices. Plus I love supporting local businesses! This was a family business that was sold to some other business man. Hope it stays the same and the beer still stays cold and taste as good as it use to!!!

I love this place… my one stop for everything. I am so sad… BEN’S CORNERWASSOLDANDWILLBENOMOREIN30DAYS. The butcher shop, Ben’s Butcher Block, will relocate. They do not know where, but they will be keeping the same phone number — 661−948−4745 — call them to find out where their new location will be. Bad business practice on the owners not giving their employees and renters a heads up — you have 30 days then get out. I thought they were a family… I guess business is just business.

A friend of mine told me about this place, so I decided to check it out. I am always fearful of buying fresh meats from the standard grocery store because there are so many frequent recalls on the brands they carry. I bought a few fresh herbs, frozen fish, and some chicken best from their meat counter. The two gentlemen that helped me were extremely friendly and helpful. They made recommendations on cuts, and told me about their Wednesday store specials. The chicken I bought was fresh, and very tender. I’ve made the switch, and I will buy my chicken nowhere else in the valley! :)

Great Resource Fresh meats, deli and amazing selection of produce. If you are looking for an actual butcher… this is the place to go.

This is an amazing place! It’s one of the few places in the AV that I know of where you can buy raw peanuts in the shell… Yes, goobers in the shell :-) Today they had some beautiful-looking strawberries that would tempt anybody. They have a very unusual selection of things also and I have to slap myself and keep walking by the candy section when I saw licorice. This is nothing like today’s big supermarket, but sometimes you just need to visit a place like Ben’s Corner to get a taste of simpler times and have a little journey of discovery. I wish they had more organic stuff available for sale, sigh, but it is still sort of fun!

Great produce and meats at good prices. No, it isn’t organic. No, it isn’t your typical grocery store. No, it isn’t always local. I come here every week and the produce is always fresh. Fabulous selection of apples. If there’s a better butcher in Lancaster/Palmdale I haven’t found it in 29 years. I order my(Shelton) Thanksgiving turkey here every year and am never disappointed. I love their jalapeño sausage, but I have to cut it half and half with plain to get the heat where I can stand it.

I love this store. Been coming here since I was a kid. Lots of fresh vegetables, and occasionally some organic. The fruits and vegetables are much fresher than anything else in the valley. This is probably because they try to get as local as possible. The butcher block is the best butcher in the antelope Valley, bar none. They are helpful, and have a very good selection of fresh meats. This is the only place I buy a whole chicken anymore. They even have prime ribeye! The only reasons I haven’t given it five stars: 1) They need more organic produce. 2) They close too early; I have to rush after work. Would be great if they closed at seven stead of six. 3) I wish they carried grass-fed beef.

I have been coming here for the past 20 years. They have a great deli/meat section and a wide selection of fresh produce. I like shopping at a small store rather than the the chain stores such as Albertsons and Vons. It is conveniently located right off the freeway and close to Costco. The leanest ground beef is probably what keeps me coming back the most. The staff is always friendly and the checkers are usually highschool or recently graduated students. I would recommend Ben’s as a good alternative to your large chain stores.

My family insists I have been here before but I don’t recall. I must have been just a kid. I am glad to know about Ben’s Corner now. I just wish I knew about it when I still lived in California. It is a good little shop. Their butcher counter has a good selection of quality meats and for a perfectly reasonable price. I was at Ben’s to buy some top sirloin to fix for my family last weekend. They had some great looking beef of various cuts. For the price and taste, I went with two big sirloins cut in thirds to feed four of us(the rest went into the freezer for later). It was a perfect steak when cooked. It was tender. Not fork tender but sirloins aren’t meant to be. This was tender as only a quality cut of sirloin can be. The kind of tender that seems to melt in your mouth but still let you know you are eating a steak. The taste was almost sweet. I like to use limited seasoning to allow the natural flavor of the cow shine through. This was some of the freshest tasting cow I’ve had in a while. I don’t know where Ben’s sources their beef from but it is far better than any large chain grocery store. And why stop and meats? Ben’s has some produce selections too. I saw some basic fruits and veggies. There were berries, nuts, seeds and popcorn too. I didn’t get a chance to check out much of that but what I did see looked good. I can tell you that ypu have to buy your meats and produce separate from one another. Apparently they are different stores within the same building. I hope to come back next time I am in Lancaster and get some more goods at this almost hidden gem.
