Lakeside Anchor Inn

We went in for lunch. Reasonable prices, good service. Ate at the Tiki Bar. We’ll go back and try dinner. Very much a locals place, which I love!

Went here by boat for the first time with friends. The place has potential but lacks service. We ordered drinks and an appetizer at the outside bar. Drinks were good, but our appetizer took nearly an hour to come. When it did, it was cold. The waitress was very nice and took it off the bill. The waitress noticed it while she was bringing it out. She should have not brought it and told the cook to make a new one FAST! Oh well. Maybe someday the new owner will put a paver patio out by the dock with tables so people can sit out there and enjoy the nice weather. It’s a perfect location if someone would just realize its potential. It could be a happening place!

Love this place! Always a great atmosphere, good drinks and good food, plus you’re right on the lake. Can’t go wrong here.

Just ok. Had fish tacos and tuna app. Mahi in tacos was fresh but the other ingredients were bland. Tuna app was good. Atmosphere was ok, but party seated near us was a little loud which is not an issue but one guest kept dropping the «F» bomb which makes dinner uncomfortable.

Horrible slow service, young inexperienced waiters are very rude and don’t make you feel welcomed. My first visit will be my last.

Fun atmosphere with good food and drinks. Makes me feel like I’m out of town. Wish i could feel like that e everyday.

I always wanted to stop here and am glad I did. I came here with friends after a day of kayaking on Lake Osborne. It was simply outstanding with good food and good service. The owner and service staff were very friendly and accommodating and made us feel very welcome. I love the outdoor dining under the large thatched roof. I had the Greek salad with tuna added. I’ll be back again!

Went here to see a band play and to check out a new spot. Sounded like it was a cool place based on the website, tiki bars are always fun. I had a nice time hanging out and listening to the sets. Ordered some drinks and had dinner. I don’t regret going.
Ordered the fish dip appetizer which was really tasty. Then had the Maui tacos for the main course. Good, quality ingredients but completely flavorless. Said it had a soy ginger dressing but I couldn’t taste it. I was disappointed. Also everything on the food menu was very pricey, more money than I would normally pay but I did anyway because hey, I was having a good time right? Just had beer and that was reasonable.
There is a design flaw in the female bathroom, could be very embarrassing if your in there with someone you don’t know. I found it amusing but it is really a poorly planned design, they should fix it.
Inside looked old and musty, I wouldn’t sit in there for any reason. Outside is much better. I might go again to have a couple drinks but that’s about it.

This was our first time there with my family and people out of state. we sat inside right behind the bar at a table with four adults and 3 kids. The service was good and the food was also. but one of the owners proceeds to tell the two eight year old boys that hasn’t seen each other in a long time that they need to be quiet… I’m sorry are they not 8 and sitting behind the bar and next to the room that has loud music playing… I don’t know what kind of business the owner is running. i know there’s two older mean that are the owners and this one does not have glasses is grumpy. I heard but my understanding he throws out people all the time .Said to say I won’t be back and we’ll tell others about his Poor demeanor! Not like it seems to already be known and hurting business. Great place !!! Food was great & great atmosphere to just sit back & have drinks & enjoy the view of lake. Think I found my new hangout!

Really great atmosphere especially in the outside tiki bar! Service and food are good but I have a feeling that will improve with time! Good drink specials and a great spot to meet friends for drinks!

Extremely overpriced. Service is very very slow. Make SURE you keep track of your drink totals. They add all kinds of drinks and food to your bill. Has happened 3 times already and I believe it is intentional. Nice atmosphere but crowded. On an added note I also crapped myself from the food. Had to leave my underpants in the waste basket… Stay clear of this shit hole. They are thieves…
Update: This dump is going downhill quickly. Has gotten very dirty and attracts scumbags. They will be out of business soon.

Great, relaxed feeling place to have a nice dinner, or just hang out with a group of friends at the bar.
It’s recently reopened and is more casual of an establishment than it used to be. It’s one that you should definitely check out.

This was our first visit to the anchor in since the new owners took over. We live in the neighborhood and were anxious to check it out.
We found the crabcakes to be excellent and the trout was good as well. Was a little disappointed in the lobster bisque as there was no lobster in it. This place has a lot of potential but they need to work a little on their waitstaff. Our waitress Ashley was superb. However we were seated next to the wait station when most of the dining room was empty and had to hear all the drama of the other waitstaff during our dinner. There was a little mixup on my dinner and I was pleased that they handled it very quickly and efficiently. Will come back and try again.

Been here nine straight days, no need to visit another bar. Wait staff is incredible (Ashley, Leanne…). Owners (Doug, Bernie, and Bob) are way down to earth, talked to me and hung out with me each day. Not afraid to dig in either. Leaving tomorrow and will miss it much, but there is always October! Food is insane! French Toast for Sunday Brunch just the right amount of everything, sweet, moist, crunchy, name it, OUTSTANDING!

The outside Tiki bar/​hut is really nice. The view would be better if there was not a parking lot in your way but the lake view is still beautiful. The drinks are standard. No complaints there. The food was very very overpriced for what you get. We ordered bacon wrapped scallops and calamari appetizers. The scallops were $ 12 and came with 2 (almost) half dollar sized scallops with a bunch of lettuce. It was disappointing. The calamari was sitting on lettuce in a pool of oil, the sauce was so apparently from a jar of ragu and the portion was ridiculously small — $ 10. The service was okay. A little bit too long of a wait when the place was not very busy. This is not the first time I have eaten here. ! I gave them a second try. Both times I thought the food was a joke. Next time if I return it will be for the drinks and that’s it.

I’ve been eating at the Anchor Inn for the last month or so, since it reopened under new ownership. The food is good and the service is good.
This past weekend, I sat at the inside Bar and ordered a Grouper Dinner, which consisted of a small cup of Lobster Bisque (with very little Lobster in it), a niece piece of Grouper with sautéed spinach. I drank water with lemon and when I received the bill, it was $ 39.00.
The Mahi Dinner is $ 18.00 and a more desirable fish. When I told the Bar tender/​server, he relayed my disappointment to the owner, who said,“Sorry he thinks it’s too much” I paid the bill and left.
I don’t like being ripped off and will not return to this place again. They’ve lost my business and anyone else that I can tell of this incident.

Well the first thing is that the parking lot is very small. When we got there it was full and we had to park on the grass at the edge of the lot. The place is on the edge of lake Osborne.
When enter you will see the huge new tiki bar. It’s very nice and that’s where the bands play. When we got there it was packed. Witch we thought Thats a good sign. But as we looked around we seen, that most people were only drinking and not eating. But didn’t think much about that at the time. We couldn’t find an empty table at the tiki bar. So went to ask the hostess for a table on the front deck. She said it’s a reserved in a nasty tone. We finally got seated on the walk way to the front door by the tiki bar.
We ordered are drinks and they toke forever to come out. We both finally decided on what to eat. Kelly ordered the mahi sandwich with the too sides. $ 16. I ordered the steak philly with the too sides $ 12. We both said this better really great or huge at these prices. Our beer cost $ 4 for bud and $ 6 for Stella.
So the food came out after about a half hour. They were not huge at all. In fact it was one the smallest phillys I have ever gotten. Kelly’s was on the small size for the price. Now we both agreed that the food was tasty, but grossly over priced for what we got. We both said that’s why people weren’t eating much in the tiki bar. Lol
It’s a nice bar to go see a band and have a couple of drinks. But don’t plan on having dinner. The prices are totally out of line for what you get and service is very slow when we was there. We probably won’t go back.

Went on a Sunday night. Was not impressed. They didn’t have ANY fresh fish, which is odd considering this is a seafood place.
Our waiter who was very pleasant, had just started and did not seem to be ready or really know the menu at all.
Our dinners were not good at all!.. I had the prime rib, very dry and seemed like they just threw it on the plate.
My husband had the fried shrimp. It was just ok. Seemed like it was previously frozen.
Asked waiter for check. Gave our credit card. He brings it back with no pen. Literally had to ask for pen so we could give a tip, which we did.
Will not be going back!
